Can't say I'm wanting to do a trade right now.  Too expensive...  I'm biding my time on all these.

People felt the same way when 3-Rivers Stadium was blown up to make way for PNC park and Heinz Field.

I mean, tons of championship years played there.  Time marches on though, and in the end it's for the best.  I long for the day the Pens get a new arena here because it A) Solidifies the team, and B) it means something NEW to our city that time forgot.

I love "The Igloo" though...  I know it like the back of my hand.  A new place added to the skyline would be nice though, just because it'd be good for the city.

And if they pull off anything as nice as PNC park, I'd be ecstatic.  It's a great park for a horrid team.  :)

around here it's slim pickings.

Few planes remain at all.  The odd P-40 here and there, and that's it for planes.  Winter Shermans are in abundance, and the grey Tiger's out and about.

Beyond that, I really see nothing of interest.  I'd looked for a winter Tiger...  I've even heard people find them on sale already which I'd kill for one for cheap (I have a grey plastic original version, but would love a steel winter white one).

The FW I'd buy if I found it, especially if it was cheap, but I haven't seen one up here.

With shipping, big items like those can be costly to get from out of state...  if you guys find the Winter Tiger or FW on sale, let me know.  I should talk to Justin at some point soon...  If I can get to FFURG chat some time anyway.

Are you finding them full price or cheaper generally?

Honestly, if I'd ever even SEEN a FW I'd be able to help you Bob, but that plane NEVER saw the light of day in Pittsburgh.  At least not so far anyway.

Hell, I just got a D-Day Spitfire from SMB because they put them on sale ($35 guys, that's a damn good price).  Another plane I was die-hard wanting (even as a non-plane guy) and another one that didn't show up here.

I'd say it's likely the screws are all the same size, so if there's others on the plane you may do well to unscrew one and get a couple copies of it.

Contacting 21st MIGHT yield good luck too.  They're surprisingly good with the public.  Could try anyway.

If I based it on my local Toy Show (bi-annual, and soon to be tri-annual), I'd say Star Wars surprisingly.  Every table has SOMETHING SW on it every show.  I'm always astonished by that.

Overall though, I dunno...  I follow toys, but not closely enough to monitor who's buying what.  I'll be damned if I can find a new LOTR figure out here though for my brother.  I haven't seen new stuff for months and months.  He's WAY behind and X-Mas is coming.   >:(

Jeff just helped me with some VOTC figures (Stormie, Fett, and Yoda), and they arrived well packed, quickly, and minty fresh.

Can't ask for more...  Thanks Jeff.

Other Collectibles / Re: WOTC SW Miniatures (RPG/CMG/Clix)
« on: October 28, 2004, 08:36 PM »
I have played it, but I personally like the West End Games version better and rather use the new minis in the old game.

Bob (Bobafett14) is playing it though, or tries to when we have a meeting, so that's one...  If "Blue Harvester" is who I think he is, he too is playing it, or at least as much as Bob is.

It's a good enough game.  You guys should try playing some time, but I like combat games between "armies" more.  IE: Squads of troops, larger forces on a table, little more "military" feeling than WOTC's game.  WEG's version was tailor made for combat with troops.  "Heroes" were a secondary aspect to the game that was possible but not as important.

Generally the hero was a squad sergeant or something.  :)  Some guys snuck in Han leading a group of commandoes, or Luke or someone as a "goal" to be rescued or some crap.

I haven't even bought a set myself.  I bought commons from some local guys just to army build.  That's the extent of my minis buying.  Can't find them for a price I'm pleased with paying though.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Gold Leader... Weirdest Figure I Ever Bought
« on: October 28, 2004, 04:15 PM »
I have no qualms with people who dump an error or "variant" on Ebay myself.  It's the one area of scalping I see no shame in anyone taking up.  If someone's willing to go that route for a damaged good, then so be it.

Had I not pulled this one off the card, I'd have put him on Ebay as a "First time selling" kinda thing.  I've never put anything up for sale so I'd just get the experience in.  And hopefully make a buck off of this poor excuse for a figure.

Guy's got so much wrong with him...  He's not even great custom Fodder really because of his 2 right legs.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Why Lucas tinkered with Star Wars!
« on: October 28, 2004, 04:00 AM »
Can anyone say "Out of touch"?

Seriously, I don't mind the changes overall...  I'm happy with lots from the original SE, and the DVD's didn't bug me or I felt actually were improvements.

That said, to not admit reality (that people...  LOTS of people.  Hate your "revisions") is assinine at best, completely, utterly, 100% incredibly naieve and stupid to say at worst....

I'd say he hit the "worst" mark moreso.

Lucas even acknowledges dislike of the changes.  I mean, for god's sake wake up dude.  Accept that what you're doing ISN'T appreciated like you think it is.  Sales in "Star Wars" mean nothing.  People buy this crap because they like Star Wars...

E1 had HUGE sales and is considered by most to be a terrible film.  Wake up to reality bub...  Just because it has Star Wars stamped on it doesn't make it "great".  That goes for the DVD's and everything else.  Lucas is more accepting of that mind-set than this schmuck is even...  That is incredible.

If one of us can find these available at the $10 rate (on 2-packs), I think we may be able to work together to distribute extras and such...  Divvy up the fundage.

Like I said, this is fodder to me...  I'm wanting Skeletons, and maybe one of each human (for potential parts), but the skeletons mostly.  Those in this scale are like finding virgins in a *****house.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What kind of car would you buy if.....
« on: October 27, 2004, 11:54 PM »
Sticking with the Chrysler Sebring Conv...

Being a car you have to drive all the time, and all that jazz, that's why I went with it in the first place.  Comfy, practical, reliable...  Lot of the choices would be less than practical come crunch time and your car needs any level of work...  Especially the Euro fans.

While Smileyfaceguy is always a welcomed man, I disagree on jeeps...  2 of my friends have them.  They're some of the WORST rides I've ever been in, as far as comfort goes.  Bumpy, rigid suspensions don't make for comfort, but they're highly reliable vehicles that really perform above and beyond many 4x4's (even when stock) in bad weather.  Front wheel drive cars perform for what I need though, since I don't do off-roading, so that's my aim there.

Nick's choice of the new Mustang was borderline a choice for me...  Since no release yet, and nothing to really compare it to, I was hesitant.  I like its looks though.  It's a really incredible car though, from looks and its supposed features.  Dunno about traveling on bad roads in it, especially if it's RWD, though I don't know if it's RWD or not.  I'd just assume it is.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Episode III - Preview Figures (SPOILERS)
« on: October 27, 2004, 11:28 PM »
Yes and no...  Yes because it's there, but no because I think the feature it's accomodating is quite cool.  I'd actually kind of dig more sabres with that...  Maybe not so prominent/large, but it's a neat enough sabre feature.

Implies a removable blade too...  I loved those, even though some were breaking their figures because of it.  I haven't broken one yet, so it's a feature I highly enjoy.
