Kubricks / Re: 2018 Medicom Toy Exhibition
« on: January 19, 2019, 12:45 PM »
So, I have a complete set of loose SW Kubricks.  I had an awesome display of them in my old house, but haven't gotten them back on the wall after five years in my new place.  I've got some other priorities, but hoping to get to it this year.  Thing is, I have just enough space for the full set, so I think as soon as I get it all set up, THAT's when Medicom will start releasing new stuff again.  I AM THE HOLD UP!

Thanks for posting the trailer!  Looks great.

Spidey's return really shouldn't be a shock to anyone.  Both he and the Guardians had planned sequels when Infinity War hit, so you knew these characters would be back.

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?
« on: January 14, 2019, 12:18 PM »
I consider myself a pretty active Marvel Legends 6" Collector.  I have looked at the 5.5" less articulated stuff and while I can see some of the appeal, I would NEVER include that stuff with my 6" figs.  Wrong scale, look is very different, etc.  If they think people will mix and match, I think they're nuts.

They've been hitting clearance now for $9 each

Have you seen any locally?

Ridiculous! JTA has an article on my local Walmart (Burbank, CA) getting 60 of these last night, with a picture. There's a ton in the picture. I got there at 10am today. ALL GONE!!! The workers said 2 or 3 people bought them all last night.

I did find one in a cart somewhere, but still. That's ridiculous.

Wow.  At least least your store is getting them.  I haven't even seen a peg/tag for these at any midwest Walmarts

Just tried one with the Qi'ra basi figure and it works great.  Nice snug fit.

Says they work on modern Star Wars figures... I might have to go with them since EE doesn’t know if or when they’ll restock theirs (and I talked to Adam).  My OCD might have issues with two different types of stands.  :D. Thanks for the info, Justin.

No problem.  If you're up this way in the near future and want to see them in person just let me know.  I probably have 50+ leftover, so I'm planning to use them for some SW figs too.  It was just too cheap to go with anything less than 100.

I am in the middle of redoing my Transformers and Marvel displays and just picked up some awesome stands from SmallJoes.com.  They are a little bigger than I'd like and I don't really understand the peg placement, but they're sturdy, clear, and crazy cheap.  Most places I found wanted $.50 to a $1.00 per stand, even in bulk.  I picked up 100 of the clear ones for about $25 shipped, and they arrived in two days.  Just wanted to share in case anyone is looking for these.

It's still available for just $49,000.55.  Why the extra $.55?  Just to be a Richard.

I was not able to find these at Walmart, but I WAS able to score one at Dave & Busters.  They had Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and a single Space Invaders.  I'ld like to slot a few of these into my cantina scene, so just grabbed the Space Invaders one for 3200 points.  Thinking of getting Galaga too if I come across it.  Is Galaxian the same game?  I was all about SI, Galaga, and Defender in my younger years.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Transformers Live Action Movies

Agreed.  The first 10 minutes of this film is better than the entirety of the first five films combined.

Too true.  I liked the whole movie, but could have just watched the Cybertron stuff on a loop for 2 hours and enjoyed it just as much.

That was hilarious.  I can't get enough Luis in those movies.

I love the whisperers.  I was fooled by the comic as well and worried that they were going to make zombies evolve or something stupid.  IIRC, they're just wearing zombie facemasks with clothes splattered in zombie guts.  So it wouldn't be hard for a lone zombie to wander off a little for bathroom time.  I believe they also keep the masks on all the time - its a big deal for them to show their actual faces.  Keep in mind, all the current townships have methods of steering herds where they want them to go.  That task would be just as easy - if not easier for the whisperers.  You could have your camp anywhere and just use scouts in shifts to drive herds where you want them.  Maybe they even use them for protection in place of walls.  Also, keep in mind that these communities are not that big.  I don't think it would be that hard for a group to set up 5-10 miles away from you without you ever knowing they were there.

Found all of Wave 19 @ Target today. Bespin Han rang up for $2.98  :D

Nice!  I assume they rang up under different DPCI's?  If so, can you share them?
