Very cool to see that this Poe has a removable helmet...

Like the TIE fighter, I'm in for this one.  Not too much else has grabbed my attention though.

Wow. I can't believe I'm down on just about everything tomorrow night has to offer, 3 3/4" wise. Going back to the vintage sized ships is weird. I get why they're doing it, I'm just not a fan. These items I won't be opening if I pick these up. I'll wait for larger scale versions so I can put them along side my current Imperial and Rebel fleets.

The owner hasn't opened them yet...18 hours later.

Toy geeks are weird. OPEN THE THINGS ALREADY.

The... the pack in figure doesn't fit in the ship it comes with?

Perhaps we should move all this to the POTF2 boards?

POTF vehicles were masterpieces  compared to this doggy chew toy thing.

I watched the unboxing video that the Official Site has streaming on YouTube.  And they unboxed the X-Wing.  It was kind of funny seeing the hosts from StarWars.com trying to assemble the vehicle.  And it was even funnier to see them try to shoehorn Poe Dameron into the cockpit!  They did manage to get the figure all the way in, but they did that off camera.

Not that this is ideal, but I put the single carded Pilot Poe Dameron figure into the vehicle and I've left he removeable helmet version standing next to the ship. The single carded version of Poe in his flight suit fits extremely well into the vehicle.

Does BB8 come out of the X-Wing?

No

Such a silly question, guys.  After all, it took from 1978 to 2004 for us to actually get an X-Wing toy that had a functional droid socket.  So with that sort of schedule in mind we'll probably get a better version of Poe's Black Squadron X-Wing, with droid socket, come 2041 or so.  ;)

Poe's X-Wing was the primary item I wanted to get from this line and I rushed all over my area on Friday and Saturday looking for it, but the ship was nowhere to be found at retail in Central California, so I got one via Amazon.com.  Hard to say if all the running around looking for the X-Wing was truly worth it...

I'm still sort of mixed with it.  The toy captures the look of the new X-Wing and I like the look.  I like the vintage-style wing opening mechanism and the wings feel secure when in the opened position.  The cockpit was better-detailed than I expected and really has about the same amount of room as the larger OT X-Wing tooling.  I like the use of clear plastic for the rear canopy and the fact that the canopy opens correctly.  The rubbery parts are very annoying, but easy to correct by soaking in hot water to straighten them out.  I like the Poe figure, but it is a bit large and so I have a different, smaller, pilot in the seat until I can find one of the carded Poes. As many others have said, I wish Hasbro went with the larger size for this ship.  They could have easily done it...  The current toy just sits low and looks smallish.  But this is a kids toy first and a collector's item second.

Misplaced question but I'll ask anyway.  Did POTF2 figures have more articulation than TFA figures?

This is the first, and at the time of this posting, only TFA item I have freed from it's packaging so far. I'm a big fan of the X-wing and a big fan of the FX scale X-wing we've been enjoying for almost 20 years, so I'm disappointed in the step pack taken with could have been a spectacular addition to my X-wing fleet. I really dig the design and deco, though. I get why Hasbro did what they did with the scale. I just can't get behind it.

And yet you bought one.  The only way to truly protest this is with your wallet.

Finally getting around to opening some of the vehicles that I've bought over the past month...

First impression of this vehicle was not good.  I had read the on-line reviews and I bought one anyway because I'm a sucker, I guess.  Anyway, I opened it up and there they were - four ridiculously bent cannons.

I have no idea what they did during the manufacturing run, but that ****** black plastic is really soft and easy to heat and bend.  The good news of course is because the plastic was so soft and pliable, it only took about 3 seconds in boiling water to soften them and bend them back into place.  In fact, I dipped the X-Wings' wings and even Poe in the boiling pot too and shaped them.  Wings look a lot less saggy under the weight and Poe fit in the cockpit a lot easier with his slightly reshaped/bent arms.

The end result of all my work is a really nice looking (albeit small) Stealth X-Wing from TFA.  While I agree that for the $50 price we shouldn't get a ****** toy, it only took a pot of boiling water and 10-15 minutes of work and I ended up with a really nice looking X-Wing.

I'll give it a solid C.  Good toy with a terrible plastic choice.  Let's hope those early reports on the White X-Wing are correct and the white plastic they used behaves a lot better than this black plastic did because, despite being pretty disappointed in this X-Wing, I know I'm going to buy the white one too. :P  #sucker

Good to hear they are salvageable. Keep in mind parents/kids aren't gonna reshape anything in boiling water. All the talk about parents complaining about breaking figures...now overpriced bent WOOKIES X-wings.

Definitely agree that for the $50 this costs, you shouldn't have to tweak anything.  It's nice I was able to "fix" mine, but I never should have had to do that in the first place. :(
