I want all of them except for Han and Luke. I'm undecided on the Rebel Trooper.

He sucks.

Heh, if I can get free time...  Things are hectic, but I was hoping to have had one done by now actually however I've got a bit of work yet, plus "new" things.   ::)  It's always something man! :)

That's easily the most pathetic thing I've seen over there.   ;D

I mean, Matt's got one of the biggest feedback lists, he was nothing but helpful over there (as he is over here and elsewhere), and Scum locked his feedback thread.  Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!  You have someone who's obviously a community asset, who works overtime to make the hobby better, and they locked the all positive feedback for him because they're bitter.  Hah!  Hell it's not like Matt can even post there or anything, but his feedback still represented A) posts for their site, and B) it looked to most as if there was someone really great/helpful lurking...  Now everyone knows Scum removed someone from the site that just went above and beyond to help everyone...  Scum cares just about THAT much about that community.  Nada...  Zilch.

Where's that picture of a baby crying?  It's never been more appropriate than now after Dustin's move there.  That's pathetic on levels he probably can't even fathom.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Who was "Captain Kagi"?
« on: November 28, 2005, 07:13 PM »
Ginanalbri,

If you can't add any substance to the conversation it's probably best not to post at all instead of posting that you seem to not care about the conversation in the first place.

As far as the name I've always wondered this as well...  Could be a Clone Officer amongst the 41st since that's who Palpy took with him, but does every officer in the Clones have a name?  Seems odd and even odder for Palpatine to use the name(s).

At the same time I've always kind of had it in my mind/view of the Republic military that there has always been some form of standing army/navy the Republic uses even during peace time.  The starship crew for the Republic Vessel that took Obi/Qui-Gon to the Trade Fed ship in E1 is an example...  Danl Faytonni (I don't buy his EU story so I assume he and Ach Med Beq are NOT con-artists but just republic military personnel) is an example of Republic military too...   To me anyway.

They just don't have a huge army that could stand up to the Separatist forces at the onset of the Clone Wars.  The Republic, IMO, still was forming militarily by recruitment during the CW though and I figure that command crews, maintenance (You see some of them in the Clone Wars toon running around the Clone Fighters), and officers (Admirals, etc.) would be non-clone humans.

This tradition of non-clone personnel then would grow in the Empire in my little vision of Star Wars, and the Clone personnel would diminish greatly or vanish all together even, as recruitment slowly took over.  WIth that then, the "Clone Wars" would come to their close, and the new wars would be a basic civil war being fought "brother against brother".  Empire Vs. Alliance.  No Clones, no droids.

That's of course just my point of view on the Star Wars galaxy's evolution of wars.  It's what let's me sleep easy at night as an uber dork. :)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Any ROTS Screen Scene Ideas Yet?
« on: November 28, 2005, 06:52 AM »
-Kashyyyk Beachead:  SA BARC Trooper, Repaint Preview Wookiee Warrior (new gun), New Sculpt Wookiee Warrior, Beach Obstacle(s).  To me this set would be worth sinking LOTS of money into for army building purposes.

-Temple Investigation:  Yoda, #41 Sculpt 501st Trooper, New 501st Clone w/hideable hole in chest for Yoda's Saber.  Another set I'd buy at least a couple of for the Clones.

-Separatist Assault:  More an army building set than anything, but it'd just be a new SBD, and 2 (non-bendy-cheap-plastic) Battledroids.

-Shaak Ti's Demise:  The prototype Shaak with the chest hole, a good Grievous with removable cloth cape, New Magna Guard (SA).

I'm all for some of these figures making it to basic cards too.  I think Hasbro's short-sighted with figures they slip into "multi-packs" or exclusives and not put out into the basic line.  The Wookiee's, clone's, etc., would all make good basic release to make a little more moolah...  Maybe not when the set's released, but down the road a short foreseeable distance perhaps.

