The discussion 212th Battalion started (Most Wanted Fig) reminded me of just how much I want more KOTOR figs. I speak of one in particular: the very hot Bastila Shan...any thoughts? Does anyone share this need for Kotor's, especially Bastila, with me?
-
"nay" ;)
-
First of, I think this thread would be better suited for the "Hey Hasbro" forum. Second, we are getting one KOTOR figure in '07, Darth Revan. Third, I don't see the need to start a petition, as Hasbro will likely realize the demand for KOTOR figures and make some more. I'd love to see a Sith Trooper and Sith Official, Bastila, and of course, everybody's favorite senile old man Jedi, Jolee Bindo.
-
Who, who, who and who? The problem with KOTOR is that we don't all have time to play it. The truth is, all EU is fringe. While each section (comic, books, games) may have rabid fans, the fan bases are much smaller than that of the films. I'm all for EU, but I'd rather have the "third alien from the right" from a film I've seen over 100 times, than a main character from somethinh I know nothing about.

Not too mention KOTOR is PC and XBox exclusive, no thanks even further

So is Republic Commando, and they got 8 figures made so far.
-
Actually, they only made 1 Commando figure. All the other figures in the set are just repaints.
-
nayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
-
I guess this will make me sound old...but what is a KOTOR? Is it in the Prequels? If so then NO. If it is in the Original Trilogy..they yes.
-
Oh Paul, don't be hatin'.
And I'm gonna have to nix the KOTOR idea.
Kevin
-
Well, I'm all in favor of EU figures. But as for KOTOR in particular ... honestly I don't care.
-
I'll take some here and there, but when it comes to EU, they need to spread it out a bit. KOTOR is just a tiny amount of the EU as a whole, and since they're already making a KOTOR figure, I think it would be in Hasbro's best taste to move on to new material.
-
I LOVE Kotor, and I'm 30 next month, so its not a kid thing. I'd love a few figures sprinkled around, but I don't think it would have the appeal to sell all by itself.

Thats what I meant, like Bastila, Nihilus, etc. It's weird to have a revan if he's gonna be all alone thousands of years before the time of our other figs! :P ;)
-
Well, he myseteriously disappears after the first KOTOR, so maybe he was in suspended animation on an asteroid or something, and discovered by the Imperial remnant after Thrawn (I don't go any further into the EU than the Thrawn trilogy). There you go! Enjoy the new storyline I have given you! ;D
-
HK-47 is who I want thew most.
-
i actually hate all things eu after episode 6-xsept mara jade, she's HOT!
-
This is waaaaaaaaaaay before the movies, this is when there was more than 1 sith.
-
I agree about HK-47! Cool looking droids are always welcome.
-
yeah, hk-47 would kick a-double s! ;D 8)

KOTOR... Knights of the Old Republic... video game. Never played it myself. Having said that, I would not buy these figures personally, but I wouldn't be opposed if Hasbro made them for those who wanted them.

Do yourself a favor, GET THE GAME! Even one of the most staunch OT purist at RS' forums says it's more SW than the OT, which is a lot coming from a purist itself.
I hope Hasbro makes Revan SA. I also want HK-47, Sith and Republic troopers, aswell as Mandlorian Mercs in Green, Blue and Red variations. That would ROCK! 8)
-
Ok, I was at the comic book store and they had Knights of the Old Republic comics, is this the same? If so, I could go for some of those Manalorian commandos. They looked neat.
-
The comic takes place during the same period, but doesn't really follow the game.
-
I like some aspects of EU. Clones(Republic commandos), and some EU sith stuff will catch my attention. I always found the history of the sith (Ex: recent article in SW Insider) intriguing. So I would be down for a few sith lord figures, especially Revan. Too bad Lord Lucas himself isn't writing any more sith history. :P

yes, that would be nice.

No, these are the different ones. If you look on the first few pages of issue #8 of that comic series, the mandalorian talking to Mandalore himself is wearing the armor of a KOTOR game Mandalorian Merc(Minus the cape).
Hope that helps. ;)
-
nonetheless, mandalorian commandos would be neat ;D . theyre just not the KOTOR i was referring to :P
-
That would be awesome! Bastilla Shan, Sith Warrior, and Darth Nihilius
-
I'm all for Expanded Universe buuut KOTOR does nothing for me. Make me Republic/Legacy comic figures and I'll be happy.
-
As long as we get HK-47 I'll be happy.
-
I'm totally for KOTOR figs. All of the principle characters and most of the secondary characters, plus the army builders. If Hasbor released a wave of these per year, we'd get KOTOR figures for a few more years.
And I heartily agree that HK-47 needs to be represented in plastic! He's my favorite from KOTOR.
Though I also look forward to Bastila and Sith troopers.
-
:) I'm all for the Kotor figs.Definatly great customizing character potenial there, besides that they're just plain COOL! 8)

Never played it, can't get behind it.
Nay!

Man, Anthony, you are really missing out. It really is a good story line and the game play is fun. Filling in some of the earlier history of our beloved Saga is cool too, IMO.
-
I think any figure in KOTOR would sell well, even from the second one too. One reason I say that is many are of Sith or Jedi type characters and even if someone doesn't know who they are they would make great background filler or something like that. All others that are not Sith or Jedi have a very Star Wars feel to them and if they stick to the game over the comic when making figures there are still some really cool characters, droids, and aliens to be had.
One figure I would love to have which would be a customizers dream figure on how I would like to see them made is a Raven (player character) from KOTOR and Jedi Outcast (player charactor) KOTOR2. A must to have a male and female with all the different head choices, light and dark versions, and some different body choices too. For the Revan (player character) in KOTOR you need the character classes (Soldier, Scout, and Scoundrel) to choose from and of course the Jedi/Sith attire. Possibilities are numbering, but could be made into a reasonable set, if broke down. Add some different weapons and accessories to round them out and this figure would increase anyones fodder box.
Anyway, I would suggest to any Star Wars fan to play the KOTOR games. Very fun and they have a great store line that can fit into any diehard PT or OT fan. Takes some time to complete the game, but all worth it.

