The Original Trilogy / Re: Han Solo in carbonite?
« on: August 2, 2009, 02:17 PM »
It did look like the wrist binders came off just before the carbon freezing.  As for the arm cuffs, I've heard it theorized that those are actually made of carbonite.  So when he gets thawed out in ROTJ, those disolve just like the rest of the carbonite.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Deleted Return of the Jedi Scenes
« on: August 2, 2009, 02:14 PM »
I think deleted scenes would be a tremendous addition to all of the OT movies.  Maybe George is hanging onto those for the BluRay edition?

As for the ones I can think of from across the OT?
-Toshi station scenes with Biggs, Fixer, Camie (ANH)
-Wampa attack in Echo Base (TESB)
-C-3PO tearing down wampa warning signs (TESB)
-Sandstorm (ROTJ)
-Emporer's Royal Guards attacking Moff Jerjerrod (ROTJ)

People will always want and need The Drugs!  You've got a job for life, Jesse!  Unless you go into the meth lab business, that is.

Celebration V: Orlando / Re: The Celebration V Speculation Thread

Sansweet has done Wizard World Chicago a number of times.  I don't think his visit is indicative of anything other than maintaining a Star Wars presence at the con.

There are definitely some significant ommissions from the movie version of Half Blood Prince.  I think there are some things that were done right, like the Quidditch match and the sequence with the cave at the end.  But there's barely any sense of who Fenrir Greyback is at all, despite his appearance.  And there's a lot that was glossed over with the Weasely family.

The books are by far a much richer experience.  But I don't know how they can really be translated into movies without turning them into 3 hour+ epics.

Did anyone go to the San Diego Star Wars Society's trivia panel on Sunday?

Nope.  I was more interested in just getting out of town that day.

The Legacy Collection / Re: 2009 Hasbro Star Wars Fans' Choice

Wait - did they make or announce Wooof and I missed it? Because that's what I want.

I got confirmation from Hasbro that Wooof is a lock for 2010.

Not right now.  I've been scanning the job market in my industry, but not a whole lot of companies are hiring.  I go by a tried and true axion:  it's always easier to find a job when you have a job.

Dak Ralter (Super Articulated Resculpt)

A very easy pick, IMO.

More exclusives! As long as they don't hit the same time as all the other stuff, between now and the end of  the year, I'm all for them.

They're due for Spring 2010, Anton.

I also saw a sign for Ahsoka's Starfighter
Is it a bit crazy that we went from not even knowing this was coming to me buying it at Target today?

I think it's going to sell well regardless.  Hasbro stated at Comic Con that Ahsoka has outsold almost every other female character in the history of the line.  She may be at the point of even outselling Leia, which is a significant achievement.

And with that in mind I think Ahsoka's Jedi starfighter is going to be a solid seller.
You missed my point.  We didn't really even see a picture of this until at the show and all of a sudden I bought one last week at Target.  They has said it was coming in a Q&A I believe at one point but played it really close to the vest.

Han's Hideout - April 10th.

QUESTION:  OK, we've already got Obi-Wan's Delta 7 Starfighter and Anakin's yellow Delta 7 Starfighter is expected this Summer. How long before we get Ahsoka's ship to round out the set?

ANSWER:  Not long, not long at all. Stay tuned!

This figure could peg warm, but he certainly has many more usable parts for customs.

Based on Hasbro's statements about the lessons learned from Yarna, I think that's less than likely.  I can see ICMG being about as scarce as Tarados Gon or Concept Anakin.

Wow, it's already out. I have been passing on the CW triangle ships as I have all of the "real" ones.

It's shipping with the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid.  And we've seen reports of that showing up.  So the Ahsoka fighter must be out.
