Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...
« on: November 16, 2005, 11:38 PM »
No reason to blast you over that...  I'm not a WM fan myself given how their stores are usually a blight on any community they enter...  I can't stand going into them (generally...  There's one nice out of the way WM I hit often) most of the time and only do so out of necessity with this hobby.  Target's more my taste since I just find them to be more efficient and easier to navigate...  Equally pissy employees, but generally cleaner and less packed stores.

I wish Etailers were just more reliable and competitive or I'd go to them constantly I'm sure.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NHL 2005-2006 Thread
« on: November 16, 2005, 11:29 PM »
Nice night for the Pens!  Beating up our state rivals the Fliers in a BRUTAL game.  Lots of fighting/shoving.  Hard hitting game typical of Philly.  Crosby was beat around in the game, especially by Hatcher, but Crosby wound up winning it in OT on a breakaway.  If you guys are following him at all, this kid is the real deal all the way...  He's a marvel to watch him play, he's feisty as **** for his size, and he's REALLY fast (something Lemieux didn't have).

Mario's forever in my heart my favorite athlete ever.  He was why I played hockey, he's why I still want to play hockey despite my age/physical health, and he's forever my favorite Penguin on or off the ice...  But damn I like Crosby. :)  He really took charge tonight, and every time he was on the ice after his penalty, he was just electric.  Anyone who can do that at will is a superstar.

I love watching him mix it up with big vets too.  He wasn't taking **** from Hatcher and that is something that you have to respect as a player.  All the bigger Crosby is and he still is giving the finger to the big arrogant D of the league.  Nice.

Other Collectibles / Watches Talk
« on: November 16, 2005, 03:31 AM »
I'm just curious...  I was looking to get a new watch and was wanting something sorta high quality, but now I'm at a dilemma...

I see a neat Vader watch at the SWS.com that's like stainless with black plating on it so it's cool looking and different but it also has a face that glows I guess and things...  It is like $135, a little pricey.  Does anyone own it to give a little opinion on it?

I was thinking that, for the price, I'd almost hate to wear it often for fear of damaging it.  It looks great but I'd only likely wear it from time to time just to take care of it.

So to that end, I recall hearing/seeing something about an "Imperial" focused watch.  It's more basic and like a designer watch (I have a guess watch, and it looks like that sort of), and the plate on the watch just has an Imperial Logo rather than anything in particular or flashy.  It looks like a quality watch but not too flashy is all.  The problem though here is that I don't know where you even buy that "Imperial" logo watch.  Any ideas?

Any help's appreciated...  :)

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Outrider Action Fleet
« on: November 16, 2005, 03:25 AM »
Action fleet's a neat area for potential EU vehicles making it out.  God knows EU's not an area Hasbro likes to tread but with AF it seemed to work.

Unfortunately the AF line seems dead in the water to Hasbro...  Short of the Titanium junk.

I'd buy some nice AF vehicles if they were to reintro the line at some point...  The outrider/YT series freighter would be cool to me, but so would about 1000 other ships from video games too...  of course, the Outrider showed up in X-Wing: Alliance and Rogue Squadron so it's right on my list with TIE Defender re-release, Stormtrooper Transport, AT-AT Barge, Rebel Medium Hovertank, Rebel Heavy Tracked Tank, Z-95 Headhunter, or TIE "Avenger" Advanced.

AF seems the most likely place (if it were around) to see many EU vehicles though...  of course a ship that is the same make/model as the Outrider was in ANH:SE so it's possible it'd surface based on that alone.  The Sentinel Transport did afterall, if I recall.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Future Battle/Multi Packs
« on: November 16, 2005, 02:42 AM »
No, the army builder packs Tedious speaks of are white mailer box 4-packs...  They did a Commtech Stormie set, Sandtrooper set (the only good set, though the Stormies were nice at the time), Endor Rebels, and Fleet Troopers...  They're ok sets, and I'd take them over the Enterainment Earth concept of makign the 4-packs a display item that costs you an arm and a leg if you want to actually build a sizeable army.

The astromechs fall under that latter category.  Nice figures, bad packaging for supposedly "army building" focused sets.

