Saga Collection '06 / Re: TSC Recent Purchases
« on: August 2, 2006, 11:01 AM »
BrentS picked me up a Vader Tie Advanced last night at WM.  The strange thing is that it rang up for $19.96.  I thought that this was in the $29.99 vehicle assortment?  If not, then I saved myself $10 + shipping instead of ordering it from EE.

Got 3 Skirmish Battle Packs last week too for $5 each.

Guess what?  OUT OF STOCK!  After two hours straight of trying to just get one figure, they go out of stock.  Thanks Hasbro, for once again proving why your website is completely useless.  >:(

I second that!

I've gotten to my cart twice, but every time I go to check out I kepe getting 'page cannot be displayed' or 'Error found on page' messages.  ARGH!  >:(

Congratulations!

I tried getting my youngest son to be named Luke Sky Walters, but my wife boycotted that one almost immediately.  Lucas George Walters didn't go over too well either...

I applaud your ability to get Anakin 'approved'.  Must have used a Jedi mind trick...

Just picked up #2 today.  I could only flip through it before I had to get back to work, but Darth Talon has made her Legacy debut.  ;)  I'm very interested to see what's been going on for the last 7 years...

I only picked up 3 VTSC Biker Scouts to go along with my Vintage Biker Scout and Speeder Bike.  I'm sure that I'll be picking up more now that they are going on clearance.  These have always been my favorite Troopers throughout all the movies.

Just got done reading issues #0 and #1.  I definitely like where this is going.  Can't wait for the next installment.

On a related note, this is my first real entry into the events of the New Jedi Order.  Any suggested reading I should check out to get me up to speed on where they are at?  Or I guess better stated, where they have come from?  ???

Thanks for any help you can provide.

That was awesome!  Thanks for sharing Gundam.  If I were one of his two 'assistants', I don't think that I would forget that experience any time soon.

I Am Sith Will you be going for the mace Windu? The hilt is in my oppinion the best one.

I really don't think that I'm going to get a Mace one, but who knows what will happen if the price is right.  If FAO Schwarz puts it up on sale like the Vader and Anakin sabers are this week, I don't think that I could pass it up at $68 like those.

I know that the hilt is great as a friend of mine has one and I've been able to see it up close.  I'm also not crazy about purple.  But my main beef is with the character more than the saber.  He and Jar Jar are by far my two least favorite prequel characters.  I don't mean to offend those of you who like Samuel L. Jackson's character, but I just didn't care for him, especially in EP1.

Call me crazy, but having an 'attachment' to the character is a big deal to me when it comes to getting these lightsabers.  Anakin, Luke, Maul, Vader, I got into all of these characters and was really psyched to get their force fx sabers.  I also can't wait to get the Obi-Wan when it comes out.  With Mace, he was just 'eh' to me in the prequels, so the desire isn't there.

Thanks for the compliments.  I'm quite the perfectionist, almost to a fault.  Since I worked on this a long while ago, I only have a few WIP pictures, but here you go:

The one thing that I remember about the 'face' was that I wasn't pleased with it until I added the black highlights.  That really sealed it for me.  It also covered up minor imperfections where the different colors meld together.  Thanks again.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: SW: Visionaries EU or Infinities?

My favorite story is the Maul story he just slooks so badass.

Mine as well. Very entertaining read!!

I couldn't agree with both of you more!  When I saw the picture of Maul in Insider, I think that it took me all of about 10 seconds to order the book on Amazon.  I thought that the whole book was very well done and I loved some of the concept art that was included.  The tie in of the origin of Grievous in Visionaries to Labyrinth of Evil was great.

The only parts of my collection that they will not get their hands on are my Darth Vader and Darth Maul Master Replicas Force FX lightsabers.  Those are for me!    ;D  I haven't decided if I'm going to get the Anakin and Luke ones for them to play with when they are MUCH older...

And just to update you all, it didn't take me long to decide on the Anakin and Luke.  I ended up buying both this week.  I couldn't help myself, the price was too good to pass up!

Now if I could only figure out how to break it to my wife...

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.  I'm getting settled in quite nicely.  I've posted a few times but mostly have been laying back and observing.  I guess it's the 'people watcher' in me.  So far I like what I see!

Hope to talk to more of you soon.
