Post by: Commander_Miseria on December 6, 2005, 02:13 PM
Just wanted to show anybody not from RS  ;D

ARC Commander Solus + 223rd Grenadier

BIO: ARC commander Solus is the leader of the 223rd Attack Battalion or "Kad Prudii" (translated loosely as "Sword's shadow" in mando'a). Commander Solus was stationed on Cato Neimodia under the command of Jedi General Plo Koon, after Commander Cody and Jedi generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi secured the purse world. During, the second battle of Cato Neimodia, Commander Solus led ground forces into battle against the droid armies and emerged victorious. After the declaration of Order 66, Solus ordered the execution of Butlar Swan, a Jedi Knight and Padawan of Plo Koon's.

FYI: The [image] tag doesn't work on JD. Use img instead. :)

I really like these guys Miseria. The blue paint has real depth... did you use two colors or is that just a byproduct of the weathering? Either way it looks great. The gear on your commander is great. I would buy multiple castings of that blaster if you made them (hint hint).

I really dig the Heavy Clone sans the shoulder pauldron. It makes him look closer to a grunt. The assymetrical paint ops on him are a really nice touch, too. I need to use that idea... I've seen it a couple of times lately and like it every time :)

The only real suggestion I have is to blend in the pouches on the ARC kama a little better. Either paint them white or paint the regular Clone belt pouches gray to match.

Fine, fine work here. Pat yourself on the back.

These are some great looking customs.  I think the weather is just a BIT much....I know I'm in the minority in that I prefer understated weather at most.

But this is still wonderful work.
Title: Re: ARC commander Solus+223rd grenadier
Post by: Commander_Miseria on December 6, 2005, 02:40 PM
InRem- ya i was thinking about blending those pouches in. It doesn't stand out as much in person, but i definitely didn't want scuplt over it because i wanted the pouches to show. Maybe i will paint them gray though to blend them a little better. As for the painting, i only used one color. I use citadel colour paints, "Midnight Blue" if you're interested in the same color  :). as for the blaster, ya you could cast it, but its real easy to make on your own. Just cut the back reciever off a dc15 rifle, cut the stock off, cut the barrel tip off, and glue the barrel to the reciever. DONE! you got yourself an ARC trooper Dc-17 pistol.   :)

Quazar- Ya i agree i did (accidently) go a little bit overboard on the weathering. His body turned out alright, but his i think his kama's weathering needs to be reduced

thanks for the comments guys!  ;D

Nice work man, they look as if Hell paid them a visit.  great idea on the kama, I'll be posting some of my clones soon, I used a similar tech on my kama as well.

I'm glad to see you posting here again, we've missed you.   ;)

ROTS ARC Trooper - Very well done my friend!  I must say this really looks like a great design even for the film perhaps.  The dark blue paint scheme really makes it look realistic I think, and makes the color blue seem menacing.

BACARA Helmet Trooper - Another great addition to your Clone ranks I think.  Perhaps a bit too much scratching of his paint on the helmet, but that's ok - he looks like he's earned those dents and scrapes in his armor.  Well done and I think better than the Bacara repaint they threw in the Target 5-pack.

Title: Stass Allie's Speeder Bike
Post by: Commander_Miseria on December 7, 2005, 04:16 PM
Hey last night I finished up a spur of the moment custom. i I watched and paused over the scene from Order 66 and used screen shots from online so i'm pretty sure it's accurate. Unfortunately, i dont own any saga speeder bikes because i think it would be a much better base then the POTF2 model.

I angled in and corrected the speeder bike steering handles to be a bit more accurate. If i can get a hold of some sort of wire, maybe i'll re create the cables on this thing.

The Neyo symbol could have turned out better, i dont have a decal set so i couldnt make one large enough, so i ended up having to paint one and it proved a bit more difficult to make a circle with painters tape then one would expect   :(

excuse the clone trooper as i haven't yet decided the cost for a pull apart barc speeder was justified  :p

LMK what ya think?

