Title: Valorum w/yellow-tinted bubble?
Post by: obi_robz on August 5, 2003, 05:50 PM
Am I right in thinking that there were a few Collection 3 figures like Valorum and Boss Nass that at one point got released with yellow-tinted bubbles (I’m sure I heard that somewhere)? I hope so because if not, my Valorum is the first of my modern figures to turn to the Yellow Side   :(

Anyone else have a yellowed Valorum? How about other Episode One figures – have they yellowed yet?

Cheers,
Rob   :)

I haven't heard of yellow-tinted bubbles before... this is a first.  None of my EP1 figures have any yellow-tinting to their bubbles.

 ???

Generally, a bubble will not yellow unless exposed to sunlight.

The thing is, my figure has been kept in a dark room for 4 years. I also found this UK online store that’s selling these tinted Valorums just like mine:

And I also found this:

None of my other 49 Episode One figures are showing any sign of yellowing at the moment.

I'd say it is probably a bad batch of plastic...could just be againg faster or there was a problem when it was made...if it is not oily or brittle then I lead towards the latter

I read the ad and to me the disclaimer on the bottom that the bubble may be prone to cracking leads me to beleive that it is not a yellow colored plastic but a bad batch of plastic like Scott mentioned, It seems it would be rapidly destablizing.
