I’m curious what droids it will ultimately make… I like their designs generally but there are some I don’t mind skipping. It’d be nice to know what you get before committing to buying.
-
I absolutely LOVE this idea, I think it will be a lot of fun. I hope this is easy to get because I'm easily down for five sets!

Thanks!
Don't forget to use "SHIPMAGIC" for free shipping over $75.
-
Do we have any more idea on exactly what five droids you get with this? Are they all new or repeats of something they've offered before?

I asked a friend that and he didn't know either. He guessed the droids might be on the box with the Jawas, but then that might mean we get a bunch of mouse droids (appropriate for a Disney set).
-
I might bite on this one. But I'm also waiting on the Black Series McQuarrie concept 2-pack. That's supposed to be up around 10 AM on Shop Disney. Because that SHIPMAGIC code is worth using!

It's weird that the description says "Features 25 holiday-themed droids" instead of droid parts. Is that a typo or has this set changed? Or maybe there was a mix-up in the original announcement?
-
Beats the hell out of me, but I ordered one. I’m not going to open it until we know what’s in it though.

Got it! Thanks!
I also decided to buy the Advent Calendar. My daughter and I have had fun with the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, and this might be fun, too.
Predictions? I'm thinking there might be Training remotes and IT-0 droids in Christmas ornament colors. Maybe a BB unit. Beyond that? Who knows!

2022 Build-a-Droid Advent Calendar - builds 5 droids.

I went digging back through JediDefender's twitter timeline... this is where the "5 droids" report came from-

Based on the "Features 25 holiday-themed droids", some folks are speculating that it is not a 3.75" "build-a" set but potentially repaints of those mini "build-a" droids that came out in late 2018 - https://www.fanthatracks.com/news/collecting/disney-announce-star-wars-mini-droid-blind-packs/

That would kinda suck. I bought the advent calendar assuming it was new 3.75" build a droids. I guess we'll see what my $70 will get me.
I'm afraid to wait and see what this is as it might be sold out in a couple of days...

Update - it appears "25 holiday-themed droids" was a typo. The text has now been revised to read:
"Comes with 24 build-a-droid pieces that make five full droids–plus a bonus completed droid making six droids in total."
-
F' it. I'm in. One of the droids will probably be a mouse droid. Really hope some get the stencil-like graphics like a few of the black series holiday figures instead of just colored sections in a holiday theme.
-
Yakface reporting that it’s 24 pieces that make five droids plus one completed droid, for a total of six.

Sweet. Glad its been confirmed and I'm not getting some weird off-scale droids.
Hopefully these are all new and not re-issued droids from previous years, like they packaged with the Halloween droids (I loved those, but at least you knew what you were getting).
-
Lol… I jumped to page two and didn’t realize this had already been posted. Sorry Jeff. :)
-
Yakface replied to someone on the Insta thread to reply that the droids are not new. :(

Here is what he said on twitter (https://twitter.com/yak_face/status/1579595512797310977):
"If the art is any indication, there will be 2 gonk droids, 2 astromechs, a mouse droid and the surprise droid. I’ll go out on a limb and say it’s a holiday repaint of B2EMO."
-
A repaint of B2… he does look like a box so it make sense.

Hmph. I wonder which comment came first? Or if his definition of "new" droids does not include repaints of "old" droids?
-
I wish we’d get some protocol droids. I miss those 3PO, LOM, RA-7, shopkeeper BADs
-
If the artwork is what we are getting, I am definitely cool with the 2 gonk droids, less so the 2 previosuly-released astromechs unless they change it up with graphics on the body.
Protocol droids would be awesome and help me get over the creepy McQuarrie C3PO released a long time ago.
-
Already shipped!
-
Picture showing some of the pieces is now up on ShopDisney. Nice. If these are any indication, we won't get a deco that's been released before. I do hope that is the only BB droid in the set.

Son of a...
So, I bought this in October and stashed it so I could open it with the kids... and then completely forgot about it until this week. We were so busy with LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy and LEGO Star Wars advent sets that I completely forgot about it.
Anyway, I finally get around to opening it up tonight and I got a DUD. I got an extra day two bag in place of my day 14 bag, so now I have an extra droid leg and a headless astromech. FML.
Going to reach out to see if there is anything ShopDisney can do, but since I bought it almost 3 months ago I'm guessing I am S.O.L.. :-[

Dude that sucks hard. The pic didn’t load but I hope it wasn’t the DHL droid. That one was the best imo.
-
I finally opened all my bags and luckily got all the right parts.
Does anyone know if there are official designations for these droids yet? I did a few Google searches and nothing came up.
-
I ended up with 2 of these (don't need the second) and haven't opened 1.

Yep, pretty much SOL from Disney. All I am getting are robo-response of "items from this order are outside the return window". ::)
edit: Just dropped $20 on a 'Best Offer' to pick up the R5 droid off eBay, basically just for the dome I'm missing. I really need to quit wasting money on this hobby...

The Advent Calendar is back at shop Disney. It appears to be the same one as last year, mercifully.
