Title: Love Songs
Post by: Scott on February 11, 2004, 09:17 PM
Keeping with theme of the weekend, what's your favorite love songs.

Here are mine: 2 Beatles songs "Here, There and Everywhere" and "I Will", me and wifey had these sung at our wedding, always holds a special place in both of our hearts

I Will

Who knows how long I've loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime
If you want me to-- I will.

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same.

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart.

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
You know I will
I will.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Special nod to Sweet Child O' Mine for some great moments in my youth ;)

Evanesence "My Immortal" gets me on the verge of crying evry time.

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

[CHORUS:]
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

[Chorus]

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

[Chorus]

I really like this song, early Dave Matthews...

Quote
I'll Back You Up

I remember thinking
I'll go on forever only knowing
I'll see you again
But I know
The touch of you is so hard to remember
But like that touch I know no other
And for sure we have danced
In the risk of each other
Would like to dance
Around the world with me

I'll be falling all about my own thing
And I know your the heaviest weight
When your not here that's hung
Around my head

And your lips burn wild
Thrown from the face of a child
And in your eyes
The seeing of the greatest few
Do what you will, always
Walk where you like, your steps
Do as you please, I'll back you up

I remember thinking
Sometimes we walk
Sometimes we run away
But I know
No matter how fast we are running
Somehow we keep
Somehow we keep up with each other

I'll be falling all about my own thing
And i know your the heaviest weight
When your not here that's hung
Around my head

And your lips burn wild
Thrown from the face of a child
And in your eyes
The seeing of the greatest few
Do what you will, always
Walk where you like, your steps
Do as you please, I'll back you up

My girlfriend is really the DMB fan, but that song always gets me.

Well the song that makes Sue cry is by Allision Krause   Nothing at all.  I am not a touchy feely guy so some songs speak for me ;D  A few others are good for us as well.

And speaking of love songs who can forget the Say anything movie with John Cusak and Laone Sky (sp?) Standing there with his boom box ;) Don't know why that came to mind but o well
