Has anybody noticed after the 3po and r2 land on tatooine in ANH there is a large blue blob that is beside the escape pod?
It really bugs me.

Not until you mentioned it :-\.  I think it's the lid to the escape pod -- and it's reflecting the blue sky perhaps?

I've always assumed it is a reflective paint on the lid of the escape pod, to make it more visible to Search/Rescue parties...

I've always noticed that too.  I just figured it was the inside of the top hatch as well, but it sure is a bright blue.  Like bluescreen.  Maybe George will add someone else to the escape pod later :P.  Just kidding.

Yes...it is.
In about 20 years GL will go completely insane and turn everyone into walking talking bottles of glue in the Special...Special edition.