I'm ok with Battlepack army builder sets like Target's Coruscant Clone set.  I think that's neat, and if they used quality figures like VOTC Stormtroopers I'd be happy as a clam to buy these for $25 - $30...  The idea's neat but I don't see it happening only because Hasbro's so ass backwards about how it handles army builders and exclusives.  The best you can hope for is overpriced sets, or things you couldn't find enough of.  TRU getting in droves of 5-packs of just VOTC Stormtroopers is a pipe dream, but it'd be great.

I'm glad everyone's enjoyed the site.  Chris deserves all the credit for having JD up and running...  The staff all applaud "boss" for his work.

I think honorable mentions for JD staffer who rocks should go to Jeff and Jared too...  They do a TON that many don't realize.  All the guys are great, and I'm thankful I accepted a spot on here a while back.  I couldn't have realized how fortunate I was at the time to be asked to jump ship.

Dammit, I'm god and I say to knock that stuff off.  :)

But also I forgot to mention replies that go like this:

 ;D :D ;) :o :( >:( :-[ :P ::) ??? :'( :-* :-\

I think the use of multiple smiley faces as a reply is just to hide the fact that they don't know the answer to what was asked or discussed.  That way expressing every "emotion" visibly means you were bound to appear like you understood what was said, even though you haven't got a clue.

18803
Agreed, and I hate that fact...  However the Speederbike is also too big.  I'd LOVE a resculpted bike with a "stand" for it so it appears to be hovering.  Pack in a SA Scout and I'm on cloud nine.  :)

The Snowspeeder's one I'd really like resculpted, as is the AT-ST.  Probably my top 2 resculpts actually.

As far as re-releases, I'm all for a grey Darth Vader TIE Fighter re-release sans projectiles.  If they did a damaged wing one, that'd be even cooler.  I'd also take a grey release of the ROTS TIE Fighter too.

I'm not opposed to a TIE Bomber re-release either.  It's a to-scale ship and all.  The problem is though that the last release didn't do as well.  Too soon I think.

I'd like a blue "Ralph McQuarrie" release of the A-Wing...  I'd also kind of dig it if Hasbro re-released an EU paintjob on the Landspeeder (Saga) too.

And if the CC mold exists, I think it's a must with a variant pilot.

I'd take an AT-RT with the basic carded figure as well, and a new, more realistic paintjob.

Beyond that though, I'm more wanting new versions of vehicles than re-releases.  And I'd avoid the larger things like AT-AT's and whatnot.  They've proven they don't sell, and to me they're just an anchor on the modern line when they come out to thunderous silence.

I think GNT has grown up quite a bit actually, from what I have seen over the last year.

 :P

I can't agree...  GNT still posts one-line replies just to see himself speaking, he still over-moderates, etc...  He's slacked off on his posting which is fine, but he had more problems socially than spamming.  Plus given what arrogance I saw out of him over time, both publicly and privately, I can't say I'll ever look at him with an ounce of respect.  He's shown none to me or others, so I have no need to do so for him.

*Looks around*

 ???

I thought this was Rebelscum?

Nah, you'll notice the lack of one line replies, rampant and flagrant misspellings, and people aren't fighting with the local trolls.  Oh yeah and GNT didn't come in and add a bug-eye smiley to the thread's title or anything like that.  Those are the tell-tale signs I'd say.

I have a couple AOTC cream BD's Justin, but unfortunately the only things I'm hot on the trails after are final 5 figures and army builder things (VOTC Stormies, etc., which I'm sure you don't wanna give up any, haha).

Lemme know what your list may be like if you have one though.  Just shoot me a PM or whatnot.

Thanks,

Jesse

Well we're not bone dry on XD, and sometimes the Battle of the Bulge wave appears, but Wal-Mart is **** for distribution of anything, so the Sahara and BotB figures aren't too common here...  The Japanese, Pilots, and Patton figures also are non-existant.  The only thing I ever see on this side of town are the Marines, which are cool figures mind you, but I need some damn diversity! :)

These may show, you never know, so keep your eyes open at Wal-Mart stores out your way. :)

If you guys are wondering how the RC holds up to the Hasbro astro's, it's perfect.  Not poseable mind you, but it fits in AOK.  I lovethese as a sort of "sub" category.

I'm desperately searching for many of these to do some "modern" army building with.  My BBI military figures have had a noticeable lack of targets to shoot at!  >:(

The figures look cool Ryan, glad you could find them!  Pittsburgh his still an XD Drought zone so no Sahara figures to be found...  No Battle of the Bulge, no Japanese...  Just Marines.  :)