Title: ARC trooper custom
Post by: Commander_Miseria on December 7, 2005, 07:42 PM
My arc trooper:

I opted for the commander #33 skirt as it covers a little more of the legs than the Evo skirt. I trimmed it in blue and dry brushed white over the blue markings and black over the skirt and armor. Made it a little heavier around the legs to cover up the "yellow" look although mine was a little more brown-ish than chewie's.

got the pictures right now : P

That speeder bike is very boss. It is a little overboard on weathering but I know its hard not to get carried away doing it.  I also like the clones. For the first blue ARC you should definitely color the bags on his legs. They blend a little too much and should add another level if detail. The second blue arc I think is a better paint job. It's good to see the AOTC clones with removable helmets.

Welcome to the group! :D

501st legion Trooper

hey guys, this is my first attempt at this design, definitely not my last. i think my only real problem area was the chest design, but it turned out good enough. Some of the blue came off his helmet when i was tinkering with it so you'll have to excuse the yellow around the visor.

Parts: Ep2 evolutions body
       Ep3 Evolutions bly trooper helmet
Ep3 evolutions (at-te gunner style) head
       Evolutions Dc-15s

Nice work, Miseria.

ARC Trooper:

I may have commented on this guy elsewhere, but for the record, very true to the way I envision ARCs in my mind. The blasters are awesome (and I will make some of my own per your recipe). The blue paint is a little soft-edged (meaning it has bleeding or uneven lines) in a couple of places (chin, kama), but those are only noticable on very close inspection. Quite frankly, Hasbro has a serious problem with that on most of it's painted Clones, so don't worry too much about it. :)

The 501st trooper is a nice piece of work, too. Your color choice is good, and your scheme seems to me to be very faithful to the movie. You can see a touch of the yellow on the helmet, but you already knew that. Your weathering is convincing. I like the black flecks all over...it looks like he was dodging saber deflections and hitting the floor repeatedly in the process.

I also want to say that I appreciate how you've presented this guy. We get to see him in some context, which is cool. It's the second time I've seen you use "Be one with the Force, Jedi", and I love it! :)

Good job!

Title: 501st legion speeder bike
Post by: Commander_Miseria on December 11, 2005, 06:23 AM
hey guys. This is a speeder bike I painted up in a 501st paint scheme. I also painted a At-Te gunner in the 501st paint scheme(as he is the only clone with hips to ride the speeder bike he was my only choice, despite the flaws of it shares with the tac ops trooper )as well as corrected the steering handles as i did on the Stass Allie speeder bike. I added an antenna on this one for long range transmissions and have given the clone a scout trooper pistol. Hopefully i'll find something to make a holster for the pistol. I'm considering making a holster for a DC-15s rifle as well and putting it on the bike itself.

The antenna is visible in this shot. i used the #41 antenna for that piece. I painted the rear panels and near the seat in a similiar fashion to that of stass allie's bike and added sections of blue towards the front of the bike on the under body's paneling.

I also painted stripes down the center (to go with the ones found on the 501st trooper's legs). I was considering doing the "a" symbol found on their chests, but i wanted something a little simpler as i thought it might be too much blue. Especially with the painted trooper that rides it.

Weathering was done in the same way as i did the stass allie bike accept i toned it down a bit on the bike's body.

I also added thick stripes to the front piece. Very similar to the stass allie's red paint job on the front accept i wanted to keep a bit more white showing.

The 501st scout reports droid troop movements to his superior.

LMK what ya think?

Murder Weapon, this is outstanding work. One thing I'm always afraid to try is customizing vehicles. But you did a superb job. Love it, it's original, fits in well with established designs and is executed perfectly.  The lines are very straight too.  Would think this would be a no brainer for Hasbro to make...

Title: Re: Commander_Miseria's Customs - UPDATE 12-11-05
Post by: Commander_Miseria on December 13, 2005, 06:46 AM
BIO: The Shadow troopers were elite amongst the clone ranks. While not genetically altered like their ARC trooper Brethren, the shadow troopers were subject to rigorous and special training. Off planet, on Bothawui, they were trained in Espionage, Sabotage, and other Stealth operations tactics, by the leaders of the Bothan Spynet. Also, on camp, Kal Skirata, former mandalorian mercenary and Republic Commando instructor, taught them demolitions, pathfinding, night operations tactics, and escape and evasion. During the final days of the clone wars, the shadow troopers saw their last confirmed action on Utapau. There they reported General Grievous' droid army there, Cleared minor Landing platforms for the rest of 212th attack battalions landings, and marked drop zones for the 2nd Airborne "Parjai" troops. It was rumored that some had gone on almost 3 years after the Battle of Yavin and became members of the Black Hole Stormtroopers.

