Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Torchwood?
« on: January 2, 2007, 10:27 AM »
I've got all eight episodes now if anyone wants it. Great show. It's kind of a cross between the X-files and Men in Black. I don't see why they don't release this show here. All they would have to do is clean up the language a little and reshoot one nude scene so far.

It was for the UGP resume that I had to send into LFL. They wanted personal or business references from each of the UGP leadership.

You don't want to place large buildings in a way that they will obstruct the view of the details of the layout...  For instance, if you placed one large building in your scene in the center of town, you obscure the rear portion behind that building from various angles the people have to look at your scene...

Excellent suggestion. We need to assume we will have a back wall for the booth. Taller stuff should go in the back. Maybe we can even print out a forced prespective backdrop so the tower still looks like its in the middle even if its in the back of the model.

I was thinking that there could also be a set of bars going over the top of the dio in order to hang small micromachine ships from it for scale. It would be cool to have some air traffic in the proper scale.

That's ok. Its taken care of. Thanks for sending them. :)

Since I haven't heard from Ryan and Scott, I've changed their positions from group leaders to supervisiors in order to meet the 3pm express mail deadline. That way I don't need references from them. Of course that is only on paper. They still have the same responsibilites and ranking as always.

The packet has been emailed off and a hardcopy has been overnighted.

I think we also need to agree on placement of each building in the city and how big of an area each one gets. Lets decide what each neighborhood will have in it and what building stands next to each other. We can then figure out how much room each building will eat up on the board.

All I need is Ryan and Scotts business references.

Glassman's pictures are the ones that I think will sell this to LFL. I'm including them in my submission. Do you think we can actually make this? The sail looking tower is what really makes the diorama.

Celebration IV - Ultimate Group Project / Re: Niub Niub
« on: December 29, 2006, 10:32 AM »
Just let me know the date and time.

I definately think we could find a place to display and take pictures of the results. I could get permission to use our church building for setup and display during C4. I'm only about an hour drive from the LA convention center. We could advertise where it will be shown and post viewing hours.

As for Niub Niub's project, I wonder how much help he is actually going to get building the project during the show. Customizing has really decreased in popularity in the past year since the drying up of clones for newbies to paint. If the hard core customiziers are buiding the UGP who is going to be available to help Niub build his?

I'm so sad. All of your stuff at GTG is sold out. Any idea when Yarna D'al Gargan and Hoover will be for sale?

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Custom Longhorn Clone Trooper

I've got to admit that is one fine looking clone trooper. I'd expect nothing less from Chewie. Good idea to put it in a shadow box. I think it would be even cooler to be part of a trophy of some kind.
