Target DPCI # has surfaced for one of the upcoming Battle Packs...
087-06-0863 - Skirmish At The Senate Battlepack - $19.99
The Skirmish At The Senate sounds like it could be kind of cool, but hard to say what may come packed in there. If it's Yoda, Palpy, and 3 Shocktroopers then count me in for a set. :) Don't need 2 of those, but I'd like 3 shocktroopers.
Anyway, there ya go guys... Keep it handy. I always keep a list of these in my wallet incase I'm out.
-
I don't think anything is official as to the contents but the DCPI on this Target exclusive is out. I predict it will be like the JTA pack w/ 1 Yoda, 1 Emp and 3 Shocktroopers.
-
Gotcha Covered Already (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=10446.msg185485#msg185485) :P
Also will want to take a look at the www.JediDefender.com front page where the DPCI # is already up and running in our news.
-
What are the chances that we can get a new Palpatine out of the deal?
#12 Palpatine just doesn't cut it
-
A little housecleaning to merge up the threads on this new Battle Pack. ;)
I hope this set gives us some more Shocktroopers, but I'd like them to be the #41 sculpt or even the Target RotS Sculpt so they are a bit more poseable than the #6 we already have.
Guess we will have to wait and see what we end up with...

Agreed. However, this is the exclusives department. :P
-
They'll probably give us a Jar-Jar, Padme, Palpatine and Chancellor Zod from Episode 1.
-
Yoda, Palpatine, Mas Amedas, Clone Trooper 6 x2.
Kevin

I wouldn't mind a repack on this one. As long as it's the Evo Palpatine ;D.
Curious to see what's going to be in this pack. More Shocktroopers would be nice. Especially if they're an SA version.
-
If it's not the Emperor in the outfit he wore during the duel, I don't want it, regardless of how many shocktroopers it has. And since I doubt Hasbro will dump a new figure like that in a box of repacks, I don't have much hope at all.

Right on man! The Bust-Up Emperor has that outfit on and it looks cool!!!
-
POTF2 Palpy, ROTS Yoda, ROTS Mas Amedda, 2 Shocktroopers on the Deluxe Jet trooper body. ::)
Seriously, I hope there are at least 3 Shocks, and they are on either the ROTS #41 body or the CW/EE body with an ROTS head that they have been using for the Target clones.
-
My (hopeful) prediction:
-Mas Amedda
-SA Shocktroopers x3
-NEW SA "Senate Dual" Palpatine
What Hasbro Will Do:
-Vintage Emperor Palpatine
-Shocktrooper using 1995 Stormtrooper body with ROTS head
-Neimodian Warrior
-Mas Amedda x2
-
My Guess…
#3 ROTS Yoda
#40 ROTS Mas Amedda
03/30 Saga Emperor
2x #6 Clones with "Shocker" Deco
-
This thing NEEDS 3 #6 Shocktroopers. I can live with a rereleased Yoda and Palpy, I'll just trash them or customize them or something. But it NEEDS 3 shocktroopers, no more, no less. If we lose one for a Mas Amedda, I'm going to FREAK!
Sorry for the mini rant, but I never saw a Shocktrooper here, and I want some. :)
-
I have 9 Shocks and could have had nearly 30 if I bought every shocktrooper that I've seen at retail, so I'm not going to make a huge deal out of this pack.
That being said I still think that it needs at least 3 shocks. There is just no excuse not to put 3 in there.
-
I have one lonely shock trooper and he needs some friends.
-
I have only ever seen 4 shocks: 2 at Wal*Fart which I bought, and 2 at Sears which I didn't due to price.
-
There's a pic up at SW.com. Comes with Palptine, Yoda, 2 Shocktroopers and a senate pod that looks kinda tiny. An OK set, but no big deal.
-
(http://www.starwars.com/collecting/news/hasbro/img/20051219_senate_bg.jpg)
I love it! Two Shocktroopers is a good thing, plus I've been wanting a Senate pod since May of 1999. I'll take it anyway I can - I want three of this set. Looks like I'll have an army of Yodas and Palpatines for customs.
:P
-
This looks great. I'll take several too. :o
What the heck happended to the cantina wave post, I was just posting on it?
-
Awesome find Justin!
Count me in for a couple. I NEED some Senate Pods :)
-
What the heck happended to the cantina wave post, I was just posting on it?
I merged it into the existing Cantina Wave thread...
I'll gladly buy this set. I can handle sacrificing the 3rd Shocktrooper for the Senate Pod. :)
-
Speedermike found it first actually - so he's the Indiana Jones tonight.
Jeff, I agree - I'll sacrifice a Shocktrooper too for that pod. :)
:P
-
Upon further inspection that almost looks like the #41 body too...
The belt looks bigger that a #6 belt and it almost looks like the tipe of an antennae above the helmets, that would make this set even better. :)
-
Thats what I'm seeing too. Definatley antena.
And look at the sholder pad of the closest one... ;D ;D ;D ;D
Kevin
-
I think it's the #41 sculpt too... good eye Ryan. That might mean I have to get more than three sets. ;)
:P
-
Take a looky at this blow-up...
DEFINITELY looks like #41 to me too guys!
-
I think it's the #41 sculpt too... good eye Ryan. That might mean I have to get more than three sets. ;)
:P
We have to have a COMPLETE senate... ;)
Kevin
-
Finally, SA Clone Shocktroopers! That's great. I'll happily deal with the uselss Yoda and Palpatine to get a senate pod and those clones.
Hopefully these will be as abundant as the Attack on Coruscant set was.
-
That's what I'm talking about! I'll take a crappy Yoda and Palpy for two SA Shocktroopers and a Senate Pod. What a great earkly Christmas present! :)
-
Senate Pod! Senate Pod! Senate Pod! ;D
I've wanted one of those forever!
Thank God they left out Mas Amedda
-
I can see finding lots of sets with the #6 clones returned. :(
-
This Battle Pack looks pretty nice to me too. The Yoda and Palpatine are basically throw-aways for most I guess, but the SA Shocktroopers and Senate Pod make it a nice set overall. I hope to pick it up for those two reasons alone. I'm glad we didn't end up with Mas Amedda or something like that in this, and overall its not too bad of a set.
-
I can see finding lots of sets with the #6 clones returned. :(
Me too :-\. Just out of curiosity, how are you guys determining the Shocks to be the SA version? I can't make out the difference between the two molds with that photo they provided. It would be nice if they were but I'm not keeping my hopes up about that one.
-

