Shadows of the Dark Side / Re: New Geonosis Figure?

I was shocked at the fact the Geo sets are not on clearance at Target like most everything else so maybe this explains that.

Does anybody know if Lebron James has announced what team he's going to sign with? I wasn't sure if they'll mention it anywhere.

Thought the Cavs' owner's comments were pretty unprofessional, but pretty hilarious to hear him say what he thinks.

I heard this stat yesterday.

Of the 64 NBA Championships: The Lakers or Celtics have won 33.

Of the past 31, 27 have been won by one of five teams: Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, Spurs, or Pistons.

Why even follow a team if they aren't one of those teams? They have no chance.

I saw the photos this morning. How can you even work knowing that stuff is out on the shelves? I would be going batsh*t crazy thinking about that all day.

I'm going to be a complete wreck by the time we get to August.

No offense or anything, but do you go to counseling for collecting SW stuff?  You seem awfully high strung here at JD.

I'll stick up for you McMetal. I used to be that way too. The last year or so I've gotten used to being behind on stuff and it isn't so bad, but before then I would freak out knowing the stuff was in stores and i couldn't go right out to get it.

I think most street dates like these are for the retailers sake. Makes Target and Wal Mart have to wait until the same time so one doesn't get a jump on the other store.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Why does Vader Die?

I've said this numerous times, but I think it's hilarious when some of you get so angry over EU.

Hardly angry over it, just had no idea what it was.

Hey, I'm tryin' to, buddy!  This is the Original Trilogy section, after all.  I was hoping I'd be safe from that crap in here, but it just wasn't meant to be this time.

My "It'll be Ok" comment deserved your "Buddy" comment. But the "Exhausted Universe, garbage" sounded angry to me. Having said that you are certainly correct that this is the "OTC" thread and EU answers maybe don't fit.

Oh, so it's just more Exhausted Universe garbage, then?  I see.  Thanks.

Meh...Will probably just return it and hope for a "regular" release sometime down the road.  Didn't pay attention when I bought it, but looks like it's completely void of any special features like all the other sets have.

I thought about that when it first came out, but at the rate these are coming out I didn't want to wait God only knows how many years for the snazzy version.

Picked up the Simpsons: the complete 20th season.  Kinda sucks they're going down a different route with the packaging, but could someone explain what happened to seasons 13-19 at retail?

They wanted to make some extra money by giving us Season 20 so soon to celebrate the milestone.

Detroit/Cleveland. All I can say is "what the $%&*"

You CAN NOT blow that call in that historical context. Great that the ump was "sorry", but doesn't fix it. I am amazed at how classy Gallaraga handled it. I would have exploded. If it had been a Twins' pitcher I would be having a meltdown still.

You have to call him out there.

Were they just flat magnets ?

No they are "3D". Maybe one square inch-ish.

At my local Target I noticed Star Wars magnetic helmets by the sports card display. $4 for a "pack" with one of 34 random helmets inside. You can feel the package and probably tell what you are getting. I was tempted to buy one, but decided to pass.

Is Mallrats really that good?  Must be the only Kevin Smith movie I haven't seen yet.

Mike don't tell anyone I told you this because I don't want to get into a discussion about Mallrats, but no it's not really that good. Ok is a good adjective for it.

Former Mets GM Steve Phillips said today that he would trade Stephen Strasburg for Roy Oswalt if he were in charge of the Nationals.   :o

Just incase he had a shot at ever being a GM again....

That's possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard......... Are you sure there wasn't some context that made it remotely logical?

TV-9D9 / Re: Family Guy Star Wars
« on: May 24, 2010, 11:25 AM »
Finally watched it when it aired on FOX last night.  I thought it was pretty good overall.

I HATE Family Guy, but watched last night because of the Star Wars theme. This is their second SW episode. The first was ANH and this was ESB. Loved the "nailing the electical wires to the snow" line. The "robot camels" were pretty hilarious too.
