The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - 2013 Wave 2

WTF happened to Mara Jade's hair?  I think I'll be following Jayson's idea of swapping a Marvel Universe Black Widow head in its place.

Padme, she's good...  She's very crisp, good detail, and beside the elbow pin being **** (absolutely, totally, BS), she is truly an awesome figure.  Great articulation, love the Droid blaster and wish I could buy packs of these alone, and I thought the deco was pretty spot on but that one pin...  But she isn't the wave winner like some are saying.

Luke is the wave's winner at this point.  Here's why.

Hmmmm... I think you convinced me to pick up the Luke.  I had considered it a repaint and wasn't going to bother, but it sounds like it's a worthwhile purchase.  I was really torn on Padme since I wanted to upgrade her, but again, I wasn't sure it was necessary.  My collection is still boxed so I don't have the figures handy to see how badly upgrades are needed, but you sold me.

Well done.  8)

Hasbro isn't attending NYCC this year. No Star Wars. No Marvel. No Joe. Nothing. They are doing a VIP party on the Wednesday before but no official presence at the con. I got the invite, but I suspect it will be a masturbatory exercise in all things Angry Birds Telepods.

WTF?  They're not even showing up?  **** Angry Birds.

In case folks didn't hear. This has hit stores this week for $119.99

They are $169.99 in Canada, so I certainly won't be buying one, even at 50% off.

Actually, they're on sale for $127, what a deal.  Grab 'em while you can, fellow Canucks.  ::)

My TRU has 30 of these in stock!  I think they'll be around for a long time at $74.99 (Canadian price).

But my wife bought me one for our anniversary, so I don't have to think about that price.  :D

Good point, can't argue with that.

I wasn't able to attend the draft tonight, but I seem to have a decent team anyway.  I'm not sure about having 2 Leafs and 2 Canadiens though.  :P

The hockey season just wouldn't be complete for me without the good ol' JD Fantasy Hockey.  I'm in.

That Death Star is fantastic, I dream of having a Kenner Canada one some day.

I'm proud to present the Rodney Dangerfield of Star Wars figures, General Madine. :D  This one is Canadian, like all my carded figures.

Great stuff, that Jawa focus is looking fantastic!  Is that a Regal Jawa in the corner?  Awesome.

1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: 1/6 General Grievous
« on: August 1, 2013, 05:00 AM »
I broke the bank with Vader, and even as cool as Grievous looks, I have to pass on him.  I think he may actually be worth that price because I'm sure SS had to design him from scratch, but he just doesn't fit into my collection easily.

Star Wars Celebrations / Re: Star Wars Celebration: Anaheim

I hope that Reed is going to stay on as the promoter.  I like how they've built up New York Comic Con, although I didn't get a chance to attend the Star Wars Celebrations that they promoted.  And I think they probably did a far better job than the promoters who did Celebration 2, 3 and 4.

I agree about Reed staying involved, I thought they did a hell of a good job for CV in Orlando.