A few pages back, I blew up the photo...
Take a looky at this blow-up...
In the blow-up pic, you can see what looks like the "nubs" of the antenna above the Shocktroopers heads. Also, on the #6 the belt is sculpted on, but on the #41 sculpt, the belt is a separate piece - you can see in the picture that these clones have the larger separate piece belt indicating they may be #41.
Granted, things can change (insert Hasbro disclaimer here) but for now, the signs all point to #41 Clones...
-
Now that I look at the picture again, I've decided that this is too good to be true, and therefore the final product will, in fact, include two AT-TE Gunner molds with the helmets glued down.
-

LOL. :D
If they look like that picture, mark me down as wanting a couple. Oh yeah, here's me begging. Again.
Why yes, Canada does suck, but so does Florida.

That's some serious detective work right there! Thanks. Still not going to get my hopes up but a #41 Shock would be nice. Until I see the final product I'll have to assume Jared's quote above is correct ;).
-
I'll be buying this. Just for the Shock Troops and the SEnate Pod though.
-
Yeah, this is great. I won't be able to find any of these sets at retail of course. But it's not to see they finally repainted this with the SA body.
-
Sweet! Finally we get a Senate pod, miniature though it may be.
I don't mind having a cloak-less Yoda.
Too bad they couldn't make an accurate Emperor, but I guess I should count myself lucky I hadn't gotten around to buying that plain version yet.
Shockies are always nice to have.

The cloak is packed in there too, you can see it hanging on the pod

Hmmm ... I bet this is the same Yoda that's coming in the Geonosis wave....

Senate Pod! Senate Pod! Senate Pod! ;D
I've wanted one of those forever!

I can't believe Hasbro didn't put all those extra peg warmers of Mas to good use and include him... Oh well, good for us!!
If we get #41 Shockies, I might be game for it. Might have to have make a Imperial Rehabilitation Center Landing Pad diorama then.
As for Palpy... ugh... perhaps we could make customs of drunk cantina patrons out of it.
-
I'm looking forward to the set just for the shocktroopers really since those were ones we didn't get in any abundance. A local fellow is going to maybe be buying multiple sets for the pods alone really so he's talking about selling shocks to help eat up some of the cost of the sets he wants. I'm all for that if they're #41's. Gladly build an army of those up.
-
This really sucks, because I said I wasn't going to have anything to do with this if it didn't include a new Senate Duel Palpy. But it does have the Senate Pod, which I've wanted like everyone since '99... and two Shocktroopers... ugh...
-

I'm not listening, LA, LA, LA, LA........

Come on Spuffy - once you see it, it will be well worth shelling out 20 bucks for a set. Maybe a few sets. ;)
:P
-
Yeah... :)
I'll definitely get one, since I'm going to make my own Emperor custom with a Bust Up (provided I can find one -- anyone want to help?).
-
Ah, I was able to purchase a couple from Red5sixx on ebay - I can see if he has any more. I'm not too fond of the ROTS version of him... but it's not bad. You might want to fill in the "hole" under hit right hand (the action feature) with sculpy.
Here's the one that I made with the Bust Up hood and head, but want to try another version. If you want to open a thread in the customizing section, I'd love to start chatting customs with you. ;)
:P
-
That looks really cool. Hopefully I can get a Bust Up and do some operating on my own version. :)