This is the Communications specialist that reported General grievous' army on Utapau.
He carries a navigation pad to keep track of Drop zone positions and other troops of his squad in case of seperation after the drop.

With little assurance that any relief is coming, the shadow troopers carry enough equipment to sustain them for 13 days. This includes ammunition, food, and night operations equipment for movement during dark hours. This trooper as a comms specialist also carries an extended battery for his comms pack and long range transmission antenna. On the bottom of his pack a Pathfinder DZ marking device can be seen. The trooper also carries a demolition charge on his left leg.

This trooper carries a DC-15s with slight modifications. A starlight scope has been added and the muzzle break has been modified to reduce the noise of the tibanna gas discharge. Also on the trooper, is a Dc-17 compact pistol with extra ammo on the drop down holster, as well as his shoulder.

Parts Used: SA Clone #41,Evolutions Clone holster (painted grey, from yellow set), POTF2 biggs darklighter rifle (stock), Jango Fett Final Battle jetpack, Dc-15 rifle scope from #6, Dc-15s from #41, Antenna from #41, Backpack piece from POTF2 sandtrooper pack, Sheet styrene, Warhammer 40k bit, cloth material painted black, and ammo bandolier from Clone Commander #33

PHEW that was fun  :p

Wow, this is a sweet concept! My radio clone and your Shadow trooper can play phone tag now. :p You have a very strong concept - and even worked this guy into RotS Canon! I like that his would be words that sent Obi Wan on his last mission for the Old Republic.

Pros: That pack is clearly Star Wars parts, yet I don't even recognize the parts individually. It's a whole new piece. Nice work there!

The modified DC-15 has me *jealous*. I think I might have to start bashing together weapons for all my new customs; the new weapon really looks like it came that way.

The additions to the armor are very believable. The inclusion of a charge on the left hip is consistent with the kind of work we'd expect this guy to do, and the extra packs on his shoulder give him a little more capacity for toting ammo and such without getting in the way. The palmtop device works well, although I wish that thing folded up :). Finally, the holster is blended very nicely into the right hip... very natural look with the position you've given it, too.

I'm not sure if I like or dislike the mesh over the shoulders. I like the idea very much, but I think something needs to be done to clean up the edges. It appears that the cut skips a course of weaving there... try following a single cross-hatch to get a cleaner, straighter appearance.

The only suggestion for you I have is to work on straightening up those lines. On first blush it all looks so great, but on close inspection some of those lines could stand to be revisited. I'm not saying I could or would do better - I probably couldn't - it is but a suggestion. :)

Very fine work here, and thank you for sharing it with us!!!

Anway, I didnt' really like the way the ST looked until I saw yours. Awesome concept, and I really like that you scratchbuilt on a 41 clone. That was an extensive bio, did you come up with most of it yourself? I really like the backstory to it. I agree with InRem, maybe straighten up the lines and the cloth a bit. Either way it looks awesome. I might have to make a fanfic trooper in the Shadow Troopers legion now. Great job.

Thanks for the comments guys! (more than i got at scum with 86 views and 2 comments  ::) )

InRem- Ya i could definitely straighten some of the lines, although in person for some reason they dont appear as crooked as well as brush marks dont appear as vividly as they do in pictures.
The backpack is Jango Fett final battle jet pack with the exaust ports cut of and squares cut into it. Then i glued it sideways.
I should clean up the mesh a bit as on part got glued in place behind the backpack  :( and is making that part uneven.

Darth_Nirvana-Thanks DN i tried to make him look a little bit more like a soldier. Kind of inspired by a show i was watching about the 101st airborne during WWII and i realized not a lot of the clones actually carry equipment for various jobs. They're more like a one track clone meant for one thing. So if this guy was elite i figured why can't he do it all. As for the bio i wrote the whole thing myself working in different star wars characters to make them seem a little more than just a dumb target exclusive. I also sent my story of them to wikipedia's star wars section I dont know if they'll keep it though.

