That or any good background character really.  I noticed that the Tatooine garb isn't restricted to Tatooine, so I think they're great fodder for almost any planet's "common man".

The turbans maybe won't always fit in, though with a smuggler's outfit the headwraps could look really cool just as some different fashionable headwear "just because".  Maybe that's the norm on his planet, ya know?

Lots of possibilities with these figures though...  Their arm articulation though is a disappointment.  They don't swivel at the bicep as most XD figures have, thus they're not nearly as poseable as one would like them to be.  They are able to be worked with though, that's for certain.

Welcome aboard Mattdude...  Lotta folks go by first names around here so I'm sure you'll just be another Matt in no time.  :)  A popular name here.

Glad you're unlurking...  If you have any questions just ask, otherwise make yourself at home and jump right into any threads you find interesting.  Lots of good conversation and excluding myself the staff is fantastic.  I'm just dead weight really.  ;D

I think the Bib is nice too CHEWIE.  I've heard some complaints, but as a Senator-ish figure I'm cool with him from pics I've seen.  Leia's better IMO, and Han's the waves let-down considering how he was real involved in action in that costume but got the shaft on articulation.

I love Fortuna's belt feature to hide his dagger too, that's just a nice little extra.  Not sure on the paint/headsculpt till I get it though and that's where I hear more complaints than anything else.  Articulation, short of some elaborate cloth work, wasn't ever something I thought we'd get with him and for a figure like that, it doesn't bother me much...  A Jedi though?  They just need to either have Agen Kolar's robes or some good cloth ones (Evo Anakin's are perfect).  No two ways about it IMO.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Coruscant Wave
« on: January 1, 2006, 05:30 PM »
Looks like I might be ordering a case of this wave, just to make sure I get what I want.   ::)

I'm thinking along similar lines Spuffy, just so I'm assured I get SOME of these Clones.  I mean, I  lucked into one 501st Trooper and Shocks i have had to get through networking.  I sorta hate that.

A case may be the route I go with this wave though just for the simple fact I want multiples of all 3 figures pictured.  If the rest of the wave's good army builders or custom fodder, a case is my best option at this point to assure I at least get a jumpstart on a nice army.

Given Cody's importance and his grunts too, I'm gonna want more than the handful of shocktroopers I've managed.   :-\  That kind of worries me though.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: A good Boba!
« on: January 1, 2006, 05:27 PM »
I wouldn't disagree with this at all.  While I believe the Saga 06 Boba is a so-so compromise (definitely an improvement over the POC Fett's pre-posed legs, so that's a plus), I think it's tough to beat the VOTC Fett in quality.  Short of (no pun) his height maybe being a little off, he's a figure I'd gladly buy in an ESB Deco and even if they reworked the figure a little to make a Holiday Special paintjob Fett.

That'd be cool by me.

DD,

I just feel it's political in its tone, as his comments with which you are judging his character (for whatever reason) are politically based...  He said something political, backed out on it or whatnot, yada yada yada, but I see where you're coming from too.  I'm just asking to basically drop it as it could raise someone's feelings (and not just about how much they like Johnny Depp personally  ;D ).

That's all though...  Politics online get messy, so I'm just asking for some caution is all, as calling him out for backtracking on statements he made (and political ones no doubt) is calling his character out but it's central to a political issue.  So once again I just stress that anything politics isn't cool here, even that, but it's not a huge deal and doesn't need to be I believe.  I'm simply saying please don't.

Jack Mehoffer doesn't just lurk, he writes to me all the time.  He says you know about Greenday and that you saw their concert, you fibber you.

I think I know what you mean BrentS (welcome aboard btw), however I'm not sure you can make it work or if it just does...  I thought ours did that, but now I just can't tell.

I'm sure Chris (the boss) can address this when he sees the thread though and tell you if it does or not...  I'm obviously not the most savvy to be answering this. :)

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NFL Regular Season 2005-06
« on: January 1, 2006, 05:04 PM »
Yeah the black and gold played a weak defensive game early on...  They really were letting Detroit pass the ball way too much, and between a weak showing by the secondary and no effective blitzes they had their hands full.

Offensively they did a little better and there was definitely some top special teams play going on.

Pollamallu (I know I just butchered his name's spelling) had that awesome punch that forced a turnover.  That was a pro-bowl play, and a reason that guy is a big part of the STeelers future defensively.  Just amazing play, and the kind of thing even the best in the league would envy.

Some real quality play out of the Steelers at the 2nd half when they opened it up to a 2 TD game.  I had a feeling it was locked at that point but there was really no reason for me to feel that way that I can justify it, haha.  It coulda gone badly at any moment with a fumble or int.

Fun game though and Bettis got the fans in an uproar...  If he retires the city will miss him.  I think he has a home in Georgia and would likely be there to stay I'd think.  He's a huge part of Pittsburgh sports though.  I'd put him in there with any of our sports greats really, and to me he could be effective for another season or two.  I'm hoping he comes back to do the short work for us again.

Great game, and now it's a whole new season baby!

No worries on the thread Daigo-Bah, it's good to know you're back in JD Town...  Welcome again.

Glad damage wasn't too outrageous for you...  Sounds like a nightmare test of one's patience though, which can be just as trying.  I'm glad everything's seemingly working out ok though (?) for you.  Take it easy and it's good to have you around again. :)

Happy New Year to you all here at the site...  Another great one down.

Went to a mild party, played some games and that was about it.  A good and fairly calm evening is all I really wanted.

« on: January 1, 2006, 04:29 PM »
Well he's welcome to come over if he wants and join in the fun, I'm sure he knows of most (if not all) the members over here one way or another so it's not like it'd be an alien environment to him, but that's his perogative.  Some people like it there, some here, some elsewhere...  Different strokes for different folks.

He certainly wasn't a blight on their site though, considering what makes up the majority at Rebelscum these days...

I dunno what he did either.  I know Curto's not generally an unreasonable guy even if Dustin maybe is, but backing up one another on staff is also a big part of being a team...  Not knowing what's what, it's tough to say from our POV what gives.

I find it funny Rayne's the guy who gets slapped though...  WTF were the rules when other members were acting up?  I mean, there's guys openly scalping, there's people openly calling people names, people who instigate trouble routinely...  Hell, one of them we've sat and talked about what a massive tool in this hobby he is right in this very thread, and I think he got suspended once maybe?  He'd have been banned here for his first infraction of scalping that he did with his very first few posts, much less all the trolling...  I can't imagine Rayne did something worse, but you never know.

Sith happens, so if Rayne comes over he's got the clean slate here like everyone else...  Not that he's done anything I've noticed to even require a "clean slate".  Weird though.

I am guessing we're going over to my gf's friends tomorrow night...

I sorta am hoping I'm back for the South Park marathon though.  I don't really wanna be out and miss that.  :-\  Is that wrong of me?