I'm sorry, but I really don't think these are SA Shocks. I think what you think are nubs are just highlights from the background. Also if you look at the Shock on the left, look at his waist, there is no noticeable separation or shadow were the SA waist articulation would be. Take a look at any SA trooper loose or MOC, you can definitely tell it's SA because of the waist articulation separation from the torso. The waist of the Shocks pictured don't look articulated at all. They actually look fused like the #6 Clone Trooper.
-
If it's the #6 shocktrooper then this set should prove to be a little easier to find... ::)
-
I dunno, #6 Shocks weren't easy to find on basic cards around here... However I've blown the photo up and the nubs definitely aren't a packaging distortion, however I can't say what they are... They look like the antenna's to me but even if it is the #41 it doesn't mean that's what we'll wind up getting either so it's neither here nor there at this point.
I don't think it's always easy to tell an articulation point either by photographs. For my money, I can see a vague line/difference at the torso but nothing significant to conclusively prove to me it's either sculpt. The SA Clone's torso joint is fairly "tight" on the figure though and I don't notice the separation of the pieces on any figure really unless the picture is just at the right angle.
-
I'm going to have to dissagree Kill_Solo. I can definately see the antenea and the shoulder joints are a dead give away that these are not the #6 clone. The fact that the paint on the left shoulder plate doesn't cover the plate all the way shows that it is not the swappable plate.
-
YES the Shocks will be the SA mold!!! ;D
-
or at least we can hope... Keep in mind the Tact. Ops debacle.
-
or at least we can hope... Keep in mind the Tact. Ops debacle.
Always, but I tend to give Hasbro the benifit of the doubt that that was just a one time error. Then again, we were shown a different carded Sandtrooper sample. :-\
-
We were also shown a wrong sample on the Gray Clone Evo set... Hasbro showed the AOTC Clone with an AT-TE Gunner body, so who knows what we'll end up getting.
-
I'll vote that they are the deluxe clones painted as shock troopers (same as the ones we got in the attack on corusant). Not saying the picture shows that but I wouldn't bet against Hasbro doing that.
-
Here we go!
:P
-
First I have to say I was wrong about those shocks.
Second I have to say SUH-WEEEET!
I cannot wait for these to hit the shelves!
-
Sweet, #41 Shocks! That's worth getting a crappy Yoda and another crappy Palpatine.
-
I'm more excited about the Senate Pod than anything, and the Palpatine is great custom fodder anyways. ;)
:P
-
The Pod kind of reminds me of Kenner's old Mini-Rigs. Cool, but just sort of small enough to look a bit goofy.
Nice looking set,
-
This set looks awesome. A new senate pod, #41 Shocktroopers, and I don't have a Yoda or Palpy so thats good.
-
Thanks for the picture hook up Chewie!
-
No problem, and it does kind of remind me of the old mini rigs. I love that!
:P
-
Chewie- I only got a pic with a red x :-\
-
For sale =
Yoda (loose) x3
Emperor (loose) x3
;)
-
So the question is - are two SA shock troopers and one Senate pod worth $20-25?
:P
-
So the question is - are two SA shock troopers and one Senate pod worth $20-25?
:P
I can see it's worth at about $15-20.
$5 for Shock #1 and $10 for Shock #2 with Pod (kinda like a deluxe figure) of maybe even $15 for the Shock #2 and Pod if it is "small vehicle" size.
I'll buy this set for sure now that we have more confirmation they are #41 Shocktroopers. :)
-
I haven't really picked up any of the Battle Packs so far, but I think the fact that we're getting #41 style shocktroopers, as well as a senate pod, is enough to sell me. I, like everyone else, could probably do without the Yoda/Palpy, but I'm sure I can find something to do with them. They can always go in the nephew "toy box" we keep. I hope it isn't too pricey, $15 would be great (but highly unlikely I'm sure), $20 wouldn't be so bad I guess either.
-
Uh, when are these due out? I have to plan a trip Stateside please.
-
Uh, when are these due out? I have to plan a trip Stateside please.
"Spring 2006"
I don't think we have a better idea yet. They are not in the current Target SW aisle set-up though, so they may not resurface until the next toy reset. Or, at the rate things are going this year they could be here soon... :-\
-
Yay ::) Thanks Jeff. I'm down in Illinois in the last week in March, but that might not be the right timing.
-
(http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/4-06/front_skirmishshockbfront.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/newspro/fullnews.cgi?newsid1143946526,25762,)
Appearing soon on a Target shelf near you will be the exclusive Skirmish in the Senate Battle Pack. Click on the thumbnail above for a sneak preview, including a closer look at the star of the set - the super-articulated Shocktrooper (which is, in fact, a repaint of the RotS #41 sculpt).
-
Hot digitty. I'm all over that.
Now if we can get a carded 501st appology figure with the SA sculpt I'll be happy... for a moment.
-
Oh boy, that set looks delicious! Can't wait to pick that up.
-
Im gonna have extra Yodas, Emperors and Senate Pods from this set it looks like. ;D
-
Beautiful.
*sheds tear*
-
Great googly moogly, I gotta get some of those.
-
I want two. Knowing my local Target and how hot Clones are, I'll be lucky to even see one.
-
Okay, maybe I'm a bit confused here but it looks as if Palpy is using his force lightning on Yoda's cloak. Suppose it can't work too well if Yoda isn't in it? Maybe he's using some sort of force dry cleaning or something?
-
Yeah I gotta find people wanting Senate Pods and NOW. :) The figures though, are "eh"... I never got that Palpy figure I'd get him cheaper later, so I'll take it... Yoda, I can BS that into customizing fodder I think, as it is generic... The pod I could give 2 ***** about honestly so I'm all about selling those to people who want htem.
The Clones though... Oh Glorious Clones.
Those are some fantastic early shots. Can't wait to pick this set up hopefully in some extra quantity if I can afford it. Nice to have confirmation of which Clone they used too.
That's a nifty figure, and ya get two. Not too bad a deal there for certain.
I think most will look past the Palpy/Yoda easily and while I don't care for it, I'm sure most will enjoy the Senate Pods. Hell who wouldn't dig displaying most of their Senator figures in that thing? The Clones are almost icing on the cake then. Nice set.
-
I'll get one of these solely for the Senate pod. (I'd love to have tons of pods, but I doubt I'll have the shelf space or the money, etc. etc.).
I don't have OR need these versions of Yoda and Palps, so getting them isn't a dealbreaker either way.
But I don't need the shockies. Yes, you read that right. I have the #6 shockie repaint; add in the upcoming mini-Unleashed shockies and I'll have satisfied my needs. I'm trying to cut back, and you gotta start somewhere.
So I'll end up either buying the pod off someone, or getting the set and finding somebody to unload the shockies on, thus recouping $8 or so to apply towards other figures I want more. (JJ, you may be hearing from me later, if nothing flies locally.)
-
already sent you a PM Nate!
I hope these things are as plentiful as hickies on prom night. I managed to get 5 of the Target attack on Coruscant set last year, and still love that piece! Easy customizing fodder, loads of troops, and a very decent price. It is sets like these that make me give the 13.00 Grievous the one finger salute (until he's on clearance of course).
-
Yeah, no kidding. A pack that will actually sell for once.
-
Thanks for the excellent photo's photography department! That's be about $100 if I want to get 10 SA 41's. :(
-
I am definatley getting 2 sets!
-
I'll take extra senate pods from anyone who doesn't want them. :)
It appears from those pictures that we actually get the Chancellor/Emperor's little tower as well. I'm definitely down for several of these sets, I don't need too many though, since I do have 9 of the #6 shocks.
-
The tower looks like cardboard to me... :-\
-
Target's in Canada, right? :'(
-