I've seen it played. My good buddy played both. I almost picked up II the other day, but decided I better play the first instead. I just have to track down a cheep copy for x-box. :P
I'm sure I'll love it if I get to play it though. That's what happened with Republic Commando.

KOTOR is much different than Republic Commando and much longer with a more indepth store line. Republic Commando was an okay game, but could have been much better with a better story and longer. It just sucks when you can win a game within about 3 hours. Anyway KOTOR is not like that. I have one game that I have going for 50+ hours now, but I like to play out all the side quests and go through all the options. The other cool thing is when the story line changes when you are light side vs dark side. You can win the game fast on the dark side though, if you just wanted to get though it and it can been done in about 3-4 day not played all day long.

I am all for it. make them all I love both KOTOR and KOTOR II While we are at make the KOTOR comic characters too. Legacy Too.
-
I'm still wrapping up KOTOR here actually when I have time to play... You'll not just "jump in and love it" I'm afraid Anthony... It's so much more involved than a shooter, but it does suck you in with story, which is a lot different than most games casual gamers are used to (not sure what you're into with gaming to say either way).
Commando's good for what it is, has some flaws, but the story more than gameplay is what drives KOTOR.
KOTOR 2 isn't nearly as good however... Not that it's bad, it's just a lot of duplication of the first I'm afraid.
As far as figures go, I'm all for more... I feel if they're going to delve into an EU property, Hasbro should cover more than 2 or 3 figures from said property. I think it'd be really great if you were able to, somehow, get a figure that was slightly "customizeable" to make a close approximation of your character from the game, however I don't see how it would be possible.
I'd be cool with getting some of the main party characters though, maybe a Sith/Republic Trooper, a Sith/Republic Officer... Maybe an alien or two from one of the planets you visit since their designs are quite Star Wars-ish and fit in.
I wouldn't go overboard at once on KOTOR figures, but mixed in here and there and I"d love to see quite a few actually.

I would have to agree to a point with Jesse here, but I really liked the changes that were made in KOTOR2. I don't want to ruin the story for anyone, so I won't get into them with details. The best has to do with light and dark side and the main party plus the bonus to one and offering different characters to join your party when light/dark side and/or male/female. Overall it's much like KOTOR. The story is better in the first KOTOR, but I think the characters were cooler in KOTOR2 minus some back stories for them.
Odd thing happen to me when playing the first KOTOR, a glich changed the Wookiee character Jaalbar's class to a Jedi. I couldn't give him a lightsaber, but he was able to use force powers. I still have that game saved, so when ever I want to have a Wookiee Jedi to play he is there. I really fun game for RPG gamers a must, and if you can take the long game play I would recommand to Star Wars fans too.

I would have to totally agree here about the figures. There are many cool characters I would love to have as figures, but we could get floaded fast. Maybe a few here and there would be the best. With that said I would like to see some more Shadows of the Empire figures made, or at least the ones that we got resculpted.

I've never have either. But the characters are cool. Stupid Lucasarts not releasing this series & RC for PS! >:(
-
KOTOR is the only game I've played multiple times. It is awesome! I am looking forward to picking up these figures.
-
KOTOR is far and away the greatest game ever made. It is perfection. All I have to say is that Hasbro better make more figures from the game, but not crappy like their upcoming Malak. They really dropped the ball on his sculpt. I won't be happy until I get a Bastila.
-
yeah i totally plan on getting revan and malak..but really fear the outcome of future figures after seeing the first version of malak....and i agree they should make alot more video game figures...surprised their just now getting around these guys....

I think Hasbro was surprised by the popularity of the games and how well they sold. The fact that it takes a year to get figures to market, they were already behind the times when teh game had hit the market then becaame popular. It's hard to know if a game is going to do well or not. SW games tend to do well enough though that by the time of KOTOR, they should have been prepared. At least they are for Force Unleashed. Now let's hope that game sells like mad or those figs are going to rot on the pegs. Personally I think game figures should come in multipacks. It worked very well for the Republic commando set.
I realize Hasbro is testing the waters with Malak and Revan, but since Revan won the poll, it stands to reason theya re goign to do well enough at retail. (Let's hope)
-
HK-47 or bust. I really want him, he's the SW Bender.
-
If they do HK-47, he should have a voice chip.
-
i think some kotor figures should be made. with the new nihilius, malak, revan made we should get some figures to go along with them.(http://www.swg1.net/encyclo/images/hk-47.jpg) (http://www.starwars.jp/databank/droid/image/t3_m4.jpg) (http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/thumb/3/3a/Zaalbar2431.jpg/140px-Zaalbar2431.jpg)
i would enjoy T3-M4, HK-47, Jolee Bindo, Mission Vao, Zaalbar, Juhani, Bastila Shan, Canderous Ordo, Carth Onasi.
-
The more I think about KOTOR figures, the more I think they should put them in a box set. If they did them in a pack similar to the Republic Commando set or the Death Star briefing, I think it would go over well, and I think all of the characters would get more of a fair shake that way.
-
I would argue that with the aparent success, or I should say acceptance, of the Wave 5 EU figures, they could probably do one wave next year and be pretty successful. They don't have to do all KOTOR, much like they mixed KOTOR and Clone Wars for Wave 5. I for one wouldn't mind seeing another KOTOR and EU mixed wave next year.

Darth Bane's already confirmed for the second Sith Evolutions 3-pack.