JediJayBird-That is an Awesome Trooper you got there! Weathering is very nice, radio turned out believable as well as great use of soft goods. I actually almost used that rifle for my Radiop man actually  :P

Thanks chewie  :), the face material is actually pressed together with a dot of glue on the back of his head(under thered helmet). First i cut the mesh material the appropriate length and rounded it and then added a dot of super glue to the back of the helmet to keep the two together. The face mask can actually be removed withou taking off the top red part of the helmet.

Glassman-Thanks I did try and lighten up on the weathering this time around some of my figures are a bit overdone  :-[. While, it would be better to have a different material for the face mask(for texture purposes) i didn't have anything else smoother, but found this mesh stuff to be very easy to manipulate.

thanks for the comments guys!

Post by: Commander_Miseria on December 28, 2005, 10:09 PM
hey guys! Here's a few Customs I just finished off to bolster my 501st ranks.

501st Support Gunner
(http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/TheMurderWeapon/IMG_0636.jpg)

I used some of concept appo's paint scheme with some added pin stripes that run across the leg(as opposed to down the length). added some steyrene for the straps, added ammo pouches from a bacara kama. finished it off with a old G.I. JOE rifle from my bits box.

501st SA/w removable helmets (EVO clone to the far right)

removed the neck post from the At-te gunner and added it to the #41 body. For the first two on the left. why the middle one's legs are so clean i have no idea  Last one on the right is an older Evo clone custom. Ep2 evo body with ep 3 commander helmet.

And just for fun a shot of the nighttime raid on the jedi temple. You can see the "leftovers" to the back left of anakin  :p

LMK what ya think?

In response to Gergorbian on the marines: I'm actually not sure what material it was. I didnt have capes for a few vintage snowtroopers so i made those kamas for them out of that material, but then cut them up for the masks on these marines. some people thought it looked like material from a sock, but thats not it  :(

thanks for the comments guys.

Clone Commander Gr: Ya it comes out great huh? : ) i can't wait to start appo as soon as I get another At-Te gunner.

Starkid500: It's not so much a custom anakin as it is evolutions anakin with the robe from the CW jedi knights Multipack : ) i guess you can call it a kitbash, but i just thought it looked cool.

Booya!  Great update buddy.  I always enjoy seeing your work.  The clone craze seems to finally be dying down some, but by all means it's great to see some well done 501sts.  Love those #41 bodies you used.  And excellent painting and the Anakin kitbash is great.

Your Clones look great!  Nice work and I really like that you went the extra mile and put the AT-TE Tank Gunner head on the #41 body.  Did you do the hip-swap also?  Nothing beats a SSA Clone!  ;)
The paint apps are crisp and the weathering is really well done - not too much but it still fits in with hasbro's weathered figures (of course yours look much better).

I like the paint apps on that heavy gunner, the helmet design really works.  Great update!

Hey guys. back again with some Custom Galactic Marines :p

The marine on the right is V2.0 of my Galactic marines with the orignial on the left of Bacara. I swapped out the bacara head and threw it on an SA body as well as the Kama and Pauldron. Here's a few more shots...

THIS ONE HERE IS VERY SPECIAL! my girlfriend decided she wanted to paint a clone after she saw a few of mine and i had an extra bacara body left over so i figured what the heck  :p She's a natural for sure cause I did NO painting on this ABSOLUTELY ZERO i didnt even dry brush it! (just told her how  :p) I didn't even tell her which parts to paint! it is completely original from her!

That's a great clone that your girlfriend painted - congrats!  She is definitely a natural  :)
Now give her a #41 SA Clone and she what she can do!

A nice set of clones there. I like the weathering and paint apps on the galatic marines. The only thing I don't like about them is the fabric used. The fabric in that scale looks too course and holie. A finer fabric would have seemed more in scale to me. I think it needs to be trimmed a little. Over all very well done figures.

