Title: Hasbro "Zip Vehicles" Toys?
Post by: Jesse James on December 5, 2009, 04:32 AM
There was a gallery of prototypes, and among them were some Zip-wire type vehicles.  I used to play with cars and motorcycles as a kid that used the little plastic zip cord thing to rev up an engine.  They pinched your fingers all the time, and the motorcycles went ape**** when you let them loose. :)

Clicky to check it out.

Not everyone's cup of tea but the kiddies will probably like them smashing around on the kitchen floor or flying off the table.

Here's an old post from when the BARC Speeder (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=6007.msg97035#msg97035) came up.

Almost looks like the old 70's Kenner Smash Up Derby/SSP Racers that came with a plastic rip cord that you pulled from the veichle & then set it on the floor & it went like a bat out of hell. Hmmm, I wonder. (http://www.cheesebuerger.net/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif)

I was looking at these again and I don't recall - have these been confirmed/rumored as Hasbro toys? The reason I ask as I was looking over that marketing plan (http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/news/images2010a/images.php?image=03) from JTA again and was wondering if the zip toys are for that McDonalds QSR promo?

Interesting thought.  I'd say it's a very reasonable possibility.

No, these definitely were NOT confirmed as Hasbro toys...  They just turned up from the same source, so these may or may not have a home outside of Hasbro right now, and there's nothing to indicate either way at the moment.  :-\
