Title: I don't like action features!
Post by: Ner_vod on July 6, 2005, 02:23 PM
You know? What I don't like is those action figures where you press a button on the back and they do a Jedi kick or saber slash.  I like super posable and articulated figures. But at least Hasbro doesn't use screws on the action figures.

Does anyone actually like action features?

I don't like buttons either, but the action features this time around worked very well and I actually like them.

Well we've been around this merry-go-round hundreds of threads in the past few years it seems, but Hasbro never seems to learn.

However, the ROTS action features are a heck of a lot better than what we got in the SAGA line, where most of the first figures were either in overly extreme poses or had horrifying action features.

I agree, I thought the action features were much less intrusive this time.  The action features were toned down and the articulation was turned up... always a good thing.   :)

they just need to turn the buttons down all the way and the articulation up all the way.

The problem I felt that plagued action-feature figures was that it often still came at the cost of additional articulation.  That is what it seemed like to me anyway.

You slap ball/socket knees on Mace Windu, or the Anakins and Obi-Wans, and I'd have been a little more pleased with collection 1 this go-round.  Plus loose arm joints tended to be right on the tails of an action feature.

#6 Clone's the ideal action-feature-laden figure in my book.  Great articulation, great sculpt, and a feature you can't see but which works for what it was supposed to do.  I liked the Super Battledroid from AOTC for that reason.  Short of more arm articulation, I would've totally been happy with that figure.  I love the exploding feature, the battledamaged chest...  Those were neat ideas.

Drop that lame-ass extra "world devastator arm" he had and give his regular right arm a swivel joint at the forearm, and I'd have bought a lot more SBD's.