Must you dig the knife deeper by reminding us? >:( ;)
-
The tower looks like cardboard to me... :-\
Yeah I'm really not sure about it, when I first saw it it looked like cardboard through the front window, but the picture on the back of the box almost looks real.
-
I think it's just the Senate pod again. The tower thingie looks quite a bit different.

I'm glad to see that Hasbro has used the word "awesome" to describe their product on the back of the box. Now I'm sold.

Yeah Jesse, and at least Target didn't just take that Red clone and package it individually in a nifty exclusive collector's case with a bullseye on it and a $12.99 sticker. At least we're only paying $10 a pop for the shockies, but we get 2 pieces of **** in Yoda and Palps and a Senate pod while we're being raped. Guess that's better than nothing.
-
If anyone doesn't want their Senate Pods, I'll pay $5 each for them.
:P
-
I'm glad to see that Hasbro has used the word "awesome" to describe their product on the back of the box. Now I'm sold.
Guess Duthro got a new job. . . ;D
-
I want this set, the pods make it all worth it.
-
Target's in Canada, right? :'(
Must you dig the knife deeper by reminding us? >:( ;)
You know I gotcha covered (or Jill does) .
-
Well I wouldn't consider 2 Shocktroopers (SA), a Senate Pod, a Yoda, and a Palpatine a "rape" for $20 (if that turns out to be its cost... I don't trust Target). For what it is, it's worth it at the assumed price.
It's not an army builder set but I didn't expect one anyway... I figure if I can get the 2 Shocktroopers, sell the pod(s), and keep the Yoda and Palpatine for some kind of fodder (fodder is fodder, though someone may want them so I can trade/sell them off too perhaps) then it balances out for me... I'll obviously not be stocking up on this set by any means, but if I can get 2 shocktroopers for a reasonable price and sell the pods off making up some of the price... I'm pretty happy with that.
-
Anyone heard any more on release date besides Spring? Do we think these will hit in April?
-
trying the DCPI's so far are not coming up in the system...(yet)

Considering they were selling the Clone Battlepack for 20 while selling the regular Brick and morter Battlepacks for 25 I would suspect the same thing.
-

Actually, here in Utah I can pull up on the store scanners that the info on this. No isle is assigned though and not in the stockroom.
-
Well, they're out now here in CA. I grabbed a couple of sets using the DPCI number this morning. They did ring up at $19.99.
I have to say, as happy as I am to have an SA version of the shocktrooper, there a few things about this particular incarnation of the figure that disappoint me.
First, the white plastic is slightly dull. After putting it next to the lovely Utapua clone, with its shiny white armour, the matte look of this figure seems, well, wrong.
Also, the red paint portions aren't very precisely applied. The lines on the bicep area of the arm are pretty sloppy. When you hold this SA version next to the #6 repaint, you can see that the definition of the paint apps isn't as clear and crisp or accurately painted as they could have.
Overall, he feels a little cheap. I still think it's better having an SA version of the figure than putting up with the #6 version's action feature and sculpt compromises made to accommodate the feature, however. It's just not as nice as it could have been.
Senate pod rocks, though. :)
-
God, so much stuff at once... :-\ Nice to know they're not $25, though.
-
I guess I'm in the minority here, but I'm wanting this for the Yoda.
Just kidding. It's the Senate Pods that really interest me the most.
:P
-
I just want the Shockies myself.
-
I checked my local Target this moring. Not in stock, but at least the $20 tag came up.
-
I just want the Shockies myself.
I'll buy a pod off you, if you don't want it. Then I only have to hunt one these damned things.
-
seems like everybody just wants the shockies & the pod
-
so true. I do not carea bit for the Yoda or the Emperor but I crave the shocktroopers and the senate pod.
-
Yep, there will be many extra Yodas and Palpatines now in people's collections.
Not that they would ever have done this, but I would of rather had seen this as the set -
- Emperor (red outfit w/ hood)
- Padme (senate sculpt)
- Shocktrooper x 2
- Senate Pod
:)
-
I'm hoping these will start to show up on the East Coast this week.
I'm looking to get three of these. Two to open and one to keep MIB.
Gotta have at least two Senate pods. Perhaps if these go on clearance, I'll get more just for the shocktroopers and pods, but somehow, I doubt they'll get that far. Even the "Assault on Coruscant" battle packs from the summer didn't stick around long enough to hit clearance in my area.
-
seems like everybody just wants the shockies & the pod
Well, yeah. ;)
-

