I've heard similar things in the reviews I read today

I didn't much care for Shrek 1, its good and the animation is great but the story and humor just weren't my taste as much as the Pixar films were/are

We took the kids and enjoyed it. Plenty of stuph for every age. Make sure you stay through the credits.

Saw it yesterday, and it was great! Donkey and Puss are the best part in the film. It's a sequel that doesn't suck! That's gotta be a first (Well, there were some other sequels that didn't suck... ;)).

Go see it!

It was really great! I throughly enjoyed it, and recommend it highly!

I laughed at some of the parts in 50 first dates :-[ :-X

Shrek 2 was ok, but I enjoyed Shrek 1 much more.  I found v.2.0 dragged until Puss showed up.  Then it was quite enjoyable :)

I was kind of surprised that Shrek did THAT well, but it is a good movie.  We caught a matinee yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I think a lot of the criticisms of the movie come from the fact that with the first one, no one was expecting it...now they expect more.  I think I liked the first one better as well, but 2 was very good as well.  Puss in Boots was actually funnier than I expected too.  Saw some trailers for more animated features coming up...the Incredibles and Shark Tale, both looked kind of funny, lots of stars lending voices in Shark Tale the way it looks.

My girlie and I have watched Shrek every time we caught it on cable, and we laughed as hard as when we saw it in the theatre. I think I'll take her out to see Shrek2 this weekend!

I went with my gf and we couldn't stop laughing. There were some parts that were pretty sluggish but the humor made up for it.  ;D

I loved it also. I need to see it again at some point. I'm sure I missed a ton in the actual film as well as the ending, which I did not stay for. This is definetely one to buy on DVD.