As for the 501st SA/w removable helmets, I think the Evo clone came out the best. The letter A on his chest seems to be the most accurate. I like how the A splits at the end. It's funny how when making the same figure three times we get completely different looking figures.

These are basically just clone commander #33 repaints I did. Nothing from these troops come from the actual Hasbro Bly figure. I was particularly proud of the weathering and pauldron color so i thought i'd post them as I will also be posting other Order 66 edition figures (a few will be rehases of customs i've already done along with a jedi from the ROTS line) until i've completed every scene of order 66 from the ROTS film. The Jedi won't really be in the spotlight as they'll be just ROTS hasbro figures unless i do some retooling (after that i'll be packaging them in a ROTS multipack scheme each with special backgrounds). now without further delay...

ya i tried to use a more grey weathering than black on this to just give a general "dirty" look and not so much a "battle damaged" look. You have to remember clones go from planet to planet frequently, so rest and time to clean off armor may not always be available or necessary   :) As for the robe on the anakin from page 1 it came from a SAGA obi wan pilot. I believe you can get the same robe with VOTC obi wan as well.

Thanks for the comments  Clone Hunter and Chewie  ;D
Title: CM's Bith Jedi Knight-Nuyiss Ma'b
Post by: Commander_Miseria on January 6, 2006, 02:56 AM
BIO: Nuyiss Ma'b was a Jedi Knight during the clone wars. He led a clone unit to victory on Saluecami clearing away remaining droid units. During a quiet moment after a firefight he  indecisively( ;)) halted his unit at an assumed deserted enemy base, while two droid units they were in pursuit of split up. The halt in his units progress gave time for enemy scouts to report the jedi's location and fire a heavy barrage on the outpost. Many lives were lost, but Nuyiss Ma'b survived the attack and was later transferred to the temple where he was assumed killed by Darth vader during the 501st legion's raid.

Title: Re: CM's Bith Jedi Knight- Nuyiss Ma'b
Post by: CHEWIE on January 6, 2006, 04:45 PM
I like it, but at the same time there are a few things I would change.  Bear in mind this is just how I'd do it, as I do like this figure.

I might try a different set if arms, as those to me are just very POTF2-ish.  I would try using more parts from existing newer Jedi figures.  Really that's the only thing I might change, and maybe add just a bit of a wash or dry brush to bring out more details,

Fun to see a Bith Jedi though, and this is nice work.

 :P

Post by: Gregorbian on January 7, 2006, 12:53 AM
Cool Jedi and interesting backstory.   :)
What is that base figure?  The arms look strange (not bad-strange, but strange as in I've never seen them before).  The figure looks nice and clean, great paint apps.  I agree with CHEWIE that some drybrushing would make the figure look even better, however as he is now he would fit in perfectly with the hasbro Jedis (I tend to like clean paint apps).

Nice job on the Bly Squad also.  The weathering looks good, especially on the shoulder pauldrons.

The base figure was a combination of mace windu ep1 (waist down) and cantina band member (waist up)  8) I  would dry brush him, but i wanted to go for a more "out of the package" hasbro figure look.   :)

I like this one a lot too, as I commented at Scum first where you originally posted it.  The weathering is great.  The painting is great, and so are the parts used.  I didn't notice it before, but the straps in the pic w/ the helmet off, they seem to just "stop" at the top of the shoulders.  Are my eyes playing tricks on me?  Either way, still an outstanding version of Gree.

I've gotten some in trades and some i just purchased. Most of them are AT-TE gunner heads on SA bodies. Actually while this one is progress, i've got a few more headsculpts being used as i'm putting togther a 212th legion. All of them will be SA removable helmet with evo weapons like the 501st legion. There will be a fair amount of cody's grunts as well as a few parjai airborne troopers and of course Cody himself  8)

Nice work there Miseria!
I cant wait to see your 212th Battalion.
I am currently working on a 501st Legion that will have them all featuring removable helmets.
Infact I think I'll go make some head casts soon enough.
I've got some cool ideas, like a clone pistol with a scope.
How did you get your gree's straps like that?
Mine are so far made out of old LoTR straps from belts and shields.
Anyways, nice work and I cant wait to see the finished BARC Trooper.

