Anyone know anything about this line? I knew there were some figures out at one time (McFarlane Movie Maniacs?) but this looks different. Army builder set at Toyfare (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/tstaodab2.html)
Hmmm. Could always use an Ash...
-
I heard about these in the distant past.
I'm suprised. ;D

I cruised EE for them and indeed they have several available, but they seem quite pricey for the size, around $10-12 a piece in the case orders. I'm guessing the movie places will be carrying them - Suncoast etc. Wouldn't mind an Ash figure to throw into the star wars collection to mess with people.
-
I was wanting some Skeletons for customizing, but... That's a tad pricey. Hmmm
-
I was under the impression that the $10 price tag was for a 2-pack of figures. I could be wrong tho... ???
-
12 pack of two packs (24 figs) at EE (sold out by the way) is $199.99 so yeah, that's about right then $5 a fig, $10 for the two pack. Not so bad I guess, but might not need all the two packs or more than one. Oh well.
clicky clicky (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PM11233A)
-
If one of us can find these available at the $10 rate (on 2-packs), I think we may be able to work together to distribute extras and such... Divvy up the fundage.
Like I said, this is fodder to me... I'm wanting Skeletons, and maybe one of each human (for potential parts), but the skeletons mostly. Those in this scale are like finding virgins in a *****house.

I want one of my uncle.... (He played an extra zombie in Army of Darkness! ;D)
-
Eh. These suck.
Found 'em in several different places, and $15 is just too damn much for what little you're getting and how crappy it looks.
I'll just stick with my McFarlane Ash and Evil Ash.
-
I wanted some of the skeletons and such for customizing...
I've heard of issues with them being fragile though, and breaking like a McFarlane "toy" tends to, after just a few movements of a joint.
Still wanting to get the dead bits and pieces for customs though.
Beru and Owen charred, here I come!

Yup. Found them at a comic store up here for not that much more, $19 CAD and made a big pass on them. Too bad.
-
I picked up the five sets I saw at a local comic shop. I thought they were cool. I have yet to open them, hopefully soon, so I don't know about the fragility issues. But when I pop 'em open, I'll make my report ;)
-
I also saw these at FP (london) I gave them a huuge pass after checking them out, too little for too much £.
Was weird how they just appeared, no film ties in's, nothing...
My 12 " Ash does the job nicely.

Just picked up a few of these sets today at Suncoast. They were on clearance and ended up being a little more than $4 apiece. They had the two headed Ash set, but sadly it wasn't on clearance.
The figures themselves are a little flimsy and fragile, but have some good articulation. Lots of weapons and accessories in these sets too.
I really like em and at the clearance price I'd probably buy a few more sets since they are, IMHO, very cool looking figures.
-
On clearance? Oh, I gotta get to Suncoast now then I guess... I wanted some of the dead things for customs purposes... Maybe some of the weapons too I guess.
I've heard they were flimsy and even fragile by some others as well...
-
$4 each? Yes! I've been waiting for them to go 75% off. I've got a few of them for full price back several months ago. Great for customs of sick dead people, or undead Sith Lords -

:P
-
Uh ... wow.
-
I picked a couple up tonight... They weren't an extra 50% off, but they werne't $14 either, so for half price they were affordable.
Brittle's an understatement, but Palisades did a number on the articulation with these. Ball/socket joints galore, finely detailed sculpts, great accessories... They're quality pieces. Should make good corpses for battlefields. I still thing AoD is one of the most asinine films I've ever seen though. I can't think of much about it that I liked when I saw it.
-
Bruce Camble, thats what's good about it.
Did they make a Bruce figure?
If anyone has a spare Bruce head laying around, PM me, so we can work out a deal. I'd much like one for custom purposes.

I picked up a couple of these sets on "clearance" (read: 25% off) at my local Suncoast. I was going to make a decaying corpse Clone Trooper 8)
I was surprised by how articulated these figures are. They are, by far, the most articulated figures that I have ever seen in this scale (aside from Microman figures). They have the Marvel Legends knee and elbow joints (2 joints for each elbow/knee joint). I will definitely pick up some more of the skeleton sets and go to town on dead clones! ;D
-
If anybody is interested in this line, my local Suncoast has these on double clearance (1/2 off of the regular clearance price), bringing the final price to $5.60/set. I picked up 3 more sets for some customs 8)
-
Maybe means another trip to Suncoast I guess.
They're not the absolute best fodder, but if you need corpses there's nothing better I say. :)
-
I saw a ton of these in suncoast in our Palmdale mall..tons of 2 packs
Remember the words from before he opens the book...
KLaatu, berada,nikto....CHECK THIS OUT....
KLaatu, berada,nikto..these are the names on TRU's
skiff guards on tatooine 4 pack
Is this weird or what?
did army of darkness use these names from SW???
lol-chew on that for awhile..if not..well,then go take a piss

Klaatu, Barada, Nikto were the words from The Day the Earth Stood Still. Star Wars and Army of Darkness got those words from that movie.
The new Army of Darkness figures are apparently going to be "blind packed" >:( I guess they're trying something new since there are so many of these figures on clearance at Suncoasts. It's too bad because these figures are great, I'm surprised that they haven't sold through at this "new" pricepoint. ???
-
That movie sounds familiar- what was that one about?I may have seen it when I was a little kid
-
Dude at the local Toy Show sold all the 2-packs (including online exclusive army builder set) for 3 for $10... I nabbed 3 but looking back I wish I'd gotten another 3 of just the online exclusive since it had the only "clean" skeleton in the line. :(
how can they continue the line is what I'm wondering... blind packed or not, it has been a flop really at retail, so I'm perplexed why they're carrying it forward. I'm totally psyched over the Terminator line though. I hope they go nuts with the "future" human resistance figures... I'd rather those than the film's main characters.
-
Man, that's a good deal Jesse! I wish I had been there!
I'm a little surprised at the "failure" of this line - there is no way that this line should have seen double-clearance at Suncoast. Although I guess double-clearance brings the line into a reasonable price range... I only bought 2 sets when they were "on sale" for $12, but since they've been marked down to $5.62 or whatever, I've bought about 4 or 5 more. These figures are too cool!
I hadn't heard of that Terminator line, got any pics? Will it be in the same style as Army of Darkness (scale/articulation/detail/accessories)?
-
Hi Jesse. BomBadDave checking in...
If you hadnt caught the news... that MediaPlay in Monroeville is closing
their doors TODAY (8/12). The still had about 6 peg of the AoD figs, and
all marked with 75%-off stickers.
(Plus, you know the Suncoast at the mall has these too, for about 60%-off)
just letting you know..

Can't get to Monroeville tonight Dave, but thanks for the heads up... May have to pick some more up at Suncoast though as the one figure is prone to wrist breakage (the zombie with meat on his bones yet), and thus I have a couple whose hands fell off. Always worth nabbing more anyway I figure for some rotting battlefield corpses. :)
Thanks Dave! :)
