Saga '02-'04 / Re: New JD poll: Most wanted VEHICLE!

I'd go with the AT-TE.  Runner's up include Jabba the Hutt's Sail Barge and the Sith Infiltrator.

Yes it doesn't make much sense at all, originally there was debate that the theatrical credits said Lott Dod and the Official Website said Gilramos Libkath, since then it has been changed to Lott Dod and most on-line references (including the Data Bank) say Lott

Just checked out the Visual Dictionary, and that called him Gilramos Libkath.  Yet another inconsistancy.  Hooboy!

I guess the whole Lott Dod thing is a bit of a mystery.  The voice actor certainly doesn't sound the same from TPM to AOTC.  Also, the designation on the Lott Dod figure in the SAGA line is The Phantom Menace, not Attack Of The Clones.

Saga '02-'04 / Re:New Saga 4-packs: Love 'em or hate 'em?
« on: March 4, 2003, 07:07 PM »
I like the 4-pack.  Too bad there's not a fourth army builder in there.  I like the Vader, but he makes me want to buy fewer of the sets than I might if there was another Trooper, Officer, or Droid in the set.

The Neimoidian with Nute Gunray on Geonosis was not Lott Dod or Rune Haako.  His name was Gilramos Libkath.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re:New Clone Wars line previewed at Toy Fair!

Rumor has it that a Clone Wars cartoon series was scrapped.  However, I wouldn't believe anything until Lucasfilm actually says anything on the subject.

The fact that they're having Hasbro, one of the major licensees and a company that George Lucas owns 10% of launch a toy line  speaks volumes.  I doubt there would be such a big push for the Clone Wars if there wasn't some kind of cross-marketing in place.  The Clone Wars video games aren't a strong enough vehicle to promote and entire toy line.

There has been mention of an all white version of the red-trimmed Clone Trooper.  Hopefully that's a rumor with some measure of truth.

It looks promising from an Army builder's standpoint.    One nice little tidbit I noticed was the alternate paint job on the Gunship.  It's cool.  And the paintscheme seem to be moving more towards an Imperial look.

obi-dad, there are more Star Wars collectors in the New York area than you can shake a stick at.  Persistance pays off!

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re:"Clone Wars" Gunship - What do you want?
« on: February 9, 2003, 10:04 PM »
I've seen a wholesale sheet that indicates there will be two different Gunships issued for this year.  The Clone Wars version appears to be only different packaging, and possibly an alternate paint job.  The wholesale price for this is $22.

Then, there's the Gunship with added firepower.  This one wholesales for approximately $30 or more.  It's probably the one that includes 3 Clone Troopers and may have electronics.  There are already battery sized compartments in the base of the wings, and the rocket launchers on the top of the ship seem light capable.  Just look at the transparent rockets...perfect lightpipe.

Well, some of these figures bring us closer to the Holy Grail of completing the remaining vintage line.  Not bad!

I thought it was a good vehicle the first time around.  It was certainly a little scarce.  I think it wound up not getting produced in as high a quantity as the pod racers because those wound up warming shelves a little.

I certainly think it's cool that Hasbro's giving people a second chance to get some of these things.  We certainly shell out enough to them, and it's nice to see them returning the favor by offering some HTF items like the Tank and the TIE Bomber.

Saga '02-'04 / Re:Variants.
« on: February 4, 2003, 07:55 PM »
Just checked out the link you posted, MAC.  The one all the way on the right is the POTJ version.  The SAGA versions are the most easily identified by this features:

First one:  dark hair, no sideburns, smaller head than POTJ version.  I've seen reports from stores that this one's showing up, and e-tailer www.toymaniacs.com has them in stock as well.

Second one:  has blonde hair, blue eyes (I think).  Haven't seen any confirmed reports of this one showing up yet.