As for gree's straps, did you mean the chest or leg? Chest was made using the sling off the POTF2 sandtrooper rifle and the Leg  strap is off the back of an AT-TE gunner pauldron.

Still though, this is great.  His arms may look a tad long, but other than that I think it's looking awesome.  Great mix of parts, and good luck with this one.  I can't wait to see the final result.

Title: Re: CM's BARC trooper WIP (update 02/07)
Post by: Commander_Miseria on February 7, 2006, 08:04 PM
Well In all the pictures i've seen they're supposed to be pants material, not armor, so i tried to cut the showy mold lines that made it look like armor, i think if i round them out a bit more before i paint them they will be able to pass for pants  :P I also have a few details left to do like the Pouches (which i cut off the original barc trooper and will probably just glue in place :P) and the 2 areas on the inner thigh where the material is a different color.

here is a pic for reference of what i mean...

I havent gotten a leg strap because I wasnt sure how it would look and I tried to get a holdster on his leg too.

From the new pics of the VOTC Biker Scout Hasbro will be able to sub parts here and there and use most of the ROTJ Biker Scout parts to make a ROTS Scout.

A straight repaint would fall far short of what we should expect.

Great work on this custom, BTW. I've been following as much as I can, and can't wait to see how it turns out.

Post by: Commander_Miseria on February 8, 2006, 01:40 AM
Well i decided to take a break from my Barc trooper and finish off one of my WIP 212th troopers. He is modeled after the trooper that charged the crab droid and dispatched him from topside.I know his paint is a little off, but frankly i like my paint scheme better than the original which can't decide whether it wants to be triangular or round :p he has the extra back pack equipment, he is SA, and has a removable helmet.

Man your Barc trooper looks great very well done and I love the fact that you are trying to keep the articulation on him well done.

The 212th trooper looks very well done everyone knows that I love clones and this is no exception the backpack looks spoton and the paint work is really well done.

I can't wait to see how that BARC Trooper turns out; you are off to a great start so far!

That 212th Trooper looks good too.  Your attention to detail is impressive, I had no idea that the "backpack" was different on that guy.  Very nice stuff!

Keep us updated on that BARC Trooper!
Title: CW ARC troopers (02/16)
Post by: Commander_Miseria on February 17, 2006, 02:46 AM
Well i've had some progress with my ARCS. They're kind of my own design, based on the parts i had when i made my first ARC. The squad as a whole is gunna be sort of a mix of how they appeared in the different volumes of the CW mini series.

I will have Captain Fordo, some blue arcs with arc rifles, some blue arcs with dc-15s, an ARC mini gunner, an ARC Heavy Gunner (rocket launcher), a ARC quad gunner (At-rt head), and a few regular white clone troopers (one of which will include the Field Scanner they used to see through buildings in volume 1).  By the time the whole squad is finished they'll be put into the brand new Clone Wars Gunship.  Here's what i got so far (some have some paint apps to be done, and some adjustments to be made, but you get the idea :p).

I'd throw them into the group project, but well ya know  ::) :P ;D

I like your 212th attack battalion trooper alot, nice detail and articulation.
Are all of your 212th going to have removable helmets?
The ARC's are just plain cool.
I love what you've dont with the evo sets too.

Great ARC Trooper squad here!
They all look perfect (much better than the upcoming hasbro battle-pack), I love the fact that you are giving all of them removable helmets - are you customizing each face to give them all a unique personality?
Is that bazooka made from a marker of some kind?  It looks very good.

hey guys thanks for the comments  8)

Clone Commander- Yep all of my 212th will have removable helmets as well as my parjai that accompany them. Then I'll be touching up (or rebuilding ???) the commander cody figure when hasbro releases it. My Arcs will all have removable helmets as well. 8)

Gregorbian-  I have actually customized the head of one a bit, not the face. For Captain Fordo, I gave him some grey streaks on the side of his hair as well as a little it of grey hair in the front. Being the leader, I figured he could do with some experience. :P As for the rocket launcher. It's actually a cast of a Gundam Model piece, with some added steyrene and a Potf2 stormie rifle grip. ;D

However, I have the evo set!

