Very interesting. That one came out of left field. I didn't see it listed, I wonder what the cost is.
-
Not to shabby, may have to think about getting him.
-
Nice surprise. We knew about Vader, didnt expect this one.
-
I hate Sideshow's preview shots... I'll probably order this guy, but it'd be nice to actually see what it looks like.
-
I really hate little teaser shots like this for any product. Just show the product already. Sigh. Anyway, the helmet looks decent. For me it will depend on how much they charge for this. If it's $140 forget it.
-
Yeah, but let's be honest, we're all hooked from the teaser on anyway! I'd love to get about a half dozen of these things so I can customize them, but I ain't about to spend about $90-$110 (I'm guessing) just to paint some! I'm even more excited to see which troopers come out next!

RS is reporting some good news for this one.
"With an open ended pre-order, collectors can grab up to six of the exclusive version, which comes with the blaster seen in some of the earlier costume photos, and as many of the regular editions they want. The figure will be set at somewhere around the $80 mark"
-
Apparently the regular edition (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=2124) is now up for preorder, $89.99, shipping 4th Quarter 2008. The exclusive version (on sale next week) includes a Stormtrooper blaster pistol as the unique accessory.
-
I think this might be a little pricey, since they are basically recycling the Clone Wars Obi-Wan body.
Could the armor pieces be THAT difficult to produce?
-
Why is Vader more expensive than this?
-
My guess is that he's an all new sculpted armor figure and probably a bit larger. The stormtrooper is basically a CW General Kenoby body minus the robes and with a helmet.
-
I just don't get it. I got the Vader with no problem. I log on to get the stormtrooper and it automatically sends me to the wait list?
Arggh!
-
I got vader this morning but ended up skipping the stormtrooper. he looks great but another $100 and i have a 12" trooper i can place behind vader if i ever wanted to.

That's not surprising. Stormies are significantly cheaper and someone out there is bound to be troop building (or at least getting more than one).
I was initially tempted by this figure, but the prices on these have become ridiculous. And only the exclusive version comes with a blaster? Really? I bought into the rebel fleet trooper, but I have enough other 12" stormies to easily pass this one AND the Vader.
-

Both versions include the standard E-11 blaster rifle, but the SSC exclusive includes the SE14-R blaster pistol. (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/SE-14R_light_repeating_blaster)

I want two, but I can only afford one - :-[
-
I really want one, but the BMF kind of took this out of the running of getting it any time soon.

Sweet! Just got a notice that my waitlist for the Exclusive Stormy is changing to a real order!
Yay!

This baby is awesome... I'm really wishing I could have ordered two!

Love my stormies..If I could, i would order more.....
with my two, I did the 'heat & bend' action on the chest armor, to get it nice and snug and touched up the helmets just a tad - took 10 minutes for each and I love em

Sounds like a lot of people are doing the slight warp on the chest plate. If I had an additional stormy, I'd warp one and leave the other, just to add a little more variation to the bodies. The mouth-piece things look much better after your touchup, Matt...
Dang, I shoulda ordered another.
-
I've got a bit of soft spot for 12" Stormies. I have 4 Marmit and 3 Medicom, so I was really looking forward to getting my hands on the Sideshow version since they very first announced it. I think I'm going to stop with the one. I've read all the easy ways to tweak it to improve the apparent flaws, maybe one day I'll bother to do a few. At least it doesn't have the characteristic Sideshow monkey arms.

I hear ya! A 3rd one is calling me.....and thanks, its amazing what a little extra black paint does for the mouth and speaker thingees....

According to the Sideshow Express Newsletter, these figures are still in stock for anyone looking for one or more.
