The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series Sales and Discounts
« on: February 28, 2024, 04:10 PM »
I've been tempted to get an Indy figure and wonder what the experts (Jeff) would suggest.

Sorry, no help here - I did not buy into the Black Adventure Series 6" stuff.  My personal boycott of Hasbro for not making any 3.75" Dial of Destiny figures.

Finally got a chance to get through the first three episodes last night.  Pretty good so far.  Definitely looking forward to seeing how they close this out and what kind of ending they have in store for the crew.

Are we just not going to talk about how Scorch is just walking around with Hemlock?

Scorch first popped up early in the show and Filoni played it a bit coy, but I think it was last March'23 that they finally confirmed that trooper was indeed the same Scorch.  I think he's been in 4-5 episodes now.

It's not just Season THREE (in which we should have gotten more than a few figures by now, one being one of the title characters), it's the FINAL Season.

Where's the strike while the iron's hot mentality?

It drives me crazy that BS6" has all the main characters in both the Season 1 and Season 2 looks meanwhile TVC only has S1 Hunter.  Add in the fact that we're getting a SECOND try at Bad Batch Rex before any of the rest of the bad batch crew is just stupid.   ::)

This one's going to be interesting since a number of the characters from my 2023 list have been announced since last year's poll.

Agreed.  Last year, I asked for "any" version of the main Rebels crew.  Now we're getting all of the Season 3/4 looks as well as a couple figures with Season 1/2 looks too (Kanan, Zeb).  So nice to actually have some new slots to fill, getting items from a wish list seems to be too rare these days.

Also, for this year, I've decided to abandon my wishlist slots dedicated to modern TVC Droids figures.  I still want to see Hasbro try that (and Ewoks), but now that we're getting The Ghost I'm a bit more interested in filling out more of the Rebels world in TVC.  Here's my votes for this year - all in 'realistic' TVC style, please.

The "Filling out the Rebels shelf/The Ghost table" Category:
- Ezra Bridger (Rebels - Season 1)
- Hera Syndulla (Rebels - Season 1)
- Sabine Wren (Rebels - Season 1)
- Darth Maul (Rebels - Old Master)
- Seventh Sister (Rebels)
- Eighth Brother (Rebels)
- ISB Agent Kallus (Rebels - Season 1)
- Reformed Alexsandr Kallus (Rebels - Season 4)
- Captain Rex (Rebels)
- Cikatro Vizago (Rebels)
- IG-RM Thug Droid (Rebels)
- Terba (Rebels)

The "It's Season THREE now Hasbro, WTF are you even doing" Category:
- Echo (The Bad Batch - Season 1)
- Tech (The Bad Batch - Season 1)
- Wrecker (The Bad Batch - Season 1)
- Omega (The Bad Batch - Season 1)
- Crosshairs (The Bad Batch - Season 1)

The "What Else Do I Want to Get My List to 20" Category:
- Dutchess Satine Kryze (TCW)
- Sha'a Gi (CW)
- Tarr Seirr (CW)

Not sure on the best place to put this so this seems as good as any -

Steve Evans updated his website with some nifty TVC photo-checklists.  Looks like the Ghost pack-in figures will get the special HASxxx numbering, while Sabine/Chopper will get standard VC#s.

VC307 Count Dooku
VC308 Finn (Starkiller Base)
VC309 Phase I Clone Trooper

VC317 Captain Rex

VC202 Ahsoka (Siege of Mandalore)
VC322 R7-A7
VC323 CH-33P (Cheep)
VC324 RG-G1 (G-G)

VC66A Salacious Crumb
VC325 8D8

VC332 Sabine Wren
VC333 Chopper (C1-10P)

Doesn’t seem like good value to me at all.

I paid ~$30 in 2020 for the 5POA CTS Jedi Order 4-Pack just to get the BAD R7-A7 figure the first time.  I guess it's only fitting that I'm paying $70 to get the BAD G-G and kitbash Cheep ($35 each) this time.   ::)

I'd have preferred a white-box troop builder 4-pack style release for $55-60, but $70 is the price you pay for the "carded figures in a box" gimmick.  Just be glad it wasn't $80 like the Jabba Goon carded 4-pack was?

It is tempting to wait it out though as the Amazon TBB 4-pack and OWK 3-pack both hit clearance prices 30-50% off at times.

I must have missed the pipeline announcement on this.

From the 1/23 Hasbro Pulse Star Wars fanstream.

Which of these have we had before and which are all/mostly new?

Ahsoka - repack/repaint of VC202 sculpt
R7-A7 - repaint/repack of the BAD sculpt figure from "Celebrate the Saga" Jedi Order 4-pack
RG-G1 (G-G) - 1st time release; BAD sculpt repaint
CH-33P (Cheep) - 1st time release; kitbash using VC304 Chopper with a new dome/leg/parts

Pre-orders close 2/14 at 11:59pm ET.

Reminder that today is "pre-order or get off the pot" day for this set...  Hasbro says there may be very limited availability once the set arrives this fall, but today is the last day to lock in a pre-order if you haven't already.

He's slightly larger than the Black Series 6" scale Grogu:

That is my favorite one so far...

Was thinking the same thing, and was bummed that they're looking at including a Mando with them... I'd rather it be a little less expensive and not have him, but I get it.

If they are going with Mando, I'm hoping it's S1/E1 Mando with his pre-beskar armor.  It's been a long time since we got that look for him and it might be nice to get that version again since I have so many Beskar Mando figures now.  Give him a nice soft goods upgrade over that original VC166 Mando and bring back the pulse rifle for disintegrating Jawas.

it will get repacked at least one more time with Kuill.

Yeah, that feels like a safe bet these days.  I am dumb so I'll likely buy a second Mando/Blurrg just in case they don't though.
