Saga '02-'04 / Re: For those considering KEBco Toys:

Looks like Philip deleted all of the Kebco threads over at RS, since it's one of their main sponsors...

Must be why the forums were down earlier today...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: TTT DVDs (and other ripoffs)
« on: August 26, 2003, 12:10 AM »
I see them as two different movies, so I really don't feel like I'm put over a barrel or anything. Even if both versions came out on the same day, eventually I'd own both of them. But, given a choice, I'd like the EE first.

Joe Defender / Re: G.I. Joe Toys Thread
« on: August 26, 2003, 12:05 AM »
Man, I loved GI Joe. I liked that they were cheaper than MOTU and Transformers, so I could afford them with my measly allowance. My personal favorite figures are the first versions of Wet Suit and Serpentor, both from 1986. That's the year I got heavy into Joe.

I bought the RAHC and the first five waves of the new line, but repaints and terrible shoulder joints on the new figs made me decide to discontinue collecting it. Although I still pick up the ones I find cool, like the Sand Viper and the upcoming Lady Jaye and Pimp Destro.

I have 4. I'd rather see the red one repainted white before buying anymore of these.

I found a five-spot in my jeans last week. They were sitting on my floor for about two weeks. I had to clean house because a girl was coming over, which is something I should do more often.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Ever Walk Out of A Movie?
« on: August 24, 2003, 11:16 PM »
The only film I've ever walked out on was one for one of my film classes - David Lynch's "Lost Highway."  I believe I screamed "This is (expletive)!" and left.  I enjoy a lot of his films, but that was a colossal mess and had no business in a university film class.

Man, I hated film classes. I took a couple at UNI and couldn't believe the pretentious drivel I was forced to sit through. At one point, if I had seen another French film, I was going to rip the videocassette apart. Still can barely sit through 'Amelie'. I do just because Audrey Tautou is in the flick.

I still haven't seen all of Goldmember. I just cannot get past that Sumo shower room scene and not feel the need to toss my cookies.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Why Do You Collect?
« on: August 24, 2003, 02:34 PM »
I collect Star Wars and Transformers mostly out of nostalgia, although as far as TFs go, I didn't have too many of those, so I'm going back and buying what I didn't have then. Nostalgia was the reason I collected GI Joe and MOTU, but those were either driven into the ground (MOTU) or reached a state where I didn't like the way they looked anymore (Joe).

I collect Marvel stuff and Lord of the Rings because the characters in their respective media fascinate me and I like to have figural representations of them.

Middle Earth / Re: Lord of the Rings Figures
« on: August 22, 2003, 02:44 PM »
I found Eowyn at TRU today, no Bilbo. Oh well.
I thought her hair was supposed to be more blonde. Meh. It's still cool.

Edit- I read that TRU.com has a red-boxed Boromir up for pre-order. I didn't check, but does anyone know?

He'd probably try if he knew what I just typed. But, I spent my money on booze, comics, and articulated plastic. I wasted the rest.

The Target here hasn't put out any 6" basic ROTK figures yet, and TTT comes out on DVD Tuesday. Way to capitalize, you commie tards.
They STILL have an army of King Theoden, the first version. That's the only figure they have on the pegs. Even Gollum completely disappeared before the royalty of Rohan.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Anyone want an Amanaman on a SAGA card?
« on: August 22, 2003, 12:39 AM »
I'd like to see Ree-Yees and Ishi Tib rereleased first. If Hasbro were to include a stiffer staff (ick) with the rereleased Amanaman, I'd probably buy it because the one I have is perpetually bent, regardless of what I do to correct it.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Do Any of Your Figures Get "Replaced"?
« on: August 22, 2003, 12:36 AM »
I usually display stuff in a rotating pattern because I don't have room to display it all. I use the version of any given character I feel is superior for the kind of display I'm doing (planet, movie scene, whatever).
