Same character = yes, same sculpt = no.  The Bar2 droid from Jabba's Sail Barge.

The new Disney one seems to have more accurate paint/deco to the droid in the movie.

It's good to see one of these releases is an on screen droid.  I appreciate the holiday droids, but I want onscreen droids to get greater consideration for figures.

Agreed.  I wish they would release more and not just astromechs.  They have the best sculpts for LOMs, Threepios, CZs and RA-7s.  I know they've already released 4-LOM, but there are so many others they can do.

I'm a little disappointed that this did not go up for preorder this morning.  The Black Series Dok Ondar went live at 11:00 et but not this.

I was making what I thought was an educated guess about the release date.  It would certainly make sense to release it today.  But there was never any official date tied to this droid as far as I can recall.

Shop Disney Japan advertised it as available 5/4 (and it did go up for sale today in Japan) so that's why people were expecting it today.  There was never anything official on it that I saw.

Evidently these are now turning up in the Disney Parks in the US.  And Yakface is circulating the word that these will be available on Shop Disney on June 12th.

I got my shipment last week. I'm digging this one and it feels like one of the better Disney Droid Factory releases. Paint apps on the figure look great. I totally missed him in ROTJ, but I am glad we got him and he might now be one of my favorite astromechs in my collection.
