And so it begins...

Bet this'll be $250-300 on eBay. And I'll pay it. Glad it seems to be the last one.

Actually, DST is doing just that, although with TOS-era figures right now.http://www.startrek.com/article/first-look-deluxe-kirk-and-spock-action-figures-from-diamond-select-toys

It'll be interesting to see where this line goes.

No interest, eh? I didn't sub this time, preferring instead to preorder the figures I wanted from BBTS. I like the idea, but it's just too expensive for what are just really expensive Frankenjoes.

Boy, Mattel sure can find new ways to infuriate people. I'm really not interested in this figure (especially at $40) but this is insane. I thought the reason they built the Matty site was so that people knew when exactly something would be on sale.

The cost of the 12 figure subscription service is $306 (+ shipping for 6 shipments).  You can pay all at once or in three installments of $102 (billed to your credit card). When you subscribe and choose pay by Installment, you will be billed for the first two month's shipments.  Then sometime during the second month of shipping (October/November), you will be billed for the 3rd and 4th months' shipments and sometime during the 4th month of shipping (December/January) you will be billed for the final 2 months' shipments.

Please note that for the installment payment option there is a $4 service charge per billing while the pay in full option has one $4 service charge.  Please also note that for installment buyers, there is an additional charge each time a billing is attempted if your card is not approved.  If your card has been declined and we have to rebill, we will only be able to retry your billing three (3) times before your subscription is cancelled.

Each retry has an additional fee added to your total charge (please see the Terms and Conditions.) For example when the second and third installments are billed, if your card fails, the first time we retry will carry a $4 service fee, the second time will carry an $8 service fee and the third time will carry a $12 service fee.  If it fails at that point, we will cancel the subscription.

We have found that the majority of the problems is because the billing address entered doesn't match your credit card statement.  Please check your statement and enter your billing address exactly the same as your statement, even if you don't agree that this is your correct address.

This Figure Subscription Service is a "build to order process" so you can order as many as you like, until the order period closes. At that time, we will not process anymore subscriptions and we may/may not have additional figures in the club store at a higher per figure price.

The order period is from May 1 through May 22nd.  You can check out the pictures and order link at GIJoeClub.com.  If you have any questions, please let us know and we will answer them in the FAQs at GIJoeClub.com.

Enjoy!

Brian

Sweet. Expected it to be either Two Bad or Modulok, but I'll take those guys.  :)

I'd stick with Larry Hama's book. The IDW series seems to keep rebooting every two years, and it's kind of lame. Fred Van Lente's regular series is entertaining so far, though there's only two issues out. Chuck Dixon's Special Missions is so far meh, but it does continue his series/continuity. I haven't read Cobra Files yet, but if it's like the Cobra series at all, I'll probably enjoy it, but it is a little dark at times.

Hama's book is IMHO the best, with recent issues featuring the Red Shadows, which is pretty neat.

Thanks for that. Been looking for that Storm Shadow for a while, and was getting tired of coming up empty at TJ Maxx, and the local DGs are just saturated with the first wave.

Will definitely be skipping the Boomer now- just dropped $38 shipped for a Frag-Viper.  :P

I'm happy the stuff is being made at all, so there's that. I'm grateful somebody was willing to break up the boxed set so I didn't have to buy the whole thing just to get a Frag-Viper.

I have to wonder how well a Night Force set would have done at retail, even as an exclusive. Probably better than some of the Retaliation stuff, which doesn't seem to move at all at my local WM.

It's on! Lots of really cool stuff, including the Night Boomer:

http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/conventions-9/joecon-2013-night-boomer-glow-in-the-dark-box-12105/

I was really hoping TRU would get this as an exclusive, but once Night Force was announced as this year's theme I knew this would show up there. I'd love to have one, but it's $250 already on ebay. Time to get that can of Krylon and open one of my boxed Skystrikers, I guess.

Anyone have an extra Whiplash for sale? I missed him when he hit Matty, and prices are ridiculous on ebay ($100 and more) so I thought I'd ask here.

Found a blue Cobra Commander and GI Joe Trooper at Target today, and picked up another Red Ninja, so it looks like wave 1 is making the rounds again.

Also, I picked up the dollar store repaint of the Cobra Trooper (the blue one with yellow webgear) at TJ Maxx. I found two of them, and no other figures from the wave. One's up for grabs if anyone has an extra Storm Shadow from that same wave, though the card isn't mint.
