So will the xbox360 now be the only piece of hardware manufactured using PowerPC processors?

Just announced at E3, Xbox360 will be backward compatible!

Actually, only selected xbox titles will be playable on the xbox360.  I'm sure they'll include most of the popular ones.  It'll involve downloading patches or something.  It's a very odd backward compatability solution.

The Unreal demo and the Fight Night demo were explicitly described as rendered real-time, and demonstrated to be such.  The other stuff was a mix of prerendered and rendered.  They really didn't show much "game play" honestly.  What do you think was presented as game play footage that was really prerendered?

I think the xbox faithful are just grasping at straws.  Their presentation was so disappointing that they gotta try to find fault with others.

It is a really cool idea.  I remember wasting hundreds of hours playing Tetris Attack at my fraternity house in college.  If they offered on-line multiplayer for that... I mean wow.  Nothing would be more fun that playing that with my Brothers again.   ;D  Ooooo... and Bomberman!

The The Fifth Element is a great flick. I can watch it over and over, Die Hard in Space.  :D

Eve Salvail is also a Canadian, her biography.

I'm the same way about the 5th Element.  Just fantastic, fantastic Sci-Fi.  The pacing and editing are genius.  And I love the number jokes sprinkled throughout.  And the soundtrack is utilized brilliantly.

Of course, most people get hung up on Chris Tucker's character.  I can understand that... though he didn't bug me.

I read somewhere that the entire Nintendo library will be downloadable.  No cartridges needed!  Pretty crazy.  I might just need to get a Revolution just so I can play Mike Tyson's Punch-Out again.  Little Mac RULES!!

Can anybody host a photo?  I have one worth sharing of Natalie Portman from the German premier.  And I've already exceeded my bandwidth on my site.

Woah... check that.

The PS3 will offer dual HD output AT 1080p... HIGHER resolution than standard 720p HD.  And 1080p will be the standard resolution for all games.

I'm just speechless...

The xbox360, by comparison, only offers 720p or 1080i resolutions.

What I'm most stunned by in the article is that the console will have dual video outputs.  So you will be able to hook it up to TWO side-by-side HDTVs, resulting in a 32x9 video screen.  That's just freakin' unbelievable.  Granted, plonking down the money for a pair of matching HDTVs might be daunting... but just the fact that it has that capability is awe-inspiring.
