This seems like just rumor and speculation at this point, but I guess it's nice to know that they (LFL) are still at least trying to make some new Star Wars movies to go along with the endless stream of D+ shows.

I can't keep things straight, but is there anything for the big screen that is still moving forward? Is the Rogue Squadron movie still happening, or did that get officially killed?

Rogue Squadron was delayed (due to Patty Jenkins schedule), not outright killed.
I think back in May LFL or KK had mentioned that Taika Waititi's film would likely be the next theatrical Star Wars movie though they really haven't said anything yet for title or release date or anything like that.

"Lindelof is writing the new Star Wars script with Justin Britt-Gibson, a young and rising writer who worked as an executive story editor on Guillermo del Toro’s vampire drama, The Strain, and wrote episodes of Starz’s The Counterpart, a series that deals with parallel dimensions and starred J.K. Simmons."
"sources say that the story would take place after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, although it would not be a continuation of the Skywalker saga. It could, however, feature some of the characters from the Star Wars trilogy made in the 2010s."

You have to wonder who they might be talking about because I would think:
-Daisy Ridley? Since it's not a continuation of the Skywalker saga, I'd say no
-Oscar Isaac has moved on,
-John Boyega has said he is definitely done with Star Wars,
-Kelly Marie Tran probably would be out with all the abuse she took and her role in the last movie was minimal,
-Chewbacca could be a possibility as are R2 and 3PO
-Maybe something focused on Connix or Maz?
-Snap Wexley is dead...

I think they could still use Rey. From a certain point of view the Skywalker saga could be over (e.g. she shunned her Palpatine roots and became a Skywalker). The future adventures could feature her, but not be about the Skywalker legacy.
I think it could be fun to see her, Chewie, R2/3PO/BB8 running around doing different adventures.
I'd also be fine with all new characters (like they did with Mando) that interact with some of the ST characters even if they're not central to the story.

Yeah, you could be right about Rey, Dave. One thing that could be interesting would be to explore background characters like Sidon Ithano and Quiggold.

I vote for the Adventures of Zorii Bliss and Babu Frik. I would watch the hell out of that movie because A) Babu Frik is awesome and B) Keri Russell is HOT.

How about an adventure with former troopers looking for their family? Center it around Jannah and Finn and Boyega might just be in. Throw in BD Williams and we get a send-off to Lando Calrisian.

Forgot about that plotline, too. I guess what this really says is that I haven't watched the movies in a long while.

Yeah, the movie has nuggets but for the most part, meh.
I am intrigued with exploring this storyline and the parallels with the good guys removing force-sensitives from their family.

My 11-year old daughter is SO HAPPY that they are making more Rey Star Wars movies and I'm happy for her that she gets to see her favorite character again in a new movie.

I wonder if this is a backdoor Episode X. Regardless of what Lucas says at this point, his original plan was for 12. Granted, that plan involved not even seeing the Emperor until episode VII. The one thing I found striking about the sequels in terms of advertising and talking points from Lucasfilm, is that they really didn't emphasize the episode numbers. It was all TFA and not Episode VII: The Force Awakens. I think that was a huge mistake. I guess they could be hedging their bets, but to continue the story from the sequels not make a new trilogy seems to be mistake. Granted, I don't think they really storyboarded out the sequels so who knows what we will get.
