Apparently an upcoming "Boba Fett" novel cover has a picture of a rumored Episode III villain (General Grievous for those following the spoilers). Who knows if this will be what he looks like in the movie, or if this is way off base...but I thought I'd post it either way. Interesting to see if nothing else.

Also, here's the quote that accompanies the book: "On his first big assignment for Jabba the Hutt, Boba must confront a new galactic villain -- a sinister force who will play a significant role in the upcoming film Star Wars: Episode III!"

Cool!

he does look pretty sweet!!!

Looks like the Amazon pic went AWOL, looks like it is the real deal!

Man, there's a bunch of people bashing this over at 'scum. Reminds me why I don't really like that place anymore. I can't stand the people that openly hate the Prequels, but then spend their day in the prequel sention blasting everything. There's nothing worse than someone who gets pretentious about SW...its almost an oxymoron.
I think the General looks cool. I'm one of those people who's been pretty excited about this character. I mean, we should be seeing the antithesis of General Kenobi, and that's what this character will be. The cool thing is that Obi-Wan has had an antithesis in each of the prequel movies. This is probably why he's the most iteresting character (IMO) in the prequels. In TPM he had Maul, in AOTC he had Jango, and in Episode3, he'll have Grevious. Sounds good to me!

i agree, i wonder how they did the general in the movie? Is there are person playing him or is he like Jar Jar?
-
Think Jar Jar with Cybernetics ;)
-
Think Jar Jar with 4 arms, several lightsabers, and metal.
Lots of metal.

And he'll finally graduate to the big guy in EP4. I totally agree with all you points. Kenobi's character has been the most interesting. As far as Grievous goes, I think alot of people will come around once the character shows up on the big screen. I think he will surprise all of us as far as how he looks and his actions.

from theforece.net: Grievous confirmed:
EP3: General Grievous Officially Confirmed
Fri, Feb 13, 04 03:41:47 PM EST
In an official Lucasarts press release for the upcoming game "Republic Commnado", we finally got confirmation of a character that has been long discussed among spoiler junkies:
Marin County, Calif. - February 13, 2004 - Enter the covert world of the Star Wars infantry for the first time and become a member of an elite Republic Special Operations unit in LucasArts new squad based first-person shooter, Star Wars Republic Commando. Set during the Clone Wars, between Attack of the Clones and the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III, Star Wars Republic Commando will be released fall 2004 for the PC and Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.
Mission briefings set the tone in this dark first-person shooter, as players lead their squads on a variety of assignments such as hostage rescue, infiltration/data retrieval, elimination, assault, sabotage and reconnaissance operations. Your three-man team is controlled through an intuitive and accessible "smart squad" command system, based on squad markers and stances. The game features more than fifteen levels, with exercises covering both familiar and new Star Wars settings and characters, including the introduction of the mysterious General Grievous and his deadly bodyguards from the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III.

*craps pants*
I guess as long as he isn't made to step in poo, he'll be alright. Four arms? That figure will rock harder than anything has rocked before.
Screw 2004 Toy Fair, 2005 Toy Fair is where it's at. :)

Well, it looks like Grievous is now confirmed, even via the Official Site today. You can check it out at: StarWars.com (http://www.starwars.com/episode-iii/bts/publicity/news20040220.html)(no Hyperspace membership required!) Also, here is a picture of the Clone Wars Animated take on this character:

why does he not look like that in the Cartoon "Grievous", they look nothing alike!
-
You're right they look nothing alike. After reading about this character and that his arms split into 4 arms each with a lightsaber, I began to wonder if they got the idea from the NJO. Luke, Mara and Tahiri fought an ancient Sith on Coruscant shortly after the Vong took it over. His name was Lord Nyax, and he had lightsabers coming out of evcerywhere. Could he have had some influence on the prequels?
-
Why does Cartoon Grevious have non...splitting apart arms?
Kevin
-
this is all a little to confusing to me.
-
I don't get how they're not alike,look at them,same face,cape and arms!
-
They don't look the same really, a cape doesn't make them look similar. I don't get why he doesn't have 4 arms in the toon one.
-
According to the spy reports, his forearms split into two.And if he dosen't have them in the CW cartoon, then maybe he'll have an upgrade,he is a cyborg after all.