My ideas are more 3-packs and less scenes (kinda lacking in accessories which sorta make the screen scenes what they are), but I think they'd make nice 3-figure boxed sets.  Worth the $15 - $20-ish pricepoint.  I think $20 you HAVE to dish out something special though in that the figures must be highly desireable and new...  The Jedi Council sets have proven that $20 for rehashed crap isn't really acceptable to the masses.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS variation/error thread
« on: November 28, 2005, 06:44 AM »
A visor on Gree isn't going to fix the ****** black paint aps, the inaccurate paint on the helmet, the lack of a holster/greeblies on his uniform, the ****** camo paintjob...

List goes on but basically look for a review in the near future on this POS. :)

I've been buying Bly figures to remove the visor so I can build up his "squad" a little bit (since finding Evo sets here is impossible) using the Bly figure itself.  I like the variation but now I too am sorta hell bent on getting this latest one if it's the most accurate.  I can't even really tell the difference (I haven't looked hard) but now I want it.  ::)

Gree can suck a nut though.  The only justification I've found for buying Gree figures is to BS them as some kind of EU troopers he has in his squad.  I'm still waiting on "Gree" to start ground pounding for my republic military.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: Should I open Motti!?
« on: November 28, 2005, 06:37 AM »
Hmmm, new here, one post, and not back for his own thread?  Man...  :(  Guess maybe he didn't wanna stay? :)

Yeah I say open it.  Motti's not COMMON but "rare" is tough to apply to any figure that isn't fetching tons on Ebay.  Good figure, one of the better IO's they've made, and I think the "smooth" sculpt of the uniform is more realistic than the more heavily textured Ozzel/ROTS Tarkin figures (Tarkin's not bad at all).

I have 2 loose Motti's, one's for future possible customizing needs.  Good figure, just needs more articulation to sit down at his seat he gets choked at. ;)

General Madine's sporting a beard like this, however both the Royal Marine and US Spec. Forces figures from 21st Cent. Toys have just the facial hair you're looking for...  The bad news though?

Not the easiest figures to find and not figures you'll find out at retail I don't believe.  Best bet is checking line stores like BBTS or the now defunct Small Blue PLanet used to have them.   :-\  Yeah, not much help.  If I had my collective **** together I'd offer you a cast Fritz, but I don't at the moment have that together.

Toy Reviews / Re: Review-A-Thon: VOTC - A New Hope

Thanks Anton...

Yeah, Ben's probably the lesser of the two evils, but I'd still take an all-new Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi in the line at some point.  Softgoods, more articulation too...  Just that perfect figure for "Old Ben".  I think that if they re-release the spirit OTC Ben in a living form, that's fine for the plastic fans but I'll still want that version of him that has a more detailed/accurate softgoods skirt, full leg articulation, a hilt for his belt, and maybe a better cloak...  They just have to deliver something MORE than the VOTC figure because for $10 we shoudl have gotten perfection.

On Luke I just don't know where they were going...  I mean, why not sculpt the torso?  Why the shirt softgoods ya know?  He's perfect in articulation, they just need to drop the unnecessary cloth shirt and sculpt it.  Hell I'd do without the ball/socket torso gladly if it meant he sported the plastic shirt.  He'd be on par with Han if that was the case, but sadly he's probably my least favorite of the first VOTC figures.

Fortunately I feel that the VOTC line was all uphill from the ANH wave, aside from a protocol speedbump. :)

I think it ended like around noon but I'm not sure.  It wasn't an all-day thing I don't think...  At least I've heard people went "too late" for it anyway.  I'm thinking I should've bought those Neimoidian Commanders now but I'll live without them.

If TRU would do this same sale they'd clear those pegs right quickly.

Vintage Kenner / Re: AFA - Good or Bad?
« on: November 26, 2005, 02:33 AM »
Agreed 100% and then some...  To that end AFA strikes me as something that caters to the lazy and in turn has a pissy effect on US as a consequence.  I mean, learn the goddamn hobby and be proud that you DON'T need someone to hold your hand.

Ask advice from the guys that do know, learn from them, gain some knowledge...  Read up on sites/articles that the experts put out there like Gus Lopez or Shane, and just learn something...  AFA's charging you for advice more or less, while other people give that advice away for free for you to learn and use in your collecting.  That's how it should be, so to that end I look at AFA as a bit of a plague really.
