Imperial sucker right here. Pre-ordered!

What is a Crimson Stormtrooper? I'd only want half of what's there, so hopefully these come out on single cards.

The closest thing that I found was this Wookieepedia listing (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Magma_stormtrooper) for a Magma Trooper. But the name 'Crimson Stormtrooper' sounds familiar, like it might have been something out of the Crimson Empire storyline from Dark Horse.
The real stars of this set, for me, are the Sandtrooper and the R2 unit. The Sandtrooper adds to the troop building theme that Hasbro's been building with the previous Sandtrooper releases. And with the whole Black Series Deluxe line, I'm wondering if/when we might see another Sandtrooper with a Dewback.
The Imperial R2 unit is a nice addition here, too. I'm a little surprised that it's taken this long for Hasbro to offer up a repaint of R2-D2, but I don't think there were any other R2 units that merited being placed in this line. An exclusive multipack like this seems like the best vehicle for doing that.

I'm probably going to order this, but holding off for now. I like the v3 Sandtrooper, but it's just an easy repaint. I like the black astromech, but a little pricey at $25. The red Stormtrooper looks a little ridiculous and I really don't need a third TIE Pilot. Add in that this is $25-30 per figure...meh. This is one of those sets that I don't feel I'd miss much if I never ended up getting it.
-
So is that TIE Fighter Pilot a repack with a name or is there something different about him? I'd like to get the OT figures from this, so i guess I'll pre-order and sell the Crimson Trooper and possibly the TIE Fighter Pilot if he's a duplicate?
-
The TIE pilot is Lt Oxio. Helmet paint variation at least.

We'll see. I will not be at all surprised if this is a straight repack.

I finally broke down and ordered this set last night. The way Hasbro exclusives have been going lately, I was worried once it sold out they would never get any more in.

Star Wars The Black Series Imperial Forces 6-Inch Action Figures - Entertainment Earth Exclusive (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HSB4007R&id=JE-405087801) = $60 plus shipping during EE's clearance sale this week...

Is there anything different about the Sandtrooper and TIE Pilot than what we already have?
Its a nice markdown, but I'm probably still not interested at that price. Although I would love to have the astromech.

Just deco - white pauldron on Sandtrooper; Lt. Oxixo deco on TIE Pilot helmet.

I might bite at this price. Have to check the checkbook, but $15 per fig isn't awful...

It wouldn't be if the figures were more interesting.
- Might be nice to have another Sandtrooper variation, but I don't have to have it
- A red Stormtrooper is just kind of stupid (sorry for those who love it)
- I really don't need another TIE Pilot
- I would love to have the astromech

Yeah, that's pretty much my assessment too. My collector math says the astromech is cool for $20, and I'd probably buy up an extra Sandtrooper variation for $20 if it was released on its own. Another TIE Pilot for $10 isn't bad and that leaves the goofy red Stormtrooper as a $10 novelty. Not a great deal, but I'm thinking about it...
-
If it drops to $45-50 (with free/cheap shipping) I think I'll strongly consider it. I like your collector math, but my collector math says the TIE Pilot is worth $0 to me.

If it helps, remember that EE has a 10% kickback to JD if you order through our link. So really, you're paying $54 to EE and $6 to help us keep the server running. :)

I'd take the Sandtrooper, Dave, if you want to go for it a split costs.

Done deal. You get the Sandtrooper for $30 and I get the other three figures for $30, right? ;)
-
If people do want to try and find a way to split this set I'm really only interested in the astromech.

Good one! I was going to give you $45 for the one. ;)
But Dave's assessment is pretty much spot on, just switch the Sandie with the astromech for me
