Check out this fantastic customizing job by Owen Driscoll. Would you bite if Hasbro made this? I definitely would.
:P

Kamino Aiwha? Lil' too big and dull, but it's a nice custom. Same goes for the vanilla Kaminoian.
-
I dont think I would buy it either. A little too boring. BUT the custom is nice.
-
Very nice custom, but I don't think the demand is really there. :-\
-
I'd take one! I'm all for getting any/all of the beasts of the Star Wars world (anything from the SW world really). Hasbro doesn't have too many beast choices available, so maybe they'll put one out. But I kinda doubt it since some of their recent beasts haven't done too well (though some of them haven't hardly even been available in the States).
Excellent custom! If Hasbro did make one, hopefully it would be on par with this nice version created above...
-
If Hasbro did give us one, it would be in a "refresh" assortment number with the big-butted Shakk from Naboo. The Shakks would fill up the shelves before an Airwhale could ever make it out.
If they're going to release more beasts, I'd prefer to see OT stuff (a nice Sarlacc Pit puppet, for example).
-
If somewhere down the line they do this, I suggest they make it a TRU exclusive. TRU always does a fine job stocking their exclusives, plus this would limit production enough so Hasbro wouldn't get burnt. They could scale it down some in size, and even throw in a second Kaminoian to spice it up a little.
Of course, I'd rather see a Sarlacc, Sail Barge, giant Spider Droid and AT-TE first, but perhaps somewhere down the line there will be a place for this in the Star Wars line. Count me in when that day comes.
:P

It's certainly nowhwere near the top of my list. However, I would probably get it if they made it.
-
Maybe collectors would get more excited about it if it had action features. Collectors LOVE action features. The wings could flap and the body would vibrate, missiles could shoot from its mouth, it would have light-up eyes and bellowing sounds, and the legs would have a "predator claw strike" action! Just picture all that action at once!It would be SO KEWL!!!
Of course I'd settle for a fully poseable version with a rider, but I'm just a kid. ::)
-
I think I'd pick one up if Hasbro made it and it was reasonably priced....this person did a very nice job on their custom job too.
-
I like it. It's a very well done custom, and I really like the Kaminoan riding that whale (if that's what you'd call it). I would probably buy one if I saw it, but I doubt I'd order it online. I'd have to see it first before I thought about buying one.
-
I don't think it had enough screen time to warrant a toy (plus, it didn't "fight").
If one came out however, I would probably be compulsed to buy it.
-
It is a nice custom, but I don't think that I would buy one. They would probably end up being shelfwarmers anyway.
-
I'd buy one provided that it's $39.99 or less like the Rancor and Bantha. It's relatively boring, but I'd get one at that price to hang from the ceiling or something. I definitely would not bite if it were, say, an FAO exclusive priced at $89.99
:P

Judging from the negative responses this beast is getting, it's no wonder the Eopie never hit the States.
I'm a little disappointed. I always thought creatures in Star Wars were pretty cool. Ever since the Vintage Dewback first hit the shelves, I've been collecting the critters of Star Wars. I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat.

I'd buy the charred remains of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru before I'd buy that. ;D ;D :P
-
I love it!!!! But I am not sure I would buy it...it depends on the price...but like someone mentioned before, it probably would be something like the Eopie and never see the light of day in the United States!!!
-
You're probably right Jedirhino. I think if it was a TRU exclusive though, everyone would be happy. Those that want one have the opportunity, those that don't can pass on it, Hasbro makes some sales, and at the same time they don't get burnt by overproduction.
:P

Burnt and Hasbro go hand in hand whenever it comes distribution and/or production.
Either it's pathetic distribution or an overabundance of everything. They never learned their lesson after Episode 1.
The reason this wouldn't do well, IMHO, is because..
1) It's from a scene that lasted all of 5 seconds. It wouldn't fit any diorama.
2) They could never scale it right.
3) What would anyone do with it? It's a bland beast.
4) Hasbro hasn't got the best of luck when it comes to AOTC Beasts. The Reek collected dust, as did the Nexu, even after the packaging variation scam they pulled to sell more, and the Acklay was pretty scarce all over, because maybe they knew beasts wouldn't sell?
I understand producing Arena beasts because..they made an arena too. Wampa, Tauntauns, sure. They made a Hoth playset, so that works.
But a Aiwha as a stand alone beast? Not too practical if ya ask me. It's really dull, white/green?
Besides, this would fall in line with the rest of the TRU crappy exclusives, like the Mace 12" with his unlevel eyes. No, that wasn't a paint flaw, his head sculpt was flawed to where his eyes were molded on two different heights. Also, the TRU Landspeeder that dealers have been selling at conventions for $9.99 or less because supply overmet demand.
I guess they faired well with like 12" Leia w/ Carbonite and that 12" w/ Tauntaun.
But, I don't wanna dash anyones dreams. This just probably won't been seen outside of someones custom shop. :P
-
I think we all already agree that this probably won't ever be made, and I'm certainly not holding my breath, but somewhere down the line they might end up making one. You never know for sure what Hasbro might try and pull off, especially if these appear in the Clone Wars cartoon (that would actually be very cool).
As for the Reek, well Hasbro was stupid by not releasing the Acklay at the same time, or at least the fat lard beast that tramples Anakin on Naboo. They overproduced the Reek big time.
:P

when will they ever learn???!!!???!!!???!!!

Come to think if it, down the line that can stick this guy in the same box as the POTJ SNowspeeder. Just a real nice window box w/ a Kamino background.
Thats IF they decide to do so, and it would have to come with a Kaminoian rider.

Not a bad idea there. But you're right, it's a big IF.
