Troop total: 342 in groups of nine, plus 12 mounted, plus 1 platoon leader (501st) plus Vader equals 356 pieces on the board.
I'm planning three more installments: Next - my ATOC army (much smaller,) then my Trade Federation Army and finally my imperial Army.
-
Pretty cool.
-
Sweet! I like the layout. Is this a permanent display or are you just setting up for pictures?
-
Just for pictures. Unfortunately, these are going in a box after one more photo shoot attempt next week.
-
Well, you actually lined 'em up! Mine still are and always have been in a box :-\ I really should line up Keller and his 15 white Marines.....
350+, wow, I don't even have 300 loose figures in total, ha!
-

Nice collection. How come they're going into a box? ???
-
Wow. Awesome. 8)

Space issues. If I'm going to be able to display a large army, I'd rather it be my imperials.

Speaking of which, will we be seeing your imperial army in the near future? The clones are impressive, but I somehow thought you had an aven bigger collection based on your purchase posts. I'm guessing the Imperials are a much larger lot!
-
Yes, you will be seeing my imperial army at some point. Hopefully sooner than later. The thing that's holding me up with the pictures is the photography quality. The perfectionist side of me won't let the soft focus thing slide until I've tried everything short of moving the entire set up outside to use natural light.
The Imperial army is nearly 600 pieces and will be the last of of 4 armies to show off.
-
Mmm...Skittles... :D
Awesome collection, can't wait to see the OT army!
-
i love army building, your ROTS army is impressive
-
UPDATE!
I've replaced all the previous photos with new and hopefully better pictures in addition to adding new angles. Enjoy!
-
Ah... very nice new shots, Anton! They make for a very tidy and disciplined overview of your troops. Nice to see the customs clones getting some minutes of fame as well.
This one's pretty cool ;)

Here's my AOTC army. Not nearly as impressive as the ROTS bunch, but an army none-the-less...

123 troopers.
Well, that's it for these guys. Next up, the Separatists...
-
Great setup. And I must say you are definitely getting a knack for taking pics.

Very nice army Anton. I like that you have your ROTS and AOTC clones seperated - mine are all just lumped together. :-\ What's the story with this guy? Green Bay Packer Trooper? ;D

I've always had a good eye for composition. It's the lighting that gets me every time. :P
The separatists might take me a while, I have to figure out how to reset some of the legs that warped while being packed away. :(
-
Enjoy I did Anthony. Nice pics! :)

I feel your pain. I had a few battle droids that had the same problem. I have them on stands so it doesn't seem to be much of a problem.

Very cool set ups

An army set you don't see every day...

Whew! A lot more than I expected.
171 troops are on the board. Not included in the count are the tanks since they have no AI.
Next up... my Imperial Battalion. That one's going to take a while to get set up. ;)
-
Very cool collection of droids ehj..... :P
but where are the grievous-bodyguards and the assassin-droids?? ;D
-
Again, really nice armies there Anton - like you said, the droid set up isn't something we see a lot of, with more people focusing on clones or Imperials or something along those lines. That is a really nice display. The droid army overall is an area I've always seemed to neglect in my collection, and your set up reminds me of some of the things I haven't grabbed.
-
That's way too cool Anton. My passions for army building are as follows: Battle Droids, Planetary Natives (Ewoks, Felucians, etc.) and ships (specifically Tanks/Walkers). I like to think my Battle Droid/Seperatist Army is fairly large at about 100 guys, but you easily have me beat. I like how every droid is displayed in organized squads, with bigger things like tanks to the sides and rear. You really need to set up these Battle Droids facing off against your Clone Army, because that would be impressive to see.
Two more things... your Crab Droid is backwards, and is the front and center Tri-Droid a custom? It's pretty cool looking.
-

:-[ Oops. Thanks for catching the crab droid.
As for the Tri_Droid, that's the one that comes in the Mygeeto BP (along with the SBD in front of the Spider Droids.)
Thanks for all kudos guys.
EDIT: Fixed all but one backwards Crab droid. Botched the focus on the new pic, started taking set up down. :P
-
:o That's all I can say...
:o
-
Very impressive setup.
-
For the curious, I've updated the post with the troop total of 171 pieces. (non-AI machines excluded i.e Tanks.)
Also replaced all but one backwards droid picture.
-
Nice set-up Anton.
Damn, you're making me want to set my figs up. lol

PMing you about pic.
-
Fantastic. It's great to see the Droids get some attention.
-
???
Alright, anyone have any idea why my photo's are all red now? Funny thing is, they're red on the host site as well. ???
-
Huh, I was expecting to see red X's not red boxes... That's bizarre. Maybe you exceeded your monthly bandwidth and the host swapped those out for your images?
-
I didn't see any red when I got to see Anton's army in person! And boy was it an impressive sight. The sheer number of figures was just awesome. Even the recent earthquake couldn't upset the nicely setup squads of troopers. I enjoyed the pictures but seeing the massive army up close and personal was da bomb!
-
Yep, the Imperial Army is up and almost ready to go (to get photographed,) however, I'm waiting on some custom capes for my Royal Guards to get finished.
-
Yet another delay on the imperial army. :(
It looks like I'm going to have to move my table in order to move a piece of furniture out of the room and re-set up the whole thing.
-
Bummer. Oh well...we're a patient lot.
-
Any luck? :D
-
All red pictures? ???
-
Shocktrooper red boxes.

What you're looking at is over 700 troops and what portion of my fleet will fit in the picture. I'll be taking more pictures soon enough, and not with my iPhone.
Out of frame is a few more troops, two more standard TIEs, two interceptors, three Bombers, two At-At's, five At-St's and various smaller vehicles.
Not included in the set up is another TIE fighter, another Interceptor, another At-St, 4 speeder bikes and 4 At-At's. I simply didn't have the room.
For the curious, on the table is a full, minimum, battalion of 576 troops plus senior officers, support droids and a command staff totaling 664 pieces on the table alone. Below the table is just over 100 extra troopers. The Battalion is broken down as follows:
1st Company, all platoons (4) - infantry (stormtroopers)
-- 9 troopers to a Squad (including Sergeant),
-- 4 Squads to a Platoon (not including the Lieutenant),
-- 4 Platoons to a Company (not including the Captain)
2nd Company - environment infantry
--1st Platoon - Scouts
--2nd Platoon - Special ops
----1st Squad - Snipers
----2nd Squad - Night ops
----3rd Squad - Grenaders
----4th Squad - Shadow ops
--3rd Platoon - Desert ops
--4th Platoon - Cold weather ops
3rd Company - Support staffs
--1st Platoon - infantry support
--2nd Platoon - intelligence
--3rd Platoon - tech support
--4th Platoon - heavy weapons ops
4th Company - Air and Ground support
--1st Platoon - Space and Atmosphere

Simply incredible Ant. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. It puts my little army to shame, that's for sure.

Woah. Sweet. I love the breakdown of the battalion to help describe the pic.

Awesome work Anton!
-
That's an awesome display Anton. Do you keep this around all year or did you set up just temporarily?

Thanks everyone.
This is strictly for photography purposes, I originally intended just to do the table top, which had been more or less set up for a few months, but figured I'd go all out a few weeks ago and added the ships. If I had planned to add the ships, I might have purchased some more neutral grey background to make everything look a little sharper. My wife can't wait for me to pack it all up. :P

Tell her she can buy a couple pairs of shoes to keep it out a while longer. ;)
