Rogue One Toy Rumors
« on: April 25, 2016, 12:01 PM »
Saw this via the Yakface twitter feed.  I translated the text (thanks, Google!).  The YF post mentioned an AT-AT, but there's nothing in this Swiss retail product list that gets anywhere near that descriptive.  Other mentions of this "Signature Set" seem very much focused on this € 454.91 priced  offering being an AT-AT.  I've seen similar inclinations over at the RS forums.  Given the story of ROGUE ONE and the price, I'm leaning more towards a Death Star set.

This ROGUE ONE product list was originally posted by Star Wars Collector.de.  Here's the translated text.  The prices that are listed in both Swiss Francs and Euros.

Some item titles you can already guess pretty well to what products could be doing. In some other again, it is the more difficult. Plenty of room for the usual speculation indicated.

Once we learn more about the new Hasbro Rogue One Collectibles, we will tell you about course.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what happens with that set as both AT-AT and Death Star toys have been rumored a little bit at various places.

I'm not going to get too excited about either option yet.  I'm not sure I want to spend big $$$ on yet another AT-AT after the last big one was so great. And a potential Death Star set?  It could be either amazing or totally lame, depending on price and what they do with it.  :-\

AT-AT "Signature Set" I believe all of the above are case prices, not pack-out prices (i.e. the AT-AT is 2 per case - so half the above price).

I DO NOT need another AT-AT.  I've got three different 1995+ versions already, and I didn't even bother with a couple of the paint deco variations.

I would love to get a Death Star though.  We talked about this at a local meeting a couple of weeks ago - how hard would it be to sell struts and decking in modular packs that would allow you to build as many floors and as wide as you wanted?

Pardon my prior skepticism.  The price seemed significantly higher than what one might expect a BAT-AT reissue to sell for.  Or a Nerf AT-AT, for that matter.

With all the rumors, plus their appearance in the trailer, it would make sense that there would be a new AT-AT. However, much like the Falcon from TFA it is tough to want to pick a new one up if you already own the previous (awesome) BMF versions. I was also really hoping for some sort of Death Star. With what we know of this movie, this might be the best (last?) chance to get something like this. It just seems like if Hasbro was going to take a chance with a new Death Star, now would be the time. A great Christmas item too.

I wonder what kind of Nerf projectile the new AT-AT will feature.

NERF STAR WARS REBELLE

I suspect any toy Death Star would be like the new TMNT movie Technodrome.

I'd be super excited if it wasn't for the new 5 POA standards and smaller ship molds. Now I need to take the wait and see approach.

To be fair on the ships though, the Snowspeeder was scaled properly, and while the Sandspeeder didn't appear in the movie (though that it had a MM makes me think it may have, in the background, actually been there somewhere), seems like a reasonable speeder scale...

Anything else, yeah it's a crapshoot.  The TIE could've been done better.  The X-Wing I never expected more than they gave.  And the TIE having giant wings, yeah I didn't count on that either. :(

I hope Hot Toys produces a Royal Guard. Been watching a high end 1/6 version for a while.

Back to rumors...

The TIE Striker seems like a solid bet for a vehicle. Though, my guess is that Hasbro's going to design a totally new cockpit rather than dust off and use the excellent cockpit used by the last Interceptors released, which is a shame.

I'm hoping for the TIE Striker, too.  It seems like a solid choice for a starfighter vehicle assortment.  And I'd also like to see the Rebel U-wing fighter/transport in there, too. And the other obvious vehicle seems to be the Imperial hover tank.

I'd betting the Nerf shooting AT-AT's "head" is a nerf projectile that shoots from the main body.

Having seen the behind the scenes look at Celebration now (a few times) it's clear this movie is going to be the Kenner gift box we all probably were wanting right after the OT era. Figure city. I was initially sort of ho hum on revisiting ground we'd already covered in the films but after seeing the SW costume exhibit a few weeks ago and now this, you know, I'm game to see this era fleshed out some. I love the droids and aliens and troops. I especially love the sort of long hair white Chewbacca alien in the clip.