i just want the shockies
-
I'll be picking up 3 of these myself. I'm hoping these will hit in the numbers that the Coruscant packs hit. I would be nice to not have to fight so hard to get them.
-
Yep, there will be many extra Yodas and Palpatines now in people's collections.
Not that they would ever have done this, but I would of rather had seen this as the set -
- Emperor (red outfit w/ hood)
- Padme (senate sculpt)
- Shocktrooper x 2
- Senate Pod
:)
While I agree that I would have liked that better too, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense really to have Padme in there considering she was somewhere else in the galaxy being force choked. I'm not sure I want to see Hasbro branch even further into illogic at this point, they have it covered off pretty well as it is.
I think I can be happy with one set of these, though I'd be up for extra pods as well. Nice way to display Mas Amedda and friends from the prequels. I'm also fortunate that I'd skipped Yoda every time out with the ROTS stuff, so at least it's not a duplicate.
-
Picked these up today at Target..Brent sent you a PM ::) ;)
-
OOOOOOOOOOh, I need like 5 sets. Good news if anybody wants spare senate pods.....
-
For anyone willing to trade figures for pods, what's a fair trade 1 pod for 1 figure or 1 pod for 2 figures?
I have an extra pod for trade. I'm interested in the shocks.

You want the shock troopers from this set for your pod, or any want item? I might take the pod, but I won't have any Senate troopers for trade; I want them.
-
Gonna go out on a limb here but I'm quite certain Anton ONLY wants the senate troopers(shock troopers). ;)

I was referring to the "Declaration of an Empire" speech when Padme was present and Palpatine is wearing his red hood/robes. She witnessed his speech and was not getting choked yet. Remember this scene -

The Shocktroopers might not make perfect sense here but seeing that most people want them... that is what I meant.

Right O! Until I get to my troop building limit of 10.

I might be up for trading 1 or 2 of my Shocks for your Pods...let me know what a fair trade would be for you.

A nice little nod from Hasbro

I wouldn't fit on the little screen ;)

Thats what I'm trying to figure out. What does everyone else think?
In a way, we both save ourselves the trouble (and money) of having to buy an extra set for the addition piece(s.)

That's ******* awesome.

Man, you got that right!
-
Another pathetic Canuck begging here...if anyone could pick up an extra Skirmish set for me I would greatly appreciate it, as there are no Targets here in Canada....I have lots of trade feedback here, I am good for it.
Thanks in advance.
-
If I ever find these I'll be stoked.
Great pics in the image database BTW.
-
This is a fun looking set... but I still wish they had renamed it a bit and called it something like "Declaration of an Empire" or something of the sort, and made a red robed Palpatine here and thrown in a Senate Padme... and then throw in the Shocktroopers with the Pod as most people want those anyway it seems.
I kind of got inspired by the whole thought of the Palpatine... so I know this isn't the customs section, but here's a custom I worked on tonight to better illustrate that Palpatine. They have the parts to make a red one similar to that, although my version isn't movie accurate. :-\
(http://chewie34.250free.com/041306Emperor.jpg)
:)
-
Sweet, Chewie. I had hoped this set would provide us with a Senate Duel Palpy, but alas, I think I'm just going to put my Sidious Bust Up in there. I'll put something under him so he appears half way normal.
-
Hi Spuffy, thanks and that Bust Up really is cool looking isn't it? I wish Hasbro had made a figure based more like that. If you want to discuss a pretty simple custom you could do using the Bust Up you already have, just let me know by PM or in the customizing secion.
:)
-
The Shocktroopers might not make perfect sense here but seeing that most people want them... that is what I meant.
:)
Yeah, I figured that's what you were thinking of. I just don't expect Hasbro to go to any extra expense is all (new Padme sculpt) and the lack of logic. Too much of a stretch for them. Getting a senate pod for Mas Amedda and friends and then a senate seat with Padme and friends would be neat.
-
Well; you'll have at least one of those soon(in the mail) ;)
-
Got my first senate today. ;D

