Crap - double crap.  Thanks for the heads up.

I'll see if Phruby can send my stuff back first class rather than priority, and this might influence what I am wanting back.

 :P

From what I understand the Post Office now requires any package over 13 oz. to be Priority. >:(

Btw, I checked other company rates for my package. UPS ground is $32.xx, Fed Ex Home is $27.xx. and DHL ground (residential) is $19.xx.

I don't know how much extra trouble it would be but I gotta say DHL looks really good right now.

Heads up. There is a major postage rate hike for packages come Monday and it is going to impact us getting our pieces back.

Here's my shipment as an example. I had 10 pounds in a 24"x18"x18" box; this cost me $20 to ship from TX to CA. The post office is switching to Dimensional Weight to determine postage. When you calculate the size of my box, the post office says it's DW is 40 pounds and they will charge for whichever is greater, weight or DW. So it will cost me $40 to get it back the same way it went less than a month before. Ouch!

I just will give you the evil eye if you wait until the absolute last minute. ;)

Awesome! I needed another evil eye for my collection.   :P

I'll send you the project resume that will have all the text you need. Just pick and choose what you want to include.

Cool. If you could get that out to me soon it would be good. I've got a new contract job coming up and my time is going to be limited.

Hebert. Everybody always wants to give me an extra "r".   :P

A little note on this one. This one was really well packed with bubble wrap. While openning some of the pieces came off. We'll have to repair on site.

Crap. Well I tried.

A small request. Can you glue the loose ends of the "wires" coming from the R5/poles to the other R5 part on the walls? It should be on each side of the tab at the bottom. I would have done it myself but it seemed it would be safer to ship in parts.

Oh, and please don't use hot glue on those grey parts that came off the back. It will melt the plastic they are made of.

(again I'd suggest Krylon but the Rustoleum might work too).

The Rustoleum didn't require priming on plastic; it had a very good bond too.
I don't think I looks overly metalic but I guess ymmv:

Anyhow, Paul should have my stuff now so he can take a look it and see if it's a direction he wants to go or not.  ;)

I do have shiney metalic black and that would look cool with the plastic girders on the outside looking like supports.

Just a suggestion:
http://rustoleum.com/product.asp?frm_product_id=643&SBL=1

I used this on several plastic parts (door panels, verticle pipes, "a/c unit" in back) of my buildings and the adhesion and dry time was excellent. I used the "dark bronze" which looks grey to me, but they also have a black. Got the stuff at either Wal-mart or Home Depot.

I like the idea of the foam core printout of the web site. We need something in our booth. Feel free to make it so.

I'll see if I can get a decent quality printout then.

I'd also like to have one page panphet or sheet describing what the Ultimate Group Project is and maybe some pictures of our work.

I can put that together if you want to give me the text for it. I'm not a writer. :P

It really depends on how many hundreds of dollars I want to spend on this thing. We do have donated money that is going towards a booth banner, touch up supplies, booth supplies (ie internet) and swag but that will get eaten up very quickly. I guess it all depends on the size of the discount and if we really want to give out something more than stickers.

If you look at the link above it gives you a list of the regular and disccount prices on the various items available. I know I don't have the money for anything like that, but since you mentioned it I figured I get you the info.   8)

Personally, I always dig free stickers but then that comes from 20 years of skateboarding culture.  ;D

I was thinking it might be neat to mount a print out of the website on foamcore and display it at the booth. The "concept" when I designed the site was sort of to be in scale with figures almost like a playset might be. Could be neat to have a custom or two standing in front looking at the monitors. Any thoughts?

I bought the cheap value t-shirt, the wing logo hat and the smaller sticker. All logos have been approved by Mary Franklin so we are allow to give away shirts and stickers away at the show. Once the sticker arrives, I'm going to scan it and print out about five hundered of them to give out.

Instead of scanning the sticker, I could send you a file to print from so the quality will be better. Give me the size of your stickers and I'll resize the image so that it stays sharp. PM me and we can work that out.

What do you think about buying 8-10 value t-shirts to give away at the show for contests?

It looks like they have a bulk discount on 15 or more of the same item for the shop owner (I'm still learning about what they do so sorry I didn't have this info before): http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/shop_services.aspx#bulk

I don't see the value shirt on the list but if there is anything else you want, if you are willing to front the money, I can make the order and have it shipped to you.

THat stuff is so cool.  I haven't look closely at ordering.... what kind of turn around do we have on this?  Could we have a handful of items made for give-aways??

According to their site, except for the colored shirts, everything ships "in 2 business days". The colored shirts say "minimum 5 days" but they also say they "cannot guarantee delivery time for [beta] dark shirts."  Guess the process for those takes longer...

After that it would depend on which shipping method you choose.

I'm really curious how these are going to come out! I'm not going to be able to make an order right away so if anyone else does please let us know what you think of what you get.  :)

Ok, I've updated with colored shirts for men, women, and kids(figured out how to make that work); three types of cap; stickers; and mugs. Hope these all work out!

After the show, if anyone would like to donate some high resolution pictures I'd be happy to do up more stuff for this.
