Now complete 1:1 scale Full Life Size Boba Fett 23/8
« on: April 16, 2006, 02:32 PM »
A bit of a strange custom but its still a custom lol.

I started with a mannequin and bought a set of Fett Armour form a guy in the U.S who makes it out of very thin steel. I then bought two sets of Grey overalls/boilersuits and found patterns for how fetts suit should look I then modified the suit using the material from the second suit to make the additions with. I then bought a vest to mount the armour onto and a neck seal. I bought a very poor helmet from Ebay which is very badly damaged, the guy sold me this as a new replica it cost me around $70!!!!
He's been reported and hopefully I'll be given a refund, I've bought a replacement helmet and once this arrives I will replace the damaged warped helmet but it will have to do for now.
Gauntlets are being delivered shortly as are the boots.
The Jetpack is almost complete I scratch built this from card and bottles and then covered it in paper and pva glue to give it strength it just needs a coat of paint now.

I'm still looking for a belt however......

That's pretty cool! I'm working on a fett costume and I'm using that helmet (Well, I'm using a Don Post 1995. Is that a Don Post 1996? it might be), although mine isn't so distorted and I'm making MAJOR modifications to it so that it doesn't look quite like that. Looks good so far though.

What you could do, since the fett helmet is made of PVC plastic is heat it up (preferrably in water) and reshape it back into its original shape, then dip it in cold water so that it freezes into shape.

Definitely keep us updated on this man!  I've always wanted to make a life size Boba Fett costume for my future collecting room  ;).  It's too bad about that helmet  :-\.  My friend's dad had one of those Prop Boba Fett helmets from a while ago and I recall it being pretty flimsy.  Hopefully that's not how they are these days, (or maybe he just had a cheaper version, not a Don Post replica).

Anyway, that jetpack construction is very clever and looks great so far.  I can't wait to see it painted up!
The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
Is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

Very well done, this looks like a lot of work to do but you're really doing great on it.  Can't wait to see the final result.

Heres a pic of Fett with his new helmet and gauntlets

His belt is partially finished now you can see one of the pouches has been added the other should be done by tommorow, the little ammo pouches still need making and I still havent got around to painting the jetpack, hoping to do this soon though.

right I've fianlly weathered the jetpack, it looks a bit over weathered but thats mainly to try and disguise the creases etc caused by the way it was built.
But I'm happy with it pretty much cost me nothing, the only thing I had to buy that I didn't already have was the green spray paint so its a jetpack which cost me £5.

I also finally bought some wookie braids:

Unfortunately though the saga figures along with some marvel, movie maniacs etc have taken over Fetts place so I no longer have room for him in the store.
Hes currently in the store room/work area, I may sell him on ebay as a lifesize statue/costume not sure yet though.