I'd love it if the really did release ET on a SW card. 8)
-
(http://myo.homestead.com/files/Toys/senatepod_tpm.jpg)
I call for a vote....
-
I love it. ;D Does the battle pack include 2 cardboard pods or did you open 2 of the.
-
Man that's cool... the Senate Pod rocks... I can't wait to get a few of these... but I wish the pod was larger. Oh well, I'm not complaining. :)
Just out of curiousity, what does the bottom of the pod look like? I'm wondering if I can make some sort of platforms for them...
:)
-
I love it. ;D Does the battle pack include 2 cardboard pods or did you open 2 of the.
They're 2 paper bands (http://www.jedidefender.com/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Collectibles/Modern/The_Saga_Collection/Exclusives/Skirmish_in_the_Senate_Battle_Pack&image=skirm_boxf.jpg&img=&tt=) that wrap around the stupid plastic trays that they impossibly bind the figs into. I wish I had 2. I'm hunting another set.
CHEWIE, I'll try to take a pic of them bottom of it. My machine's been going nuts when I hook my camera to it...
-
Wow, I didn't expect a pic (especially so quickly) - thank you Ook for the pic.
Nice, nice! I think this is one of the best pack-ins I've seen Hasbro do in a long time... yeah it takes the place of a figure, but we get figures all the time and rarely any sort of piece like this.
Thanks again for the great pics, I can't wait to hopefully find a few of these sets. :)
:)
-
Love the ET in the pics, Ook! That actually looks really cool aside from the force lightning graphics.
-
Man, I had 3 of those E.Ts and I traded off all but 1. I could've had a whole delagation pod.
-
Yeah, the in-package appeal is good on this. Don't have one yet, but it's worth adding methinks.
:)
-
Ilove these things; I'm hooked. I think I'll get 2 more. I wouldn't mind a whole display wall with pods and senators from various planets. A larger retool for the chancellor and his aids would be bitchin', too. 8)
-
I'd like to see more too, and have wanted to since first seeing EPI for the midnight showing back in 1999. I guess it took an action scene in the Senate to finally get something like this made at all...
:)
-
The pod and the Shocks rock this Battlepack, really nice. But why Hasbro! Why! Why do you condem me to buy repack after repack of figures I've already bought! Do I need and army of Yodas (well that might be cool) and Palpatines?!
-
I know, I don't need more that Yoda either... but at least the Palpatine is good custom fodder. ;)
:)
-
Yoda can be a Jawa with some Epoxy putty. Chewie's right, Palps is fodder. The pod is fine. The clones are great. Brilliant!
-

Well, I never bought a Palpatine figure until I bought this battle pack and getting rid of extra Yoda figures isn't a problem when you have three sons. ;)
-

Got 2 more today. Man, I would love to have a senate rotunda display with species from all over the galaxy represented! :D It's just too bad they barely fit 2 of most figures. With the Wookiees' big ol' feet, you can forget squeezing in Yarua and say a Wookiee guard. Can't even get Mas Amedda in with Palpatine. They're pretty neat, though. And I love the #41 shock troopers. ;D
-
I got 2 yesterday. The SA Shocktroopers are fantastic, though it seems like the paint bands on the arms are sloppy.
Definitely going to be ditching the senate pods , Yodas, and Palpatines.
-
I got this set today, and I love it. The best part has to be the Senate pods. They can kind of double as Clone patrol craft, since they have two seats and room for two guys standing. The Yoda and Palpatine are meh. But it does give me an extra set so I can re-enact the Senate dule and have my Basic versions of them in neutral poses on my shelf. The shock troopers are just fantastic.
-
I picked one up today, and I am pretty impressed. Considering single figures are costing us $7.00 each, 4 for 20.00 (2 of which are great clones) plus a senate pod is a great value. That's not something we get to say a lot this year (cough SWSHOP $15.00 basic figs cough).
-
So, I took the prongs off one of those small doll stands (http://www.checkerberries.com/assets/images/mini_doll_stands.JPG) and propped a pod on it with Saga Chancellor Palpatine in it, floating above the other senate characters on my shelf. Now I'm tryng to decide what I could use to attach a couple to the rails (http://www.homedepot.com/cmc_upload/HDUS/EN_US/asset/images/eplus/071691230274_4.jpg) my shelves are attached to.
Any ideas?
-
I was able to get a few sets of these... wow! Very nice job Hasbro. Although I don't like the Palpatine/Yoda repacks this is a good value for $20.00 I think.
:)
-
Well, the inevitable happened last night. I walked into the toy section of Target and spotted two Skirmish sets in a go-back cart, picked one up, and what do ya know -- both SA Clones had been swapped for the #6 repaint version. The same went for the other set.
Lame. But totally expected.
-
Jesus, that #6 repaint wasn't that bad.
What kind of lame ****head buys two Battle Packs and returns them with damn near the same figure?!
Good catch though - I don't think I would've caught that until I got home and opened them. Then I would've been pissed.
-
I like the #6 repaint. Granted Ive yet to see the #41 repaint.
-
I don't like the #6 sculpt. perioed. I like the #41 sculpt and only the #41 sculpt. The only reason I tolerate the tac ops figure is because it has a sweet paint scheme.
-
I don't mind the #6 myself... It kneels better, so for me the figure is somewhat a trade-off. I like having some in the army for that purpose, not to mention they had rifles and #41's didn't...
With the battlepack troops and repaint #6's it's less an issue to me with the rifles though since most Shocks I noticed had carbines not rifles. Still, some #6's for kneeling poses aren't a bad thing to me.
-
I only have 3 #6 Shocks, I could have gotten like 8 in one shot, but I too really dislike the #6 Clone Trooper mold. I was praying for the day they would make the Shocks with a #41 sculpt and I got my wish, but the fact you have to buy 2 repacks to get them blows. Now I pray for the day they single card them. Oh and while I'm at it I wish they would make the Tac Ops with the #41 sculpt. Do it Hasbro, Do it!
-
I wish they would make the Tac Ops with the #41 sculpt. Do it Hasbro, Do it!
Yeah, that's another update that's sorely needed. I'd like those and Commander Appo.
-
Ohhh, a Tac Ops SA clone would rock to no end!
-

