Heh heh, but was it really a "Battle." Seems more like a massacre.

Even better! The first ever SW Massacre Pack!!  ;D

Hmm, well then the second could be just a slight change to the current Tusken pack. Just add in AOTC Anakin!

SA Coruscant trooper and removable helmet 212th. thats what im waiting for.

im not going to stop with clones anytime soon. i only have 44  and they are all episode 3 save for 2 of them. hasbro needs to focus on ep 2 clones. we dont have much interms of it. and all these EU clones. they acually look pretty cool..at times.

You'll get your wish later this year with the Legends line. Plain white AOTC clones are coming out and there will be an officer figure as well that is a running change. Now here's hoping we can all find the amount of these we want.

All this time and no one even hinted at including a crispy version of Owen and Beru?  For shame.

Well, that could make an excellent ANH BP.

1x Owen and Beru
1x Sandtrooper Orange Pauldron
1x Sandtrooper White Pauldron
1x Sandtrooper Black Pauldron
2x Smouldering Skeletons (Amanaman's accessories)
1x Dewback

Heh heh, but was it really a "Battle." Seems more like a massacre.

He said that there are times when they just don't have figures to fill the pegs and that's why they leave them one or two to a peg.

The pegs, to consumers, look better when there's one or two figures on them vs. totally empty.  Most of the time, the stores do not have enough stock to fill each and every peg, hence the 'facing up' of pegs and shelves.

but I'll prolly wait for clearances on these, unless they start to becomne HTF. Taking history into account though, that's doubtful.

Oh, I don't know.  Hasbro's trying to scare us with talk like this:

One more note in vintage... Because of this timing, we will not be making as many figures as we did in 2006, and are cutting back some to 2004 levels to ensure we don't have a lot of lingering stock this Fall. Collectors should make sure to get them when they see them because they will not be as abundant as they were in 2006.*

Fixed the error, thanks.

I still think the vintage figs will be abundant enough that I won't have to go crazy trying to find them. I'll focus on Snowtroopers and pick up the rest at a leisurely pace. The first set of vintage were not all that scarce except the trooper.

About looking good to the consumer, I'm not sold on that idea. Okay so it "appears" they have stock, but just a slight glance will give it away to what they are doing. I'd rather see figs near the bottom pegs for the kids then all spread out. But that's just my opinion.

This is my last big year for army building. I'll get the 501st clone, the AOTC white clones (with a scant few officers to lead them), and the Grey commander of which I'll make grunts as well, providing there is an extra belt in the package to make him (or I'll be forced to customize and I'd rather avoid that).

After this my desire for Prequel troopers will be pretyy much done. I still want some more Stormtroopers, and some other OT troops, but not many of those. So 2007 is it for me for army building. Since AB takes up a large chunk of my SW budget, 2008 is going to look really slim for collecting, but conversely good on the bank account. I'm thinking it will shrink to about 10-20% of what I spend now per year. Which will still seem like a lot to some, but for me it's a huge drop.

Is the Animated Debut Fett all new tooling, a kit bash or a repaint?

I know the accessories are new but I can't tell with the figure.  It looks like he has a new belt...

I'd guess it's the VOTC mold. But that's just a guess.

I found these a few weeks ago, but only saw them the one time. I left all of the Luke sets, but did get one Quinlan and Two Alpha sets.

Good figs, great sculpts. Lacks a little articulation in the Quin/Villie set, but I can overlook this.

I don't know about others but I think we've discussed how some of us actually clean up the toy aisle...  I know we've talked about that before.  I did it tonight at Target.  It's sad, but I like the SW area to look nice.  OCD I guess.

I here ya Jesse. I do the same thing. Even if I find nothing new for me, I still like to clean up the Star Wars section at least. I feel that if that section looks nice, then people "may" be more apt to buying from it. That had a positive effect by getting some of those darn pegwarmers out of the store.

Strangely enough I've actually been reprimanded once for doing this. A manager came by and aasked what I was doing. I said something to the affect of "Oh, just trying to keep the aisle clean." He said something to the affect of "Well we have people to do that." Then he asked why I put the figures near the bottom pegs and ganged them up on as few pegs as possible. It was a simple reason. One, kids can actually reach the figures and might be able to more readily find the figures they want. Also, it gives indication to store employees to stock the pegs. Now he understood the first part but got a little upset at the second part.  He said that there are times when they just don't have figures to fill the pegs and that's why they leave them one or two to a peg.

I feel that that kind of looks cheap or that someone didn't feel like stocking. But I won't vocalize that to them, less they start calling me one of "those" collectors...

We have to be careful when dealing with store employees. Even if you've been one of the "good guys" for years, which is what I'm known as at one of my local Wal*Marts, it only takes one negative incident to tarnish what you may have worked years to build up a good rapport with.

As to the Vintage wave, I'm not going to be in a rush to get all of these figs. Just Snowtroopers. Even then, I'm only going to get 11 of them and stop (keeping one carded). The rest I'll get two of (one loose/one carded), but I'll prolly wait for clearances on these, unless they start to becomne HTF. Taking history into account though, that's doubtful.

I'm down for this wave. I'll prolly order a whole case depending on the case breakdown.

With 7 figures in the wave, someone is going to be shortpacked.

The only one I'm not to ecstatic about is the Luke, so I'll trade or sell (at cost) any extra of him I get in a case.

The rest are decent. Nice to get two Cantina  aliens and each with a curved piece of the bar to finally finish that diorama. Umpass Stay is okay. I'll stop at two of him. The second one will be great custom fodder. Boba I'll keep one carded and one loose. Can always use more droids, so CZ is welcome. And of course the McVader is going to be a keeper. I look to get thre of him. (1carded, 2 loose each with a different helmet on, to display loose)

So not a bad wave at all.

Wow, for once Hasbro is doing us a favor.  Releasing a boxed set that does not contain any new figures.

I'm surprised there's not a new silver figure in there just to entice the completists.

Well technically if the helmet is removable then it is a newish figure...
That still remains to be seen though.

Excellent job on the Y-wing pilot. Can you give us a tutorial? I don't often split figures in half at the waist, so I'd like some pointers on how to do that safely, or as safe as possible anyways...

Hey, thnx JMS.  thnx much for the praise.  every now and then i'll devote time to do something i REALLY want to do, and that is not often.   :'(  lol

No problem, it was well deserved, IMO. And I hear ya brother. I wish I had even half the time I need to do the customs and dioramas I want to do.

1934
Awesome awesome awesome. The only thing I'd work on is the lighting. But the diorama itself is TOP NOTCH!

Excellent Dressellian (sp?) custom! I might just have to make a few of those now myself. Thanks for the tip on those.

For lack of a better name, I like the two "Swamp" troopers. Good colors.

Those guys look like they've been through hell. (I mean that in a GREAT way too.) Like they've seen some serious combat.

Kudos to you. I wish I had time for customs like these. Do you make any to sell? (PM me so we don't clog up the boards)
