I'm totally down for animated Jawas. I'm not getting the animated line, but Jawas hold a specific interest for me. (I used to use an avatar of two animated Jawas.)

Animated Jawas, eh?  Between that and an ARF (?) trooper, I'm mildly intrigued.  Every time I try to ecape this line, they lure me back in...

Yeah, I thought both of those figures looked pretty good as well.  The Clone Wars line is really shaping up pretty nicely overall, the way it looks.

I am getting used to the style/look of the figures.  Most of the clonetroopers look nice.  Anyway, I will get the Padme and probably the Spacetrooper.  I doubt I get the astromech unless it's just something great in the series.

Looked through the Clone Wars Visual Dictionary, or whatever is was called, and the R3 droid is a replacement for R2 sent to Anakin from the council.  R2 gets "lost" in the movie apparently.

Looks like EE is now taking pre-orders for this wave (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/aff-home.asp?id=HA-807301583&number=HS87638D).

In addition to the 4 figures shown at SDCC, it looks like there will be some sort of Orange Clone re-paint included in this wave too...

- Clone Trooper (New Deco - Orange)
- Padme (white battle outfit)
- Clonetrooper (Ep7 - Space Clone)
- Magna Guard Droid
- R3-S6 (Goldie)

On Rebelscum you can find pictures of these five figures now, have a look

I like R3-S6 and the Magnaguard a little bit, but the rest -.- Padme looks a little bit tired ^^

Thanks to Jeff for pointing this out but the new pics of the 212th Clone and Goldie belong over here...   :-X

So to kick off this wave's thread, here we go with some pics.  Yay.

(http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/08CW_212CloneCarded_TN.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/image.pl?http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/08CW_212CloneCarded_Full.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/08CW_GoldieCarded_TN.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/image.pl?http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/08CW_GoldieCarded_Full.jpg)

Click the thumbs to check out the photos!

Obviously I'm curious if "Goldie" is a tribute to Pittsburgh sports teams with the black and gold deco...  Filoni's from Pittsburgh so I dunno if I'm reading too much into it and it's all a coincidence or what, but that'd entice me to buy Goldie if it was a "Pittsburgh" Droid. :P

The 212th Clone looks pretty sharp too.  Thanks to our sources for the photos!

Hmmm... I thought Goldie/R3-S6 was more of a very dark green versus black.
Title: Re: Clone Wars 2009 Wave 1
Post by: Jesse James on October 31, 2008, 11:18 PM
You could be right...  It looks black to me, but I very well could be wrong on the color...  It's kind of like the minty colored droid from ANH that people thought was black/white for years till a better photo of it surfaced...

The Clone Wars: The Visual Guide has a picture of Goldie's digital model in it, and it looks pretty black to me, although there is kind of a "marble" effect to it.  The description mentions that he's built from spare parts (it specifically references R3 units usually having clear domes), so I don't know if the marbling is due to the scavenged nature of his construction, or he's intentionally painted so ornately.

The golden dome, however, does have a tint of green to it.  Sure it's not a tribute to the Packers instead, Jesse?  ;)

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.  I spotted this wave (minus the Airborne trooper) at our local Target this afternoon.  They had one each of Padme, the MagnaGuard, and "Goldie", and a couple of the 212th Clones.  Nothing but Clone Wars on the pegs at our Target (aside from a lone Yarna) - it was this wave mixed in with a few previous figures (Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Destroyer Droid, Cody).

I picked up this wave yesterday and I think the Padme and the MagnaGuard are great figs. The CW MagnaGuard is better than the regular ROTS version I think.

I found Padme, the 212th Clone, and the Space Clone at Target this afternoon, right along with Target's price hike to 7.99 (I thankfully haven't seen the 8.49 that Jayson reported in Minnesota on Yakface).  The 212th Clone actually has a new helmet mold compared to the 5 pack version, so if you're into weird mold changes, there you go.  The Space Clone is easily the best of the three, but mine's hip joints are way too loose, so even though I'm giving up army building thanks to the wonderful economy and Hasbro's rising prices, I'm going to have to grab another one of these.

Padme's weird and feels very fragile due to her size.  Mine has good eyes, but the whole hood/cape/head thing is a little difficult to work correctly.  And, just like every other Padme figure, Hasbro had to use their little clear rubber bands, which has distorted her hand to the point that she can't actually hold said pistol at all anymore.  Yes, I know, hot water fixes that, but for 8 bucks a figure, it shouldn't have to be fixed.

No sign of the MagnaGuard or Goldie, although knowing Target, they'll put them out in the morning.

Darn price went up by the coming of this wave, $7.99  :P

Saw 2 Spacetroopers... inspecting the pack , I wonder if the helmet is removable or not?...I can see a little space as if can be removable but the black neck not let me see well... is or not?... those of u that have them

Thanks

I had an easy time passing on the 212th attack battalion clone.  Especially since I already have 4 clones in those same markings from the Target exclusive battle pack with Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The helmet is removable but there is no head underneath. Removing it does allow for you to take the space gear off so he looks like a standard clone.

Thanks Jayson, I didn't pointed out about the fases, I was curious if they have maded either of both: woolfe I meant Boost or Sinker heads   :-[

But still amazing, will collect them... I just arrived from another Target with much more selections, saw all but Padme.

I saw this wave at the other two Targets in town over the weekend as well, so they all seem to be getting it in.  Actually, there doesn't seem to be any new Legacy or Legends around here, just CW stuff on the pegs right now.  Oh, and the price is up to $7.99 here as well, which really does stink.

I would rather spent $79 in 39 loose figures as I did than that for just 9 carded ones for same amount... just kidding  :D  that wave is nice in special Goldie & Padme.

Dont know what happened, but when I saw her last night, I thought to have babies with her... does that happen to anyone of you when you see a Toy?  ??? kidding

I guess I dont know but I'm in love with the real one... hot Jewish girl as Leia was, both hot Jewish hehe.

I can honestly say that I've never looked at any action figure and thought about having babies with them.  Half-size, poorly articulated kids that need a new diaper every few hours are not my cup of tea.  Your hot action figure would never be the same after kids anyway.   ;)

By the way, the C-3PO figure has bendable knees.  This must be the second C-3PO figure to have bendable knees.