Maybe you could call one ARC Alpha?   :)

You know, I think I like this color scheme.  I would suggest a little battle-damaged weathering but I like it.  Also you may want to paint "inside" the leg joints a little.  Depending on the angle of your camera, the white comes through some.

Looking forward to seeing this one finished!

I think he looks very cool CM, Some weathering, like dirt and scrathes may make it look better, but you idea about the styreene is definatley a good one.
Straps and such will add that extra level of detail.

Very cool set of black stormtroopers and a wicked Carnor Jax. These were fun customs to make when I made them. I don't know if you seen it but the hasbro version of the black stormtrooper has a picture of a prototype on the back. The prototype is wearing a blue body glove. I think that would be a great detail to add to this figure.

Do you have any pictures of Carnor Jax without his cape? I would love to see how detailed you got with the armor. Are you going to make Kir Kanos?

Title: Re: Carnor Jax and Blackhole Stormies (UPDATE 03/07)
Post by: Commander_Miseria on March 19, 2006, 05:33 PM
many many coats of "chaos black" got those stormies to stay that way.  ;D

As for Carnor Jax i may get some more pics later. I did not get too detailed as far as his armor design, i really just made the paint applications, removed the knee pads, and  thats about it. As for the blue body glove thing, I also thought this was a good idea, but i dont yet have the blue for it. I already tried with mine and the blues that i have are too light or too dark.  :(

Those Blackhole stormies came out great.  Its very hard to cover up all that white without having to cake on the black paint.  Very smooth applications!  I love the 501st commander, very clean lines and well placed weathering.

Post by: Commander_Miseria on March 30, 2006, 10:50 AM
My new Photonovel will be entitled  CLONE WARS: ZERO HOUR The photonovel will follow a clone grunt from the beginning of the battle of geonosis, through the action he later sees as part of Squad Seven, and his experiences as a Clone Commander .

The first character that will make an appearance is the protagonist...

BIO: THETA-2208 (Solus), at the beginning of the clone wars, served as CC-2224's (Commander Cody) second in command during the battle of Geonosis. Later after Major Jorrir assembled Squad Seven, CC-2224 called on THETA to help him lead Squad Seven where the two fought side by side on many occasions, and along side Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker a few times as well.

 Nuyiss Ma'b
(http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/TheMurderWeapon/Clone%20Wars%20Photonovel/IMG_0821.jpg)
Nuyiss Ma'b will fight along side Squad Seven on a few occasions on some Outer Rim worlds.

Orinei-Per-teris is a Cerean senator that though rumored to be Seperatist informant has been considered very important to Chancellor Palpatine's movement for a more  secure Republic.

 SQUAD SEVEN
(http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/TheMurderWeapon/Clone%20Wars%20Photonovel/IMG_0825.jpg)
Some of the members of Squad Seven as they will appear. The squad see much action during the photonovel, including their appearance in Labyrinth of Evil

Post by: CHEWIE on March 30, 2006, 10:59 AM
Very nice update!

Nuyiss Ma'b - I find this to be one of your better customs, something really cool about Bith Jedi.  The color scheme is interesting but I think it's fitting for this guy.  I might suggest a very, very light dry brushing on his green outfit with a bit of tan paint.

Orinei-Per-teris - Neat custom, I like the body used but for some reason almost every time a Ki Adi Mundi head is used, it just seems like an EPI Ki Adi Mundi head.  The only one I've seen that really seemed different was In Rem's version with the beard removed.  Nothing wrong with your custom, I'd just suggest trying to alter the head a bit more.  Also I'm confused as to how this guy could be rumored to be Seperatist informant (wouldn't he be arrested?) has been considered very important to Chancellor Palpatine's movement for a more  secure Republic.

SQUAD SEVEN - Came out great.  Did you use any Utapau clones here or all complete repaints?  Looks like Utapau clones w/ AT-TE Gunner helmets?  I've kind of quit using those helmets due to them just not being sculpted the same as the other clone helmets, but they do look good in your pic.

 :P
Title: Re: CLONE WARS: ZERO HOUR (UPDATE 03/30)
Post by: Commander_Miseria on March 30, 2006, 11:31 AM
Thanks for the comments chewie.   8)

Nuyiss Ma'b:Would i be dry brushing the entire thing tan or just parts of his outfit??

