The POTF2 Pike would've been a great accessory for the red guard I think.  The AOTC figure's pike is meh I think, but yeah I just don't get the whole inability to pack in a different weapon.  Weird.

The guards are great figures to me though.  I look forward to the potential re-use of this for a Kir Kanos too...  Nothing wrong with that to me.

Yeah if I see them cheap, why not...  I'm sick of buying the Rebelscum brand ones dammit!   :-X

Tedious, don't feel bad or anything, Jon(Slothus) just busts balls...  But let's play nicely and remember not everyone here is familiar enough to "get it".  Takes time, so be kind to anyone just starting out because it's never easy starting out and getting familiar with how we all interact.

Just a message of peace and happiness...  And Brent's old I guess.

Oh I was just mostly looking for things like

-Random Snakes & the Mummy from the Well of Souls
-The Shoulder Bag, Cloak/Robe, & diary from the MapRoom
-The Torches from the Well of Souls & Salah
-Carts, Fruit, Monkey, and MonkeyMan from the Streets of Cairo Set (basically, I want a Streets of Cairo set)
-Either monkey from either Marion or Streets playset

I'm also curious if someone makes repros of any of this stuff or other ROTLA accessories.  I used to see them advertised but not anymore.  I'm not so much a collector as a guy who wants this stuff to spruce up some Star Wars scenes he has. :)

Just curious if you had any of that, but if not it's ok.  Hope you're able to find the stuff you need Zoso.

Middle Earth / Re: LOTR Trilogy Figures
« on: December 8, 2005, 05:35 AM »
I wish I could find something for my brother for X-Mas...  LOTR is dead here now.  TRU was carrying some stuff and WM, but they're both now seemingly done and the latest stuff's not around, isn't coming, or hasn't shipped to here...

I saw the 3-pack with Sauron and didn't have the $ to get it, then it was gone...  Saw the Elves of ME set too I think it was and didn't get it because of $, and now I can't find it for my bro.  Very frustrating to say the least.

He's still in need of the Orc Captain with the hammer, the Mordor Orc with the skull on his helmet...  I think he still needs the Gondorian Soldier too.  Just lots he never got from this line.

Eh, I was all set to take a look at the Cobra Trooper you posted and low and behold you can't even link to images.  I'll just go check it out elsewhere I guess just because now...

I love the MonkeyWrench I saw recently.  It is a shame it cna't be found outside the US but at the same time, it'd be a bigger shame if it couldn't be found at all...  With what Hasbro's showing for the line they really are improving it.  I like seeing leaps like that for Star Wars too like we saw for a lot of 2005...  I'm saddened to see steps backwards on some figures in 2006.  Looks like Joe is just full steam ahead while Star Wars is in its 1 step forward and 2 back mode already.

Customs Community and Group Projects / Re: Quittin' RS Customs Board
« on: December 8, 2005, 02:19 AM »
I can safely say that telling people to blatantly flat out NOT come to JD on our own site because it's "not in their best interests" isn't going to be tolerated much here either, so let that be just a simple warning.

If you don't appreciate the site here

Ok.  No biggie.
Not that I ever posted here much to begin with (the orange on blue text style really messes with my eyes, giving me a weird 3D effect) but I'm outta here.  Later, OJD

I'm sorry if you took things as me telling you to pack up and leave Owen, I didn't mean for that intent.  If you read my post, I was more than complementary of your work Owen, I think you're a good guy in customizing so that's not an issue.

I was sending just a message that while we (IE: Everyone there) are not allowed to post, even in passing, that "this or that" is at "that site or this site" over at Rebelscum's forums, we are very tolerant about other sites being mentioned...  Really it's not even tolerance, it's simply that Star Wars collecting is not just one website, it's many and we dig all the news around all the sites, and all the customs at all the various sites...

However, telling people "You're better off being there than here" isn't going to fly.  I'm sorry some of you disagree with me saying that, but that's the way it is going to be here because that's simply coming in to a site you don't post at much (Owen), and completely disrespecting the people who DO work here and who DO post here.  I know you maybe feel that way, but I was ASKING you to drop that kind of talk was all...  I don't care if Scum's your home base for customs or not, I appreciated you coming by whatever ammount you felt you wanted to, and I'm sure everyone else does, but if you feel my warning to just respect our site was a note telling you to pack it up and go then is it really I who did the overreacting here?

Maybe I'm misreading things, but from my point of view I gave a warning about something that isn't acceptable on any forum.  Show some respect is the message and remember you can be here and there...  You can talk about here and there openly, but when you imply that you SHOULDN'T be here at JediDefender, and you SHOULD be there, then I'm sorry but that's just not cool by me.  You have to be respectful to this community, that's all.

I don't want any of you to quit either site if any of you don't want to.  Do what you want, and enjoy the hobby and help expand it and make it better, but when you're at a place you have to respect them...  Voicing opinions and criticism on a site is fine, we like hearing what the people think here but you have to also remember that we like keeping our members here, and don't want them being told they should be at such and such site instead...  Both sites though?  Yeah, I think people can and should (at times anyway) broad themselves.  Seems fair and logical to me as far as my stance is concerned.

Edit:

Again, this isn't disrespecting you Owen, or any of you...  It's just a request of respect for us over here, because we do want you here and we want you happy here, but we also don't want you to leave a site you're happier at...  My post isn't asking you to leave though, it's asking you to just remember that we like our members right where they are, and if people are wanting to come over here or make this the only place they want to post customs, telling them that they're "better off at....." is a really disrespectful way to speak of our forums on our forums.  That's all, and if anything I was more hurt to see you felt that way about our site.  We'd have appreciated seeing your post count increase with customs discussion I know, but either way we would want you at whatever site makes you happy, and if that's not ours then we're sad but not going to tell you that you're better off here.  You're better off where you're happiest.  Be cool if you pop in to say hi some though. ;)

The one everyone was talking about up to my post about...  I think Josh linked to it.  It pulled the PWise 2-step out the door I guess.  A classic tactic! :)

December 7th, 7:55 a.m. is (If I'm not talking out my butt here) the exact time of the attack.

A sad day on one hand, a great day on the other because it marked the beginning of the end of World War II.  A Sleeping Giant (Dragon?) indeed.

Making fun of Scum here is about the only place you can do it though and get it off your chest.  With our new people coming in periodically it's inevitable it flames up, plus many people still visit this, that, and the other site too...  It's gonna come up, and a lot of it gives me a good laugh for the day.

BTW I missed that thread and I doubt any of you did a copy did you?  I'd like to have read through the bafoonery.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Darth Vader's death

Huh? This conversation is really difficult to follow.

And since Anton mentions this, I'm going to reinforce a point...

When you're posting things on our forums (and this isn't being directed specifically, just heed these words as I know you'll be able to guess if they apply to you), think about what you're saying and how you're saying it AT ALL TIMES.  Type clearly, make your points clearly, watch spelling and grammar as closely as you can please.  This community's dominated by adults, and as such there's standards to be met or posts look bad and can kill conversations.  We don't want that.

This is just a general post of advice/suggestions from your friendly neighborhood staff member.  Next time I'll send a PM as the not-so-friendly neighborhood staff member. :)

I'd not be opposed to future versions of this figure just having a pike accessory and new silky-ish cloak too.  I'm ok with it though, as it can be MADE to look good.  You can't hide the arms though, and that's detracting from it I think, but for my $ I'm pretty well happy with him now as he stands.

I do wonder though why no pike accessory ever was packed in?  That's what the reds had in the movie, not the overly rubbery rifle, so I don't get that but whatever.  Hasbro can change an entire piece of the sculpt but not change accessories between the two versions?  Riiiight.
