REALLY like the Tubo Laser Gunner.

Nice choice of parts.

I commented on the Female Troopers at RS, but once again it's just really simple stuff that makes it look so good. Again, what legs did you use for the rebel females?

Two really good pieces lately. Go Fritz, go!

And here I thought your first Obi-Wan in Clone Armor was cool! ;D

I've noticed these bases that you've used over an over with your figures. I saw a post where you said they're from "a 2 dollar store."

Are these plates/dishes of some sort?

What store do you mean?

I started seeing your work over at the Custom Alliance but it's just wonderful to see it here too.

This stuff is just amazing.  8)

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Your First custom...
« on: March 1, 2007, 01:10 AM »
My first custom was actually a repaint of a ROTS commander into a wanna-be Commander Bly. This is around the time the first ROTS figures came out.

I didn't like it (looked more like Commander Banana  :o).

I repainted it and made a camoflaged commander. I was also still getting used to using my new digital camera at the time. :-\

I've done several transactions with Commander Smelly here for some sales and trades.

He's always been prompt with payments and/or sending of figures.

No worries at all here.  :D

Amazing as always.

Really like the Mech pilot. Are those DS gunner legs I see?

The trooper with the Airborne helmet looks great. Those washes really give them that "grubby" look.

Just curious, what do you do with all your customs? Storage? Displayed? If displayed, where (shelves, cases, etc.)?

Just completed a trade with Tony here for some stands, Joes and a SW fig, and miscellaneous SW accessories. Everything was in good shape and as promised.

Despite the massive amounts of snow and cold weather in his area, he came thorough with flying colors!  ;D

Thanks!

Today we have a simple weathering job on two 442nd Siege Batallion troops. Nothing complicated, and it's a simple repaint, but it's still a custom.

Thank you! Even though some people work on clones and do repaints, there are many naysayers out there who don't consider a "repaint" a custom. I applaud your effort (as it is my own as well)  ;)

This looks good. Much more realistic than the official ones. As always, the photos add to the realism.

Is the set just something you threw together, or is it part of an existing dio?

Greetings all,

This weekend, February 11th, the STAR WARS EXHIBIT opened at the California Science Center. It runs Feb. 11--April 29, 2007.

The exhibit is not huge in itself, but it does have a variety of great props, costumes, models, full size characters/droids/creatures, and at the very end, a large toy/clothing/etc. area.

The exhibit is free of charge, but large crowds are expected, so get there early if you live in the L.A. area. BUT..........if you purchase some IMAX tickets and see a movie (about $8 each) you can have PRIORITY entrance--the wife and I bought some tickets and we were led into line and only waited about 10 minutes!

It takes about 40-60 minutes to see the whole thing (meaning you take your time, take pictures, and push your eyes back in their sockets)  :o.

After the exhibit you are maneuvered to the toy/etc. area. This in itself is very cool. You can find all sorts of toys, keychains, postcards, kubrics, bust-ups, etc., etc.  But the main interest if the figures and battlepacks:

Pretty  much every battlepack that's out now (Mace, Death Star Conference, Republic Commando pack....) although they are kind of pricey---about $35-50 for some. The figure pegs are full of the current wave: Vader's droid, Clone Seargent, Kashyyyk battle droids, super battle droids, Elite Corps Clones, Fleet Security..........but at the price ($10 a pop  :-\) I could see why there was plenty of everything.

They won't run out of figures as I saw several "Wave 6" boxes on some shelves.

BTW, you don't have to go through the exhibit to get to the toys...you can just go though the exit area of the section.

All in all, the exhibit is a great thing to see.

For those of you not in the California/Los Angeles area..........ENJOY THE PICTURES!!!!!!!!! Plus, you'll see The Noodle and Mrs. Noodle  ;D

***I have several more pictures. If you're interested, just PM and I'll send them your way!

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: D_N's Customs- New Update 2/4
« on: February 5, 2007, 01:21 AM »
Well, I picked up the new Betrayal on Felucia pack last night. Very impressive set, but they were...clean. They're on a fungal jungle! So, I mixed up a cup of wash fluid and got to work.

Superb work as always. The figures don't look like "figures" any more.  ;D

After looking at your customs, I've seen you mention these "washes" before, would you mind elaborating on what these are? I've also read about them elsewhere, but nothing really to provide much detail.

Keep them coming. Jeez, where do you find the time for all this???? :o
