Title: Sin City
Post by: Ben on April 17, 2005, 03:54 AM
Anybody else buying these?

Over the last three days, I've acquired a set of them. I opted for the color versions, since the b&w ones looked a little funny, plus they wouldn't jibe too well with everything else in my collection.

I got the hair-down version of Nancy, because I haven't located the wind-blown-hair version in color yet.
I also bought the smiling Yellow Bastard, since he looked more evil.

Plus, there's a Wizard exclusive of Marv that doesn't have bandages on his face. He comes in color only. I'd order one, but I've had nothing but bad experiences with Wizard/Toyfare exclusives. So bad, in fact, I've never received any that I've ordered.

Wizard linky. (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/tfsccm.html)

I'll probably just go ahead and order it and see what happens.

No.  I saw this movie 2 weeks ago, and I loathe it.

I won't be buying them either.  I guess I knew what to expect from the comic series, but the movie was a bit over the top for me.  I think it was well done and a big segment out there really enjoyed it.  I didn't feel I wasted money to see it, but I've no need to see it again.  Being the father of a five year old girl, it was a wee bit more than disturbing.

The figures look pretty nice too but I prefer the colour versions as well.

The toy line looks awesome.  Very stylized, just like the movie.  It's just unfortunate that they won't be making Clive Owen or Benecio Del Toro's characters.  Those guys won't sign their likeness rights over.

Yeah, I kinda wanted a Jackie Boy figure. Eh.

At least this is in series 2:

I don't much like Brittany Murphy as an actress, but like a good geek, I like figures of scantily clad women. :)

Bloody Marv. (http://www.figures.com/databases/action.cgi?setup_file=fignews2.setup&category=actionfigures&topic=155&show_article=245)

It's a SDCC exclusive. Anybody going this year that wants to pick one up for me? :D

I'm not sure if it's a statue or a figure.

I bet it's like McF's version back in 1998, where he just lit up and had a couple of sounds.

I'll buy this since I don't have the McFarlane version. I doubt he'll have any articulation, but that's fine with me. That is, if he's scaled for the 7" line.

Just found out more about Marv in the electric chair. It will be sold as a box set. It's to scale with the rest of the figure line.