I dunno. I like #6 except the fact that they can't accept pegs in thier feet.
The Jedi Temple Tact ops are nise because they are clean, and the regular ones are nice becuse you can get better action poses.
-
I was under the impression that the greatest hits version coming later this summer was a #41 based Tactical ops trooper- is that incorrect?
-
The pics I saw was of a regular white #41.
-
I was under the impression that the greatest hits version coming later this summer was a #41 based Tactical ops trooper- is that incorrect?
Well, it wouldn't be a greatest hit if it was never released in the first place. But if they throw that at us, I'll be on the hunt!
-
I saw three of these at a local target in NC today, pretty cool looking in person. just with I had extra $$$ to spend.
-
Would be nice if Hasbro released the #41 in Shocktrooper deco and the Temple Raid deco. I cant even imagine how many would sell.
-
Are these sets supposed to have the "4/30" street date as well? I was thinking about heading out to the Targets in town early on Sunday to look for the VTSC, but have since found them at WM (and cheaper). I was still thinking about going out on Sunday if these were supposed to "street" then as well.
-
My local Targets put them out this morning. They said a few days back that they had a street date but did not tell my wife what it was.
-
These were sitting on the shelves today since my Target did their reset. I now have extra pods. Where's everyone who wanted to trade Shocks? :P
-
Yes, I have one extra Senate pod left. Who is trading for them?
-
My Target is effectively useless. Not only are they sticking to their "unless it's a TF or a Titanium, we ain't stockin' ****" philosophy, they didn't even do their 04/30 reset and there is no shelf or peg space set aside for either the Battle Pack or the Grievous figure. They did get 4 more cases of the basic lightsabers though, since apparently six pegs full of them necessitates restocking while two basic figures on 8 pegs is considered a huge inventory. ::)

That's exactly like one of my Targets. I checked earlier today, and they had NO space for VTSC, SITS BP, or the Grievous figure.
-
Bought three of these suckers. 1 for me, 2 for fellow collectors in Mississippi. ;D
-
The local Target hasn't bothered to do their reset yet. I should have learned my lesson from last year when they had a reset when they offered their first exclusive Clone- they didn't do it until Wednesday.
-
Two Targets here in town - one did the reset (our closest one), and the other didn't (across town). Neither one had the Senate pack unfortunately. The one across town says they have it in their stockroom, but they won't bring it out. I'm hoping our local one decides to put it out this week, or sometime soon.
-

Morons.

Thinking about the Senate Pods, who all is going to try and make a senate scene? Niub Niub did one years ago with his own materials, and now seems like the time to be able to try and make a display similar to this -
(http://www.niubniubsuniverse.com/contest1/prizes/prizegrand.jpg)
:)
-
I should know, but cannot remember: where did the ET figures come from?
-
I should know, but cannot remember: where did the ET figures come from?
The one in Niub Niub's pic looks like the vintage action figure. The ones I posted are PVCs that I got from an eBay seller in Hong Kong around 2002 (E.T.'s 20th anniversary year).

Man, that is a thing of beauty. I wish Hasbro would make that.
-
Yeah, if Hasbro were to make that I'd be one happy camper.
On the ET figure, I think those might be the ones that came out in 2002 packed in with Kraft Macaroni and Cheese... I have one that I never opened for whatever reason.
:)
-
So sadly common this set is now... :P
Unwanted? ???
My Target stores each havethe same 8-10 that have been sitting on the shelf since the 4/30 'reset'. I know there not restocked also because I frequent the stores that often.
-
I think they will end up selling a lot of these when it is all said and done... heck though, even the Coruscant Clone 5-pk at TRU with the Bacara repaint ended up on clearance at some stores.
:)
-
I will get more but not for $20. Once they start coming down I'll get some. I got my coruscant sets at 13.98 and 9.98 (later that week).
-
I'm wondering if we'll see these resurfacing because my area's pretty picked over on the Skirmish sets. See one here or there but not more than 2 at any given store. Seems they got pulled from the back before the reset at most places.
-
finally scored one of these today, yet to open it though. what's the going rate for trading the clones for the pod? I'm assuming 2 for the 1.
-
These things are moving pretty slow at my Store. The same ones have sat all week. Im sure the weekend will clear them out though.
I still think EE should of tried to get Hasbro to release a 4-pack (similar to the AOTC ones) for ROTS with the SA sculpt and included:
501 Blue Clone
Red Shocktrooper
Orange Utapau
Yellow or Green

