Which Fett is it though? Droids deco? pseudo-McQuarrie Deco?

It is the return of the jedi sculpt.

Kubricks / The Winter 2007 WonderFest SW Release Is...
« on: February 17, 2007, 06:33 AM »
.......another 400% boba.  500 at the show, and a further 1507 through the website. This is all according to the wonderfestival catalogue.

I think we all knew it was coming at some point. I'd have rathered something along the lines of a Rebo box set, but my wallet is smiling to itself. I've already got the last WF version so I can safely give this a miss. 8)

edit: just shortening up that title a bit - Jeff

Yeah, last year in January we learned about both Series 6 and the 400% Wicket.

Since there was no announcement in January, it makes me think there won't be anything SW related at the 2007 February Wonderfest...  :-\

Maybe next month...  :(

I'm sure they are just teasing us!

I had a look through the items on the website and couldnt find any reference to wonderfestival, so I'm supposing that information will come in the next update, and through advertisements in magazines over here.

I'll have a scan through HyperHobby in the video shop when it comes out, I'd be surprised if that didnt have any information.

I looked and....    NOTHING! ???

Kubricks / Re: RANK THE SERIES!
« on: January 18, 2007, 09:32 AM »
hmm... tricky.

I know my favourite is series 2, closely followed by series 7.

Early bird is way up there with series 7.

Maybe the weakest for me was series 3, with carbonite Han, Lando and an ewok.  Only the At-At driver was essential for me there, and I guess c3po to complete the 'gang'

I think my favourites are linked to my level of anticipation for certain figures (leiah and the scout in 7, At At driver in 3) and for the incredible freshness of collecting Kubricks in the first couple.

The new box set has a much higher retail price. People who get it direct have to pay 6000yen ($50), plus about 1000yen for delivery. The Toys'r'us set was about 3500yen IIRC,and you could just walk into the shop to buy it, which is why there were soooo many found there way onto ebay.  If the shipping isnt too high on the above link, I'd say its not a bad deal.

And I wouldnt expect a snowtrooper later down the line anymore than I'd expect a 11th series consisting of chases people missed. Maybe I should put that in the dream box-list thread :)

When should we expect to hear about Series 8 :) Hehe, I'm already impatient for what's to come. And it definately has to be Hoth/Bespin themed.

Medicom updates their site on the 24th of the month. If the last couple of series are anything to go by then we will be getting first glimpse of series 8 then. :)

plenty to keep you going in the meantime, black hole trooper, box set, and just maybe a 400% boba (possibly february Wonderfest ??).

Still going to be the same amount of carded figs from WCC as usual.
1000 at the show, 1006 via mail, right?

thats right, but I think that the majority of the toys that hit ebay will come from the show.  This year there are a lot more at the show, so I think there will be more on ebay.  I've been in the queues and the dealers just go round and round.

Just heard back from my friend in Japan (not Simon, my other friend there) and the box set is not limited in terms of the number of pieces but it is limited to one per person per mailing address I think.  As far as I can tell, I have this one wrapped up as of today, but it doesn't ship until spring(?).

The BHS is a lottery for the 1007 pieces available away from WCC.  Results of the lottery are announced to winning entrants in January.

Simon can confirm or correct those details, I'm sure.

I think it also says you can order upto 59 sets, but only one per family. thats the dealers sorted then!
the same goes for the carded figure.  Medicoms releases at these things is normally 500pcs, then 1500ish by lottery later.  The main wave to hit ebay is right after the show right?   With double the carded toys available, that's going to be a lot of toys hitting ebay on the 3rd.

Does that all make sense?

I just saw the 400% vader at wonderfestival.. I dont think anyone who ordered will be dissappointed- its a seriously nice chunk  of plastic. Lightsaber looks a bit feeble but could easily be replaced with a bit of red 5mm dowel;)

The Speeder Set is on the Medicom Website today. A November release. Limited to 2006 pieces.

Sweet!
Does it say if it is a toy show item, TRU or anything?
With the limited number, I`m thinking a WCC exclusive or something.

nothing on the site suggests it a Wonderfestival release..  it says mail order exclusive. prorders starting today and finishing on the 10th of august.  1 address one toy. The star wars release at WF is the tie fighter VCD.