Orinei-Per-teris: Ya i was hoping the tattoo-ish thing would set him apart a bit. I was thinking of perhaps trimming the beard down to be just kind of a goatee instead of a full on wizard beard :P As for his backstory, i was meaning to say that amongst the senators he is said to be a seperatist informant, but since Teris is a strong suporter of the Chancellor,  Palpatine manages to go out of his way to speak against  any of those accusations.

Squad Seven: Thanks. No i used SA clones and at-te gunners head sculpts/helmets and Evolutions Weapons. The sculpt is a bit different than the #41 clone, but i think that it makes them look a little bit more "stormie-ish" by having bigger helmets.

thanks guys  8)

Clone Commander- Thanks a lot. Ya i intend on having this feature almost all custom figures, as opposed to using main characters. Yeah Solus definitely looks a bit too "stock" in his AOTC armor, but he will only be featured that way for a chapter or so, because i'd really like to get into the Outer Rim Part of the Clone Wars, so that i can show them fighting alongside different units (41st Elite, 501st legion, Parjai Squad) as well as with some more known characters (I.E. obi wan kenobi, anakin skywalker, Ki-adi-mundi, plo koon. Scorch will even be featured in the 1st chapter  8) )

DN- Glad you enjoy my updates man. How old are you?  I am most definitely gunna get to "filming" photo novel just as soon as i work on making some back drops. I've already got a few vehicles of my own creation to be featured during the Clone Wars, but i still got a while to go until i get chapter 1 up.
Title: Re: CLONE WARS: ZERO HOUR (UPDATE 03/30)
Post by: CHEWIE on March 30, 2006, 05:23 PM
Well, I for one never liked the AT-TE Gunner helmet.  I just seemed less defined, and that happens sometimes with removable helmets.  The AT-TE Gunner helmet sculpt isn't bad, it just isn't as good as the others to me.  I'm one of those few I guess that doesn't like the removable helmets on Clones too.  But it's still a cool feature.

On Orinei-Per-teris, it's still a fantastic custom and the tatoo does look great.  I think that maybe one way to make it look even more different would be to maybe repaint his entire head, then do a wash on it.  Then fine details.

 :P

did you have to take apart the speeder to paint it? 'cos it looks pretty difficult to paint it in one peice. :-\

Thanks for  the comments guys  8) to answer the question about the BARC speeder, it actually wasn't that difficult to paint in one piece so i didn't take it apart. Was a bit tedious at times, but I wouldn't say it's too much of a pain and i would say the results make it well worth it  8)

It's good to see an update from you, and that you are still around.  Both Commandos are nice, but I prefer the green one.  That is very well painted.

See we told you not to sell your Arcs, and that you'd regret it, but did you listen noooo. At least we got you back in the game though. The new squad member looks good, may I suggest a bit of silver parts like scorch.

501st-Cool concept, but shows a little too much individuiality for an imperial troop, I would think less blue somewhere.
Jedi-Good work, the parts mesh very well together.  Cool paint too.
Security-Very good, I'm really diggin' these guys.  Recipe?

The blue Stormtrooper looks just a tad cartoony to me but I like the concept.

The Jedi is the best of this latest update, or at least my favorite.  Great paint scheme and design.

The UGP CC Security Forces look very nice and are a good concept.  Nice to see someone take the lead and get some concepts started.  Very well done.

Thanks for the comments guys  8) ya i wasn't too fond of how the 501st troop came out either (especially since the white color sucks  :'( ). Glad you guys like the others. I'll try and get some better pics up in a few  8) and a recipe for the security.

Not the most complicated custom ever, but i like the results and it was actually pretty hard to make. That damn cody neck post wouldn't stay put and then i had to dremel the helmet like crazy. Neck is a tad too long, but it gives him some height that doesnt look too extreme so i think i'm gunna leave it.

Sweet Boba, I did the same with a VOTC Stormy and a Cody head, they're great arent they?
Nice and small so you can just dremmel the helms out!
Very cool, I hope some day to show my customs.
