The Vintage Collection / Re: $5 Vintage Collection @ Five Below
« on: January 1, 2014, 04:40 PM »
I picked up 5 more INC's yesterday from a 5 Below I don't normally get to very often, was the most interesting figure they had left. I hope they continue to dabble in SW for 2014, it's been a good source for otherwise MIA TVC figs.

I saw TRU had a promotion going that ends tomorrow I believe which gives you an extra 20% off any clearance item so I picked up another couple of Engineers for $8 each, hard to resist at that price.

I saw these for the first time at a Walmart today on some random endcap for $7.88 each...I was stunned. If they'd been any cheaper I might have picked up a few more goblins. Will definitely keep an eye out to see if they hit clearance.

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Star Wars Rebels Saga Legends Figures

I'd be ecstatic with that honestly, and just custom up the secondary guys.  If they're doing any SA guys though, realistic style please.  If they hold true to their motto on things, that should be how it is.

Agreed - a TBS version of this character - either 3.75" or 6" should be in the realistic style.

I'm sure a few folks would have mixed feelings about giving up a coveted slot in the BS line for a "flavor of the month" type character and I totally get that. It's probably too soon to start expecting cross-overs. Personally, I am firmly in the camp of wanting figures that actually look like the characters, so it's animated uber alles for me. I can put up with the limited articulation as a trade-off. If that means leaving these in the 5POA kiddie line, so be it.

I'd love to see vehicles too but totally agree there would be a lot of justifiable concern about how Hasbro would handle those. The recent track record is not good at all.

Deluxe sets could offer some real winners in this line though, 2 figures + a small vehicle was a good formula for $20.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases
« on: December 31, 2013, 08:25 PM »
Final Clone Wars purchase of 2013...the last AT-RT Class I set I could find at any of the local Targets, for $13.48 on clearance. This is still higher than the ones popping up at Marshall's a few weeks back, but those have since dried up and I feel like I may not get too many more chances at this set. I really wanted the ARF Trooper for a custom piece I have in mind.

It's cool to still see random TCW figures still hanging around town here and there but I'm thinking we won't be seeing them this time next year and that's a little sad. I guess the Rebels figures will be out by then to ease the pain though.  ;)

I'm glad it looks more animated than realistic, but yeah, 5 POA pretty much blows.

I'll buy it though, like the craven cur I am.  :D

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NFL 2013-2014
« on: December 30, 2013, 10:40 AM »
In all honesty, this was the year I really came to loathe NFL football, and not just because I was a Redskins fan, although that had a lot to do with it. It's the media I can't take anymore. Sports "journalism" has sunk to an alltime low IMHO. It's all just a cacophony of screaming voices, idiots saying ridiculous things, quoting outrageous lies from 'unnamed sources', and so on. A player is either the next best thing ever or a bum. If they're not rushing to build someone up, they're rushing to tear them down. It's become sickening.

For the first year in as long as I can remember, I have ZERO interest in watching the playoffs or even the stinking Superbowl. I just don't care.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2014: What Are You Collecting?
« on: December 28, 2013, 10:45 PM »
I ended up enjoying a lot of stuff this past year that I was late jumping into...Hobbit, Prometheus, etc. I liked the subscription Watchmen figures a lot too, will miss those next year. With the Clone Wars line dead, Star Wars has really fallen down the list for me. Definitely just cherry picking going forward. I'm thinking for 2014:

Star Wars- Everything from the 6" line, guestimating 12-15 figures for 2014, maybe an exclusive or two. Anything from the Clone Wars series they happen to make in either 4" line. Definitely ALL the Rebels stuff, psyched for that...

Walking Dead- Everything as far as the comic and TV waves, any 10" figures they bring out after Daryll, love this line...

Pacific Rim- Any and all, Wave 3 for the 7" and both 18" figures, maybe even the Sideshow GD. Love this line SO much!

Hobbit- Still need 4" Azog, but after that I guess I'm done until they see fit to release those other $%^&  dwarves...

Prometheus- Wishful thinking, but somehow get us Fifield and Holloway already...

Picked up a Fimbul/Warg 2-pack for $10 at TRU tonight...can't have too many Wargs. They are not advertising a 50% off sale but everything was half off, even the new stuff.

I also got a 6" Azog just for the hell of it because he is pretty cool and for $8 why not?

The Bullpen / Re: Captain America: Winter Soldier: The Toys!
« on: December 28, 2013, 10:29 PM »
I saw these tonight too at TRU and ALL THEY HAD were Caps and a few Winter Soldiers. Definitely NOT anything remotely as interesting as a Red Skull or AIM soldier. I'm thinking there must be another case assortment as well.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - 2013 Wave 2

I saw a lone Luminara chilling on the pegs at Target tonight. No signs of any of her wave-mates though.

I was excited to find a random Puck on the pegs at Target today. My friend in FL had mentioned seeing one down there too, so I was hoping there would be some kind of re-shipping underway. I only saw him one other time months and months ago at Walmart on a torn card and passed. Glad I got a second chance.

Oh, I know, but now even the listing is gone! Why did they even bother putting it up? Never came into stock that I saw.

I'm torn on this one, don't want to overpay but fear the limited run could make it only harder to find the longer I wait.

I saw Target had clearance stickers on these today for $13.98 each. I guess they are dumping everything outside of figures? I guess we weren't likely to get much else in this line anyway, not that there was a lack of good choices. Non-exclusive vehicles just seem DOA for 2014.

Also saw they had that Rise of Vader set for 50% off...still meh.

3540
I saw today that Target has begun clearancing these out, price only dropped to $13.98 here though. (so far)

I know of at least one location the still had quite a few of these, at least before Christmas, so I would like to hold out for another cheap AT-RT set. $9.98 sounds good to me.
