Saga '02-'04 / Re: For those considering KEBco Toys:

The rep also posted a couple times "people not wanting to visit the website because they told two people to not visit Kebco". I don't think he could grasp that it was his attitude and responces that turned people off. I just wish I woulda been able to stay awake long enough to follow those 3 threads through till their ends. I could see the threads being locked, but it is kind of sad to see them deleted. Like JoshEEE said:

I was surprised to see that those threads had been deleted, as they were a mix of both testimonies AND trashing of the Kebco service, and you'd think that would be informative for collectors and members of that site.
There probably would have been less Kebco trashing if their business manager had responded to the situation better.

Most I've lost to scratch tickets was $10, most I lost in a casino was $2.75.

I followed those 3 threads up till roughly 11:15-11:30PM EST last night. I have to agree with the Wookie. The professionalism, or lack thereof, by the Kebco representative (their Business Manager) had turned a few potential customers away.

The Kebco rep had taken a comment that someone had made that was obvious sarcasm (about how if their preorder was cancelled Kebco would go under) and tried to make it sound like it was a blatant lie. They also called someone else out for a comment posted claiming it was a lie (I believe the poster in question posted the e-mail Kebco sent that contained the supposed "lie"). It was amazing how the so-called business manager accused alot of people of twisting his words around, yet was guilty of doing the same thing.

I'm not sure what was funnier, the Kebco bashing or the Kebco rep with his gung-ho battle ready abrasiveness.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Why Do You Collect?
« on: August 23, 2003, 08:20 PM »
Lego is the only line I actually stuck with my whole life. I started collecting Spawn when the Spawn with Malbolgia's head caught my eye. Then a student of mine got me into the new MOTU and TF Armada and then I got back into GI Joe. After that Star Wars. Then because of Canada sucking for toys I ended up starting on Sports Picks as filler while waiting for better.

I do want to get Dark Alliance and the earlier Chaos Comics figs because I was a fan of Evil Ernie and Lady Death.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Do Any of Your Figures Get "Replaced"?
« on: August 21, 2003, 09:04 PM »
I have 2 shelves dedicated to GI Joe, 1 for Cobra, 1 for Joe.

I have 2 other shelves. One has Star Wars and Simpsons and the other has Muppets and Mattel Batman. "Replacement" depends on how the different collections grow and whether or not I want to swap another line in on one of the non-Joe shelves. My collection is in the bedroom, which I share with my girlfriend so I can't add more shelves  :(

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Your Best of 2003 (So Far)
« on: August 20, 2003, 11:19 PM »
So far I have Padme Droid Chase, R2 Droid Flight, Mynock Hunt Chewy and Secret Ceremony Anakin.

Padme is an ok fig, neither best nor worst list material.
Mynock Chewy is a good figure. I like the articulation. Good accessories.
R2 Flight is about par with the 2002 Deluxe Jango (electric sound backpack). That Jango should have been called Deluxe Hoover Jango, thats how much it sucks.
I know some people think Secret Ceramony Anakin is one of the best, for me he's only ok, neither best nor worst. Probably one of the best for likeness. My complaint has to do with the fact that we all know what scene in AOTC its based off of. He should at least be able to be put in a pose that goes with the Wedding Dress Padme (although it is nice in action poses)

Thanx peeps. My girlfriend's son snagged me a female Tusken w/child (now I have 2. My girlfriend got me a $30 gift card for TRU (spent it tonight too). Got another $60 ($40 was used at TRU).

At TRU I managed to get a lego squad car (been neglecting my Legos since the summer started). For my Muppets I got Rizzo The Rat. For the Mattel Batman line, finally got me a Joker (just wish I had enough left to get the Batmobile). For Star Wars, grabbed an R2 Droid Factory Flight, Secret Ceremony Anakin and a Mynock Hunt Chewy (all TRU had and I wish I could have found Barriss or Aayla, but it is nice to see some 2003 figs north of the border).

Also got my order from Legends (Ordered Monday night, order shipped yesterday morning, never seen shipping that fast not even from peeps here in the same province). That order was Saga - Padme Droid Factory Chase, POTJ - Eeth Koth, Sabe, Zutton, Obi Wan (Jedi Training Gear), Shmi Skywalker, FX-7, X-Wing Pilot Luke, Emperor's Wrath Vader. Great price some POTJ stuff at the moment, 10 or 11 figs are going at $2.99 CAD a piece.

Happy belated to DarthWormie and Valtar

I wish stores around me would carry the Mountain Dew Live Wire  :(

My favorite gimmick was the clear Pepsi and Pepsi Max. It still ticks me off that they never lasted long  :'(

I liked the OT but back then, I was more into playing with GI Joe, He-Man, Lego and TransFormers. As a teenager I stuck with my Legos and my Joe and TFs were put on a shelf. When I moved out on my own, I started back into GI Joe and TFs. After I met my girlfriend, I started collecting WWF/WWE, the new MOTU, Batman, various Toy Biz lines, various McFarlane lines (mainly the Spawn line). One day we went to stop at Burger King for lunch and I picked up an E1 Qui-Gon that someone had left in the parking lot. After that we went to TRU because I wanted to check and see if they had any new GI Joe figs and the Darth Vader Bespin Duel Saga fig caught my eye. Since then I've concentrated on the POTF2-Saga figs (with a couple vintage Stormtroopers because you can never have enough of them  ;D )

For the Muppet line I keep all card backs because each one has info on that Muppet. Other lines I keep one card per wave if it can be used as a checklist. I also keep any cards that have instructions or that are a necessary visual guide on assembling the figure (tech armor Batman for example)

Hey DJ, thanks for stopping by to check us out!  Normally, things are nice and mellow, but as you've already seen - we have a little bit of "drama" happening right now.  We hope to soon return you to your regularly scheduled JediDefender programming!   ;)

Hope you enjoy the site, and please give us a shout if you've got any questions, comments or concerns about ye' olde JD.  Looking forward to seeing you around the boards here...

Thanx for the welcome guys.

Toy Reviews / Re: Bounty Hunter 4 Pack
« on: August 12, 2003, 01:36 PM »
Since I started collecting Star Wars with the Saga line, I'm glad to see this pack come out.

Aura Sing has 2 guns, the long rifle and a removable pistol in the right leg holster.

The swoop bike is pretty sweet. I would suggest pulling the tail pipes down to hold the swoop up, otherwise it seems to tip over at the drop of a hat.

I have yet to see a set where Bossk has the shoulder emblems.
