Title: Celebration V Hotels, Attractions, Restaurants etc...
Post by: DSJ™ on December 9, 2009, 11:16 AM
What are your Hotel plans to stay in Orlando? Any good restaruant ideas & what attractions will you see if you stay longer or during the event?

I'm staying at the Rosen Centre just across the street from the Convention Centre. I booked a few days after C5 to take in some sites.

SeaWorld (http://www.seaworld.com/orlando/) looks nice but not sure if I can fit it in.

Universal Studios (http://www.universalorlando.com/home/home.aspx#) looks intersting, I took in Universal when I was in LA back in 1986 & would like to take it in if I can.

Disney World (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/) is another place I would love to see, can I do that in a day... lol!

Kennedy Space Centre (http://www.kennedyspacecentertours.net/), oh man I'm in heaven. Being a space buff, this is one tour I can't miss. Tours (http://www.kennedyspacecentertours.net/tours/tourType.cfm?ttid2=931) can be had for $85. up & are aprox 11.5 hrs long. No launches (http://www.nasa.gov/missions/highlights/schedule.html) are on tap for this time period tho... bummer. Still, this is where space history is... spam in a can.  :D

Restaraunts, some choices to get some grub close by. Elegant Pizzeria & Deli, IHOP, Denny's, Red Lobster, Taco Bell, McDonalds & whatever else is handy. Nothing really different than up here in Canada tho.

Anyone with some advice for other places to chow down or see the sites (reviews), holler.  :)

I booked a week at the Clarion since I found a pretty nice price and this way my family (wifey & 2 kids) have something setup if we do commit to going.

If we do bring the kids, there's no doubt we'd hit Disney World.  We'd probably arrive at least a couple days early since there's so much to see: Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios.

I'm also interested in Sea World and Universal Studios like you mentioned Dale, but it'll depend how much time we set aside.

Keep in mind the world's largest McDonald's is also in Orlando.  ;)

Clarion's are nice.  there's one not far from me and I've used it for friends in out of town, family...  It's pretty slick, so I think anyone booking there will like it.
