I didn't pre-order these so I'm hoping I don't miss out on them.  I couldn't afford the pre-order at the time so I held off...  I may need to put in some kind of order though to SWS or something here...  The first was great, the next two look fantastic too...

I still want an obstacle course for them. :)

Power of the Jedi / Re: Best POTJ Fig?
« on: April 3, 2006, 08:50 PM »
Articulating him is the only thing I think they could do to improve him.  The sculpt of the POTJ figure was dead-on and a removable hat with working goggles was unheard of at the time really...  At least at that level of quality.

I think the articulation could be improved considering how well done Sun Fac is...  Similar joints would help Sebulba, but nonetheless he's still a great figure that holds up well.  Unlike, say, Duros...  I loved that figure at the time, but considering what Hasbro does today, Duros should have some knee joints and elbow/wrist joints...  Kind of funny how he just now LOOKS good but falls well short of quality we've seen in the last 2 or 3  years.

I just saw one at the local show here last month for $5...  He was hard to find upon his initial release but tons of his figure trickled out over time.  Definitely not a $20 figure on any level...

Those pictures of Jared's are outstanding.

The guy has the touch...  And those figures are amazing.  The Scout is easily (by image only of course) Hasbro's best work in the VOTC/VTSC line if you ask me.  Simply outstanding detail there.

I can't wait to own a couple dozen AT LEAST of that figure.  The way he sits on the bike...  I ALMOST could care less if I got a new bike...  almost.  I still want a new scale one. :)

Jared, my hat's off to you for the highest quality photos on the net, nice work.

This day cannot end soon enough.

Ain't that the truth...  AFD gets old to me, but still this was hardly anything compared to some of the garbage posted around the net.

Nice touch of going with two things people wouldn't go totally ape**** over too...  Not like you posted something outrageous.  That was crafty of you.

Yeah I gotta find people wanting Senate Pods and NOW.  :)  The figures though, are "eh"...  I never got that Palpy figure I'd get him cheaper later, so I'll take it...  Yoda, I can BS that into customizing fodder I think, as it is generic...  The pod I could give 2 ***** about honestly so I'm all about selling those to people who want htem.

The Clones though...  Oh Glorious Clones.

Those are some fantastic early shots.  Can't wait to pick this set up hopefully in some extra quantity if I can afford it.  Nice to have confirmation of which Clone they used too.

That's a nifty figure, and ya get two.  Not too bad a deal there for certain.

I think most will look past the Palpy/Yoda easily and while I don't care for it, I'm sure most will enjoy the Senate Pods.  Hell who wouldn't dig displaying most of their Senator figures in that thing?  The Clones are almost icing on the cake then.  Nice set.

Forget design flaws, the Alliance won simply because the Empire doesn't read the owner's manual.   ;)

Just bustin' your pair, of course Tarkin I mean Ryan...

The scout disappointed me.  It was one of the first figures that were a sign of bad things to come.  Little articulation and a goofy assed pose...  That would carry us from late 2002 onward unfortunately till at least 2004.

Sebulba's highly overlooked.

Wonder how they'd do that figure today?  Could be pretty interesting but he wasn't bad at the time either.  He'd be tough to do better honestly.

For my money they're part of the gunnery crews...  The uniforms still appear black to me, and the helmets appear to be just the top-halves of the Gunner's helmet with no mouth piece.  I'm gonna think they're GUnnery crewmen of some sort or another for the time being.

Celebration IV speculation?

Where's Rob's Avatar at then?  That's my speculation...

Hey mouse, welcome over here...  You'll obviously know a lot of us already since GH and JD have always had good relations.

Hope life's treating you good man, glad you came by and like I say for everyone feel free to have a look around and join into the chit chat if you'd like.  Our whole thing with the FC Presidency is pretty out there...  It's quite "fun". ;)

Vote Jeff Smentek in 2006 baby!  Yeah!

Or face our underwhelmed wrath.

I keep hearing this too...

Sounds like Hasbro has some splainin' to do...  That's a real shame too considering how anticipated it is.  The legs sound really interesting if they're pre-posed.  I was thinking it looked ok by photos but now...  Id unno.  I did think the legs looked spread apart awkwardly.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: The Motives Of Scalpers
« on: March 29, 2006, 05:34 AM »
I know a few locals who scalp just to pay for their own collection.

This is THE worst excuse people throw at you too...  I always hate when I hear this line of BS as the "excuse" that makes someone not a scalper when they're trying to defend their scalper ways...  I notice it a LOT at that otheR Site...  And to be honest if it were said here there'd be some punishment dealt because it's not condusive to a happy/good collecting community.

Yet you see it all the time, that people scalp and then say "but I collect and I only sell stuff to help me pay for my collection"...  I just can't stand that.  I don't know if it's the sheer stupidity of people who delude themselves into BELIEVING that it's ok or somehow not scalping, or if it's the possibility that they're saying it with the idea others are stupid enough to accept that...

Anyway...  What's this about?

Oh motives...  Well I think there's a comical tone to the original post but yeah obviously some kind of profit's there to some people.  Whether they actually make much or not I don't know...  It's probably little work to get up early and do that, especially if you actually live close to anything.  That's maybe the positive to living in Pittsburgh, nothing is close by so it's tough for scalpers too...  They do tend to hit multiple toys though, and that's where I think the real benefit is.

If you've got time to keep up with Hot Wheels, Marvel Legends, Star Wars, LOTR (at the time), Sportpicks, etc., etc., etc., and know what's hot and what's not, then it's maybe more beneficial...

That then is why I hate the "UGH" bull that Hasbro's dumped on it...  Without chases I think certain pieces of cow dung left the line be because of getting burned.  Now they have a reason to come to the aisle...

Not only does that now mean they're in flubbing things up on the UGH crap, but now they also probably will take a gander at other random basic figures they think are hot, and also the simple fact that these maroons leave the Hot Wheels aisle looking like a tornadoe hit it is annoying.  I see more Star Wars crap laying around, on the floor, on the lower shelves laying about, all because I know guys that aren't collecting are messing up the toy aisle because they don't care...  You see it where these people haunt the most (Hot Wheels for certain) and now you see it even more in Star Wars.  I know I'm noticing it more this year already...  Total BS, and all thanks to Hasbro's official "head-up-their-ass" idea of the year.
