I snagged another VAMP when they got to $13 but passed on the HISS for $9 and change before they sold out.  Would have snagged one at $6.  I think there are 1 or 2 figures still kicking around my store but haven't seen the motorcycles even though I know they should have some left.

The figures might not totally suck at $3 - $4 as army builders or whatever.  But, yeah, not much use for them.

So, did you have the inside scoop on the Harmony Gold lawsuit?

Anyone else pick up this set?  I hedged my bets, even before the lawsuit, and went to eBay for it.  Paid out the ass but I wanted to lock it in and it's probably a good thing since Hasbro never posted it on HTS.  I see the eBay prices have dropped a little since then, but I didn't want to end up not having the set.

I can't believe you found them still on the shelf somewhere.  I saw them for that price last year at a BL store I stopped in but haven't seen them since.  I thought they probably all sold through.

For that price, it's not actually a terrible deal for the 2 army builder figures.  I think if I found them again for that price I'd probably pick up 2 or 3 packs.

I can confirm the pricing on the Masterpiece figures.  I saw them Monday at TRU.  I don't know that there was a difference with the SDCC release?  I thought it was just an early shot at getting them but maybe something in the packaging?

I thought that the TRU store release would be the same as SDCC.

Spotted more clearances, at Walmart this time.  Helm's Deep for $89, Uruk-hai sets for $21 and Gandalf Arrives for $9 I think.

The Hobbit sets included Mirkwood Spiders, Wargs, Unexpected Gathering ($49) and Goblin King Battle for $69.

I wanted to watch Siberia and did see the first episode, but I have too much going on on Monday nights.  I think I'll wait till it comes out on DVD and watch it.

I had to go look up the Flamingo.  That's ridiculous.  I love it.

I don't know why I posted package 6 earlier, package 11 gets all the cool stuff and then add on the Eagle.

Why does all the cool stuff cost money I don't have?

Picked up 9473 Mines of Moria at Target last night for 50% off.

Thursday is the normal markdown day for clearance items at my store so I actually stopped in yesterday morning on the way to work and scanned that set, it was still about 30% off.  Got out of work and it was 50%.  I also missed out on one of the larger Galaxy Squad sets I'd been waiting on for 50% off.  They had 3 or 4 yesterday morning, gone when I got there in the PM.

Lego does not sit around on clearance prices.

Star Wars Celebrations / Re: Celebration VII Ticket Sales
« on: August 1, 2013, 01:42 PM »
I'm happy to have the announcement of Celebration this early, but I think selling tickets is odd.  I can plan things pretty far in advance but paying out $150-ish (just a guess) for a 4-day pass to a convention 2 years away?  Doesn't seem like a good idea.

Well, I guess it's a good idea to offer them, but maybe not a good idea for everyone to actually start buying.

I was reading some speculation that since the Anaheim Convention Center is smaller than the OCC, there's more potential for this show to actually sell out.  With the hype of the new movie I guess that's possible.

Conventions / Re: Baltimore Comic Con

It's not that big, no, and it's centered around comics and not as much movies and TV like Wizard World has become.

I don't know if you can get a previous year's attendance numbers off their site, I didn't look.  But I know that Joe says it's easy to get in and very easy to approach the artists and creators...not as hectic as the larger shows.

Didn't see a thread for this.

I'm going this year for the first time and was wondering if anyone else would be there?  Joe Kersavage, couple you guys probably know him, has been going for the last couple of years and loves it.

I know it's a little early yet, but anyone going to NYCC this year?

Press passes already approved.  I'll be there Saturday and Sunday.

I finally just looked at this kickstarter.  That's actually some excellent work they have going on.

I'm thinking about pledging so that I can order the Screaming Eagle.  Maybe package 6.

Hmmmm....

I was in TRU on Saturday and completely forgot to look for the Pacific Rim toys! Argh!  Good chance they wouldn't have had them anyway, but I just saw this thread and now I'm pissed at myself.

I wouldn't mind having a Gipsy Danger figure, I like the design.

I still see a lot of Thor and IM figures at Five Below and Ollie's around here.  They may have a smaller line but I can't see them not overshipping it and dooming any future waves.

We'll see...
