It was here a while back that I saw someone convert the packaging for the Death Star Conference multi-pack into a diorama scene, and I thought it was a great idea.  All of the figures in mine are standing with the chair backs hot-glued to their bodies  :grin: , but appear to be sitting because I raised the table level and put a piece of black foamcore in the front.  Vader is standing on a piece of styrofoam for proper height too.

After a couple months' break, I decide to get back into dio-making, at least to make a few smallish to moderate sized ones  . Usually I choose to make dios based on how many figures can go in it, but this was pretty iconic and I was tired of propping the carbonite Han slab on my wall!  Here are some pics of the styrofoam frame I made first, and several pics after plastering with Plaster of Paris, lightly sanding, and spraypainting.  I didn't want to try the complex lighting of the scene, so I opted to spray-paint fake lighting instead.  I used orange for the alcove to mimic the lighting under the slab, and I made a posterboard template shaped like a grating or blinds, and sprayed tan to appear that the lighting comes from above.  These pics are taken outside to reveal some detail, but the dio looks better in lower indoor lighting.  I'm going to make the 2 beast heads to prop on the walls, and the 2 tables with fruit on the floor to either side as well.

Well, I was so mad Hasbro claimed that the hood up Han Hoth head wasn't approved by Lucasfilm (why?!) that I thought I could make a version for myself.  So I removed the head from a Saga brown coat Han, drilled a hole, trimmed down the collar a bit, and cut out the necktie from the hood down piece and glued it in place.  The goggles and cap brim are from the vintage version, cut to fit the new head and glued in place.  I wanted to make this version to put into a mini-scene on Hoth I made, part of which is in the last pic.

First of all, I want to say how incredible a job everyone has done; it has been an honor to have a few meager customs of mine among such incredible talent! (It makes me wish I had sent more than I did, but you know I think the city is WAY more populated than I ever imagined it would be!)  Also, major congrats to Chewie on the birth of his future SW collector; hope you have a few minutes to spare to see your wonderful buildings and figures in the UGP!

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to show or describe what your characters are up to thanks to the on-site project leaders.  Seeing them in different situations has been the most exciting for me (I love how Purple Pimp Daddy was involved in vehicular homicide!!)

Well, I thought I would take one of my DS Troopers and convert him over to the vintage style console operator from ANH.  I painted the tunic dark grey, drilled out the head of the POTF2 version and put a strapless helmet from the TAC version on him.  A small piece of wire painted black completes the figure.  I also have a comparison shot to the regular version, and note that I did the 'ol boil-and-freeze to both as well 

Hey everyone!  Just finished my latest dio (it was complicated as hell).  I'm still working on a few custom figures for it, but here are the completed pics.  If you're interested in the WIP, I have a thread at RS (sorry ) with several pics.  Hope you enjoy!





Here are various angles of the dio; you might notice a couple of minor customs, and I'm working on a few more.  I'm also greatly anticipating the VTAC Leia to replace the POTJ one, and the A-Wing pilot later in the year.  We need more pilots!!   

Hi all- I'm getting ready to start a ROTJ rebel meeting dio, and could use a few loose custom fodder figs.  They don't have to be complete or mint, but in as good a shape as possible.  I'd like to trade some loose CT Stormies either 1 for 1 or 3 for 2 if I can, with the following figures:
