Well of the Souls / Hasbro 3.75\\
« on: December 3, 2007, 04:55 AM »
Odd that they're releasing the Grail Tablet from LC in the first wave of Raiders. ???

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.  I was also initially concerned about those oversized "accessories" as well, especially the Staff of Ra headpiece and the golden Idol, but after seeing that pic Matt posted there, I'm feeling better about things.

I'm still on the fence with this line though, since I'm already in way over my head with the Star Wars stuff as it is.  I may play it like Scott, and just grab the SA Indy (carded and loose), for ***** and giggles.  Hell, many of us have the Kubrick of him mixed in with our SW Kubes, so I guess the same should hold true for the respective 4" lines.  I'm not overly excited about the rest of the characters/figures really.  However, if Hasbro made some cool dioramas to display these in, I may be inclined to rethink things.  Obviously they would never do that though, so I'm probably safe with just plunking down $15 on a couple Indy figures and calling it a day.  Hopefully.

Ah, hell - go ahead and deal me in.  I feel bad enough that I'm not running it, as usual.  The least I could do is participate...  Now whether I actually send anything out in a timely manner will be the question (just ask Hemish and Jeff).  :-X

The Legacy Collection / Re: More from The Force Unleashed?
« on: December 1, 2007, 03:09 PM »
There's more.   >:(

My sentiments, exactly.  I've long feared the day when Hasbro/Lucasfilm starting taking liberties with the classic Stormie, and colorizing him (cashing in) ala the Skittles Clones from the Prequels.  God, I hope this doesn't go beyond Force Unleashed...  :-\

Puke.

Big thanks to Paul for helping me and a friend out with some Disney exclusives from WDW.  Life saver!  Always a pleasure dealing Paul, one of the most generous guys you'll ever meet on the boards.  Thanks again Paul!

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NFL 2007-08

...so my prediction is a Green Bay win tonight..

Sure hope you're right Paul, even if it's just because of your jinx!  I'm also hoping that Romo's new "chicken of the sea" girlfriend has him a little distracted these days, and that Brett can finally get his first career win in Dallas.  I obviously wouldn't put any money on that, but I'd love to see Green Bay pull off the upset on the road, and take command of the NFC race.  Ridiculous that the second biggest game of the year isn't even nationally televised (on a regular channel), but is just being shown on the NFL network channel.  Guess we're hitting a sports bar tonight...

I suckered myself into picking these up today.

Well holy crap!  Looks who's decided to grace us with his presence again after disappearing for a year and a half!  :P  Welcome back, Pete!

I have to admit, the ROTJ set looks like a decent set, price not withstanding. I would bet that this will be the first one to go.

Oddly enough, this is the one I've been seeing the most of at the couple K-marts I've hit the past couple weeks.  Found some AOTC sets too, but have completely struck out on the third set so far, which I can't even recall what it is at this point.

What totally blows for me, is that last time, I suckered myself into collecting both a completely packaged set, and another set to keep "carded" (on top of a third/fourth set to actually open).  Since none of these are unique at all, I at least don't need any openers of them, but I think I'm still going to feel inclined to grab two of each.  6 x $30 =  >:(

Other Collectibles / Re: WOTC Star Wars Miniatures
« on: November 27, 2007, 05:17 AM »
I pointed that set out several posts up, Paul.  But yeah, it just hit stores this week.  I found the Target exclusive one you've got pictured there (w/ the bonus Bounty Hunter booster attached), at an Arizona Target several days ago for a whopping $60.  I'd definitely be interested in knowing if they'll be hitting elsewhere for cheaper though (w/o the bonus booster).

Definitely a cool set though.  The nice window box setup really makes me want to grab a second one to keep packaged.  Argh.  I actually bought two of them, and am going back and forth on whether to return one.  I hate annoying (expensive) collecting decisions like this...  >:(

No rest for the weary:  I found the repainted Shadow AT-AT, Imperial V-Wing, Hoth AT-ST, Trade Fed Tank, and "somewhat new" Snowtrooper on Speederbike at our WM tonight.

Let the repaint fans rejoice!  :P

Feedback / Re: Bad Trader Thread

SQUAD7 is a thief!

This seems to be a recurring problem with this guy.  It's probably about time we drop the ban hammer on him here at JD, to protect our trading community from any further problems with this clown...

Sorry to hear about your bad trade, but thanks for the head's up on this scammer.

The only thing that might suck worse than Bill Cable, is the actual day of his birth.

But Happy (belated) Birthday to that nasty pile o' suck anyway!  Hope it was a good one, Bill.  8)

« on: November 16, 2007, 03:10 AM »
Yeah, I'm really sorry to hear about this as well, and my thoughts and prayers will be with you and the Mrs., Chris.

My sister miscarried last month, and we've had two other close friends do the same recently.  It's unfortunately a more common thing than many people realize.  We know two others who have miscarried, who both wound up having perfectly healthy babies the very next year, so hopefully that's what'll happen for you guys as well.  Hang in there...

Huge thanks goin' out to my good friend and lifesaver Anthony here (again), for helping me fill the last glaring hole in my UGH collection, which was becoming increasingly worrisome.  What would I ever do without you?!  :P

Always good to see you, buddy.  Hopefully I can repay the favor - hell, any of your favors, sometime soon!

Newbies / Re: Hey! From Los Angeles
« on: November 1, 2007, 06:27 PM »
Hey there, manglord.  Welcome to JD!  So whereabouts in L.A. are you?  I'm in Santa Clarita.  We've got a good group of SoCal collectors here, many of which are in L.A. (mostly Valley and I.E.), so you should pop on into our SoCal Forum and introduce yourself to the gang.  We have occasional get-togethers (every couple months), and help eachother out with a lot of local trading as well...

Anyway, enjoy the site, and holler if you need anything!

- Matt