Saw this at Target but passed on it.
-
I really like this set more then I thought I would.I think it's the Shocktroopers that make it so cool.I think I'll get at least
2 more of these sets at some point.
-
I saw a boatload of these tonight actually. I was surprised how many considering another Target I was at just last week had only one... I'm not counting on clearance so I'll likely pick one or two more up but I was really shocked at how many were just lying around at the last Target I was at tonight.
-
Our Targets still haven't gotten these, although the shelftag is there (or I just missed them). If I stop in there this week, I might have to ask if they have any in back. I'd like to at least get one set, maybe more if they do hit clearance.
-
Target does seem to get in better stock of their exclusives... I say give it time, by mid summer or so these might be impossible to find.
:)
-
I've been seeing a bunch of these as well. I'm actually a bit surprised. At least the casual collector is having a chance to get 'em.
-
2 figures everyone has... And I think the pod isn't a big attractor for kids. $20 for a set of Clones is just rough to stomach for a lot of people, especially when that figure saw basic retail more or less.
I'm glad though. It affords me the chance to pick up 2 or 3 extras, and since collectors do want hte pods I've found I can trade them for like 2 figures I want... It's nice.
-
since collectors do want hte pods I've found I can trade them for like 2 figures I want... It's nice.
I could use some pods. LMK if get anymore you don't want.
-
Seeing a lot of these stack up around the Chicago area.
The Clones and pod is what this is all about. I do not even want the quick draw version anymore. H&V would have been wise to pack the SA one instead.
I use to like that Yoda figure but now I hate him,
After ROTS lets see:
Saga Wave 3 repack
Skirmish in the senate pack
Heroes and Villians repack
The emporer always sucked and now we get him in the same fashion as yoda but he has him 1 upped!
ROTS
ROTS TRU Holo
Saga Wave 3 repack
Kmart battle pack
Skirmish in the senate pack
Heroes and Villians repack
I never destroyed a figure in my life but I think I will break out my heat gun to make the Wicked Witch version of the Emporer - Melted into a puddle of Goo!
-
I bought 1. If I find them on clearance cheap enough i'll get a coupla more.
The pods are a bit small and you'd need a boatload of them for a decent Diorama. :-\
I need to get a Bowl Chuck for my Lathe and turn my own. ;)
-
I got one of these tonight as well, and I enjoy it very much. I was never fond of that Yoda and passed on it, but it's actually a decent figure. The Shocktroopers own, as expected, and the Senate Pod owns all! I thought it would be smaller than it actually is.
-
And I assume your lack of mentioning the Palps figure means that it is crap?
:P
-
Well I bought it last year, and it's decent for what it is... but still pretty crappy. :P
-
That figure should never be referred to in a post that also includes the word 'decent'
-
That figure should never be referred to in a post that also includes the word 'decent'
I think that is the best PT Yoda I've ever seen.
-
I think if that Yoda had a softgoods robe made of the same material as the new Obi-Wan robe, it would be 100% better. Its not a bad Yoda at all.
-
I'm surprised to see these sitting in my area, too. There has been a dozen sitting on the bottom shelf for the last week. I'd have figured that they'd move great, even if army builders shyed away because of the price. Even if that Yoda isn't the greatest, he's still Yoda, and he's fighting the Emperor. That's a pretty appealing package for kids or parents to recognize.
I haven't been too interested in buying additional packs because I think the paint details on the clones are a bit dodgy, and the plastic used has a dull sheen to it that doesn't match the individual SA plain or Utapau flavors. They feel a little cheap, IMO.
-
Again, it's very difficult to lay down $20+ for two shock troopers and one senate pod. Essentially, that's how I look at it being that nobody wants the extra Yodas and Palpy's.
-
Again, it's very difficult to lay down $20+ for two shock troopers and one senate pod.
The way I see it, it's what we're paying for for two Scout Troopers. :P
-
Again, it's very difficult to lay down $20+ for two shock troopers and one senate pod.
Just think about it like you're purchasing 3 figs at retail. After tax each fig comes to about $7 so that's $21. Right around the same for the Pod and 2 Shocks. ;D
-
Anybody ditching their pods? I could use a couple...
-
Anybody ditching their pods? I could use a couple...
I have been and I will continue to do so.
I sold 2 here.
1 sold on ebay
1 trade pending
-
I just opened my set. I like the Senate Pod as a pack in. It's the closest thing we've had to a playset since the Mustafar volcano, and a lot cheaper. The troopers are pretty nice, and yoda and sidious aren't all bad. Since this is a pretty pivotal duel, I'm glad they made it a battle pack. Too bad the final Grievous (who I refuse to pay more than 8.00 for) couldn't have found his way into a pack like this with battle damage Obi, Utapau clone, and battle droid.
-
These are really widely available in my neck fo the woods, which I'm thankful for since I should be able to get a set next pay as an extra (or two). I'm glad people want the pods. :)
-
I checked our local Target yesterday for these, but they still don't have them in stock. The shelf tag has the little grey sticker on it, which I've been told means they are "on the way/on order" - but I was told that by an employee, so maybe that was just a line they fed me. I might have to check the Target across town and see if they have it yet, it sounds like they are piling up everywhere else around the country.
-
The grey sticker means they have researched the item and there is none to be found in the store. Hopefully you'll see it soon.
-
When my local Targets put on the grey sticker I never see the item again. :-[
-
The grey sticker means they have researched the item and there is none to be found in the store. Hopefully you'll see it soon.
Thanks for the info Holo Elvis - I appreciate it. I don't think that it has ever shown up at this store, unless I just totally missed them and they sold out. The Target across town has the scanners that you can still type in the DCPI numbers, and said they had it in the stockroom, but the customer service people said they didn't have any. They still hadn't done their reset either. Anyways, hopefully they'll show up at the Target closer to home - they've had the shelf sticker/space for a few weeks now and have restocked everything else (VTSC, Coruscant wave, Titaniums, vehicles, etc.) in full.
-
These are also becoming more common in my area as well. The price of these really justifies what everybody wants; and you don't have to resort to ebay prices and shipping/handling for your shocktroopers.
Suggestion to hasbro: For the love of god, make more battlepacks with more clones!!
-
These are pegwarming at my Targets.
-
I tend to see 4-5 at each Target I visit. I finally cracked one open, and really like it. $20.00 doesn't go very far in the modern Hasbro line, but the Target battle packs have been a personal birght spot for me.
-
These are pegwarming at my Targets.
I'm willing to bet that if either Yoda or the Emperor were replaced with a third SA Shock Clone, these wouldn't be piling up.
-
My husband picked this set up for me a couple of weeks ago. He walked in Target looking for an anniversary gift for me, and he said it looked like they had just gotten them in, because there were several on the shelf in good condition.
I'm not an opener, but I really like the set and the way it looks in the box.
